Guest As Good As It Gets Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Another day, another shitty single release from this boring album. End it now
Femme Gauche Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Hating it is trendy now Apparently... I didn't even think about the possibility of a video for this, that would certainly be nice! Surely it's only right and proper that there should be one? As much as I'd love it I don't think there will be one... Of course, I've been wrong about things like this in the past... quite often... But it seems to me the reason they released it is because they were going to play it. BUt man, if they do make a video for it, wow, they are doing things really close together o_o. I vote for them to take the one from my dream... Even though I can't remember it .

True, plus they've already put out that live one . But I would definitely be in favour of them making your dream video reality
Bastard of 1967 Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Another day, another shitty single release from this boring album. End it now Now THAT was one well-thought-out post.....
Ritz Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 I'm in love with it. I was singing this infront of my friends the whole day They couldnt make a word of it, otherwise they would have noticed it was for them xD And yeah I got around to make bass tabs of this one, pretty easy !
RetroHolo Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Love this song...the studio version is brilliant! (Especially the "SHUT THE FUCK UUUUUPPPP!" in the background). I was kind of expecting this to be released as a single, just wasn't sure of when. Seeing as the Deluxe Edition of the album has videos for 4 songs included (Oh Love!, Kill The DJ, Let Yourself Go and Stay the Night) so I think it was always a planned release. We'll be seeing Stay the Night at somepoint after the album drops as a final single from Uno I think. Another day, another shitty single release from this boring album. End it now Brilliant and insightful post. It IS another day, you are correct there! You're also entitled to your opinion, so all round I can't really argue with your post. You win!
Guest As Good As It Gets Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Now THAT was one well-thought-out post..... You'll have to forgive me, but I completely missed the point of this post. Could you help me out and explain?

Another day, another shitty single release from this boring album. End it now I can't even begin to figure out how to engage in a conversation about the single with you when all you did was label it "boring shit" and walk away. Maybe if you can explain what you were expecting and how/why in your opinion the single disappoints those expectations, we'd at least have some good constructive criticism to discuss here. I think/hope you didn't intend it this way, but right now my reaction to your post is, "well, okay, sorry you didn't like it and thanks for pissing on the parade" -- which doesn't feel right in a community of fans.

That's a valid point, and I'd be happy to answer that. The issue I have with the new single is that to me, it seems like another song in which not much thought has gone in, sounds completely generic and feels empty, like everything else I've heard off the new album so far - hence the 'boring shit' label. In fact, I find it so boring that I can't even be bothered to discuss it - maybe not a positive feeling to convey in a community of fans, but certainly an honest one, which makes far more sense to me in a community of fans rather than blindly worshipping absolutely everything an artist does. Hope this clarifies things for you, have a nice day.
josh_oliday Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Don't know if this has been posted yet, but the single is now available on amazon.com for 99 cents. Sorry I can't link at the moment. I'm on my phone and found it on my Amazon MP3 app about 5 minutes ago. To all the iTunes and Apple haters like me, enjoy.
Bundita Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 I love this song The beginning part reminds me of Maria...
St_Jimmy_10 Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Not sure if this has been posted but it's available on the UK iTunes now.
MidnightMuffin Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 It's number 11 on the Itunes Alternative charts right now
Comrade Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 From the very beginning I was utterly indifferent to the song and now I've heard the studio version; no change. maybe I'll be more enthusiastic about it when it's in the context of the album, but over all I find it quite plain. Not in any way unlistenable, but nothing about it makes me want to keep listening. If it was by a band other than Green Day it wouldn't be on my ipod, but I'd not turn it off the radio.

So basically, you have no strong opinion either way. Hey, that's allowed XD. Glad you didn't come in here and say "Sucks. I'm out."
Iop Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 I wonder when it will be released on Spotify. Now on Spotify. YAY. However, part of me wishes it was Stay the Night. I really want a studio version of that and I think it'd make a great single as well. "Stay the Night" is so awesome, I hope it will be a single. But Green Day tend to bury their greatest songs deep inside of their albums. For example "Viva la Gloriy!" (really need to figure out how to make the inverted "!"): I do believe it could have been a well-received single.

"Last Night On Earth", however... could have sold quite a bit, I think.

spark in the night Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 So when is GD.com going to email me my download link to this song?
1039SweetChildren Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 So when is GD.com going to email me my download link to this song? Probably never... I think the next boxset digital single will be Dos' first single.
WhiteTim Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 So when is GD.com going to email me my download link to this song? Not going to not apart of pre order

"Last Night On Earth", however... could have sold quite a bit, I think. Yeah, "Last Night..." could have been a great single. Maybe they should have released it instead of "Last of the American Girls"? My personal problem with the song is just that it is the long-feared piano-ballad. Prior to the release of 21CB me and my friends were always talking about how we actually were "scared" of Green Day writing that kind of song. Maybe a little silly but yeah - that's me.
