netty Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 I really do feel so sorry for the peeps who have gone to this expecting to see the guys playing! it sucks for everybody when things like this are cancelled! I`m glad that the video from Mike and Tre was posted though! I know it wont put a complete stop to the speculation (no, Billie isn`t dieing people! so quit with the "they didn`t say he would be ok" rubbish! jesus! ) but it was the best way of confirming that their appearance was cancelled. the guy has a stomach condition..he needs a night in hospital to be on the safe side. ONE NIGHT! its minor! and to all those who keep doing the "has he got cancer?" thing....... get a bloody grip!
EsterJoe Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 This is the SECOND time a festvial with Green Day has been cancelled. I was in Venice in 2010 and now this...FUCK
Harry Potter. Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Oh my goodness. This is so sad. And that lots of fans won't get to see their heroes tonight, and that Billie has stomach pains. This is just horribly terrible.
Nimrod2309 Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 I feel awful for the Italian fans. Having to face the disappointment of a cancelled show must be devastating, especially for the ones who have travelled a long way and planned it for months. However, I am sure the members of Green Day feel terrible that this has happened, but it is out of their control. It sounds like Billie Joe had more than just a stomach ache otherwise they would not have kept him in hospital. The man LOVES to perform. I truly believe if he thought there was any way possible he could have made this show happen, he would have. I hope he feels better soon. They will make it up to the Italian fans as soon as they can. *off topic-I have been mega ill since the Shepherd's Bush show. I am convinced there was some bad shit in the air there.
Benny. Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 I was there... Tré cool told us that Billie was in the hospital.... Actually I laughed. I thought he was only kidding. Then I started crying.... we went to the hospital, billie was on the 4th floor I can't believe. It's the second time. Wake me up when september ends.
Rianne Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 We were there... we pulled an allnighter driving from Konstanz to Bologna to be on time to get a good spot... after hours of trying to get into the pit area, the security removed the fences from the pit area, so everyone could get out, and we heard some announcement in Italian, and the only thing we could understand was Billie Joe and hospital.. after that we heard an announcement from Tre and Mike, but we already knew enough........ Damn this sucks. Driving 8 hours from Konstanz..... we got a day driving ahead of us tomorrow, were going home. This sucks.. I hope Billie feels better soon..
Heather. Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 It really sucks, but it sucks doubly when you hear stories about "that guy from Brazil who planned this for months and travelled so long to get there." THAT's the heartbreaker for me. We know they'll come back to Italy. Billie will be just fine. If it was serious Mike & Tre would have been more "But right now we're just hoping for Billie to get better." You could tell that the devastation is about the performance being cancelled, NOT Billie's tummy aches (But I'm sure it's serious enough to cancel the show... remember that Australian show where they were like "Sorry... one of us had dysentery" )
pisquano Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Guys that's incredible! That's all I can say. I just got back home. I wasn't in Venice two years ago to see them, but I imagine how bad the fans that for the second time don't see them feel. I feel bad too, I was really excited. New songs to hear, fan favorities. And a great, really great Social Distortion performance in the afternoon..And then the announcement. Hope he feels good right now, we are waiting for them to come back.

21stcenturyidiot Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 I don't know if this sounds like a good idea, but since he's very upset about the show being cancelled, shall we make a real quick, "Get Well Soon Billie Joe" video for him? That'd be awesome! Really like that idea!
Todd Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Im so sad Billie's sick, and sorry to all the fans who didnt get to see Billie, but Mike Tre and Jasons, and the other backup guys are fully capable of putting on a show by themselves. But I know a lot of not hard-core fans who only care about Billie would be booing them.
heart on a noose Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 God, that's terrible. I feel sorry for all the fans. I know one guy who was really looking forward to this show. Eh.. And for the Billie, I know he is just a human being like anyone else and we shouldn't make a big deal out of it, but I'm just so sad and idk worried. I hope it's nothing serious, and gosh be better soon as possible Billie. <3
Schlappy Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 (no, Billie isn`t dieing people! so quit with the "they didn`t say he would be ok" rubbish! jesus! ) Hey my comment wasnt rubbish! obviously he's going to be fine because they were far more concerned about cancelling the show than they were Billies health, but it would just be nice to hear you know? would make me happy
Seanz25 Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 I have a severe illness and have experienced a lot of pain. Let me tell you stomach ache is by far the most awkward to deal with and uncomfortable to have. Best of luck to BJA. Finger's crossed for a quick recovery.
Hermione Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Im so sad Billie's sick, and sorry to all the fans who didnt get to see Billie, but Mike Tre and Jasons, and the other backup guys are fully capable of putting on a show by themselves. The band needs their lead singer/frontman to play a show, that's just the way it is.
21stcenturyidiot Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 I've made a topic for us to make a get welll video if anyone is interested
Farah Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Gosh it seems like lately when they're going to perform in Italy something happens to cancel the show. Hope he gets well soon!
Heather. They absolutely can't perform without Billie. Absolutely could not even happen.
blitzkriegdeb Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 I will never see them. They'll be plenty of opportunities in the future! I know it's hard to look at right now, but at least you can be happy that Billie's in good hands and resting, rather than jeopardizing his own or other people's health. He wouldn't have wanted to perform at a concert where he couldn't give 110%.
joeysturkeyhead Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 From what we've been given to understand Billie doesn't have a stomach cancer, bust just some stomach aches, EVERYONE gets stomach aches every so often, as a matter of fact I've been dealing with one all day, do you feel worse for me than for all the fans who had been planning to go to this show since march? people who got very excited, some that maybe even counted the days left before the show? or even worse, people who already got let down in Venice and now in Bologna too? I don't, you probably don't either, and as cool and as talented as Billie Joe is, at the end of the day he's just a person, like everyone else who gets stomach aches. So until we get some news that point to something serious, like Billie needing surgery or a long term treatment, I don't see anything wrong with feeling worse for the fans, or equally as sorry for them as for Billie. Well I never said a shit about stonach cancer, I'm just saying that I feel terrible for the fans but Billie got hospitalised so you can forget your "everyone". Of course everyone gets stomach aches, but not everyone gets hospitalised. It may have been food poisoning or more likely stress, maybe. So my point is that I'd rather feel bad for the guy who got hospitalised than the people who didn't vet to see a concert.
Benny. Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 They'll be plenty of opportunities in the future! He wouldn't have wanted to perform at a concert where he couldn't give 110%. Yes but it's the second time... the first was the Heineken festival, do you remember? Thank you, it's the first minute i don't cry ahah! Hope he will get well soon, now he has Adie:)
Heather. Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Well it's also the case where if he *wasn't* hospitalized people might say he's wimping out on the concert (Remember how Mike was exploding from both ends all throughout their Giants Stadium show and didn't complain? ) Of course this happens on the anniversary of Pants-Gate 2011. But instead of saggy pants, he's probably got his pants completely off and some Italian man probing his anus. Sorry, nothing to joke about This does truly suck for everyone.
Katarina. Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 That really sucks. But nobody's healthy or perfectly fine every day of the year, so I'm not surprised Billie had to be hospitalized and he has to take some rest. Sucks for the fans, but I'm sure Green Day will be back next year to rock Italy!
