basKT_case90 Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 The uncensored version is so much more better. Things i've noticed that is different from the clean version: - mike raises his middle finger while on his bike - the camera stays on Billie during the swearing parts - the two girls fighting begins now with a bottle smash to the neck !!!
Kaddi. Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Well, I actually liked it. The part with the motorcycles seems kinda disconnected to the rest of the video though, so no idea why it's in there. But, in my opinion, the rest of the video goes really well with the song. Yes, there are a few too many half-naked girls making out, but whatever. Nevertheless, I really like the whole club theme and how the guys are wandering through all the people, looking lost and tired. I think that really represents what the song is about.
uhleckseee Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Good elements, but bad execution. I liked the Oh Love video better because at least that one had a general feel to it. This one jumps around. I have this idea that with BIAB and even after, Sam Bayer got cocky with what he's able to do. He has to go all out, show everything he can do in one video, and put all of his ideas for one thing together. That's cool, the guy's got heart and spirit, and that's necessary of a director and an artist. However, you have to know when to just cool it. Editing effects, cool scenes, they're all awesome, but when you have a band seemingly riding through the desert on motorcycles and then (I guess?) showing up to watch themselves perform on stage, while the crowd gets into fights and ends up covered in blood of a chick who just got beat the shit out of.....it's just too much. It's confusing. What was the point? I wish the guys walking in could have had some interaction with people. Instead, they just looked as confused as I did watching this. (Again, cool scenes, dug the motorcycle, dug the energy of the club, it just didn't flow, man)
alaniluau Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 I adore this song, but I don't find the video memorable. I hope the boys look to other directors in the future because Sam Bayer leaves much to be desired. Also, where was the Jason?
BradGreenDay Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 I am happy now i waited till 5 Oclock in the morning to Watch this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sooooooo Worth It!!!
insomniax Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 I prefer Oh Love. Kill the Dj is a great song and I really liked the beginning of this video, but the parts with the band performing in the club kind of turned me off. It looks cheap and it's just..I don't know, I don't like it. I think they should try to work with another director for the next video cause Bayer seems to have lost his magic powers.
Hermione Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Already loved the video, the good quality dirrrty version is even better. I'm a happy bunny
Harinezumi Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 I think they should try to work with another director for the next video cause Bayer seems to have lost his magic powers. I don't think he had any to begin with. JOS was pretty good though.
Kitty Purry Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Watching Billie Joe riding a bike in HD is even more HILARIOUS!!!! Mike looks like batman! He's so badass I can't even deal. Overall I really LOVE the band in this!don't really care for the hipster crowd even though they do bring the LULZ but in a bad way.
sick Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 I love it too!! I think this new 'happier' direction in their music is very nice and kind of reflects what I feel right now. During American Idiot when i became a fan I was a teeanger full of anger. Now i'm living a very happy phase in my life so i rather listen to this!! And live should not be taken so seriously!! They've had their serious(boring) music videos enough now. Like that Wake me up when september ends. Thats a good example for a very boring music vid. whiny, boring. I rather take this right here, right now. Sexy
Holly Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 I don't get it.. I far prefer the Oh Love video to this. I don't like the way this has been been shot, despite Oh Love with all the sexy girls seeming to have no point, I atleast liked the style of it; composure and lighting and stuff. Plus I like sexy girls. I can't put my finger on why, but this video feels a bit amature. What has the motorbike bit got to do with anything? They just spend ages riding through the desert. Mike looks really badass on his bike but Billie and Tre look hilarious, Tre reminds me of Toad in Wind in the Willows Billie looks pretty strange walking through the club as well, it reminds me of one particular photoshoot when they photoshopped him to hell Mehh, I'm not really bothered whether I like the videos or not anyway.
Alan86 Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Tre reminds me of Toad in Wind in the Willows Wow, I can totally see that now
BradGreenDay Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 I dont get it one moment all of you say that the Oh Love video is crap, then next minute all of you are saying its good and this one is the crappy one!!! I dont care i like Both Songs and videos anyway!!!
Soroush Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 I wish it was shot in a real club. it really is amature. you can easily notice that the band an people are in different locations and even the people are not is a disco.
SamMacs Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 The big question is, which of Green Day's video party's was the best: Waiting, Holiday, Oh Love or Kill The Dj? Anyway I think that this video is pretty good. But it's like something is missing to make it really good, killing of actual djs maybe

Intentional They arriving in to the club is sexy. I wish they had collaborated with lady gaga in this one. Imagine lady gaga suddenly performing IN DA CLUB and they hop to the stage with her doing crazy dance moves. Maybe some pole dancing.

insomniax Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 I don't think he had any to begin with. JOS was pretty good though. I love all the videos from AI and I think JOS is a freaking masterpiece.. but then again, I've been strangely obsessed with that album and it's story for the past 7 years...so, no wonder. Samuel Bayer has, in my opinon, done some amazing stuff (not just with green day) in the past. Now days it's like he's trying to hard or maybe just don't give a shit, it's hard to tell.

yuan Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 i don't like it, i think motorcycle scene is fine, the rest just meh
greendepent Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Ok, is time to "Kill the director" as well.
SamMacs Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 or maybe a little more energy or humor. Could be that simple. These two videos has looked a bit uninspired.
X-Saint Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 So I didn't like the video until I read this comment... Nice video! I think the video fits the song. Billie said in some interviews that the song is about "static and noise", media controlling people's minds (from what I remember). "Onward Christian soldiers filled with jivin' mind control" For me, in the first part of the video, the band is free, free of the mind-control of the media. Riding motorcycles represents freedom (it was used in several movies before). And they're having fun! Also, they're riding in the desert... no one else is there, the people who are free of mind-control are rare. But then, they're caught by the media somehow and they ended up in that place where media can control - the dancefloor. It is crowded and apparently people are having fun there, because media says you're supposed to have fun on dancefloors. And the dancefloor could also represent a lot of pop and dance music that is on mainstream today. But the band knows better. They're unimpressed. It is like the media can't control them and make them have fun with all that's being thrown in their direction. It seems to me that even when they're playing, they aren't having fun. Billie seems to be mad while he sings, warning everybody. This is my first impression. My interpretation might be wrong, though. Sorry if I didn't express myself well Your comment has changed my mind and now I like this video and the song even more.
Soroush Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Ok, is time to "Kill the director" as well. Nice The video is alright but I just expected more from a director like Sam
