Gwen Stacy Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 ...It's a talk show. She doesn't just talk about being gay all the time... I didn't say she did and I wouldn't assume she would, I was just trying to think of reasons why they would go there and not on Letterman again or something like that
Femme Gauche Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Some girl tweeted in reply to the producer '' If they're not playing Wake me up When September Ends , I'm cancelling the Ellen Show '' she really thinks they would play an 8 year old song to promote 3 new albums... *facepalm* *pokes my post above* Yeah, it's really stupid :/. I didn't say she did and I wouldn't assume she would, I was just trying to think of reasons why they would go there and not on Letterman again or something like that ...Why is Ellen not a suitable alternative?
Hidingfromcrazies Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 I didn't say she did and I wouldn't assume she would, I was just trying to think of reasons why they would go there and not on Letterman again or something like that Well, they've been on Letterman so many damn times! Why not Ellen? She's cool and besides it would be nice to see them during the day. LOL I'm chuckling over the first thing to point out being that it's an Ellen show............GAY......come on now people
warding_off_regrets Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 I'll put this in the same category as Angry Birds Green Day: Dafuq? But, should be really cool. Didn't the guys support that alternative prom for LGBT high school kids a few years back? (And the whole Pansy Division thing of course) Haha, she's a talk show host that happens to be gay. She's out, she's comfortable in her skin, and she's an advocate for human rights, but her sexuality plays into the actual show about as much as any other host's would (i.e., not much). It's not any different than when they play for Carson Daly or Good Morning America. Different shows have different audiences, so they just want to reach whatever demographic will watch Ellen. I really hope they do an interview, she's very funny and I think the guys would play well off of her. But, just a performance is fantastic too.
1039SweetChildren Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 I didn't say she did and I wouldn't assume she would, I was just trying to think of reasons why they would go there and not on Letterman again or something like that They could easily do both and other shows too. most acts make their rounds on almost all the talk shows when promoting.
eastbayweirdo Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Yay! Her show usually is pretty good. I'm not too big on talk shows but I've stumbled onto hers a few times and her interviews are funny! I hope they're interviewed and they perform.
Hidingfromcrazies Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Ya an interview with GD would be great.
Femme Gauche Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 I'm with everyone who is hoping for an interview with her, though... I'd love to see that interaction.
Todd Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 do we have a date? obviously when they get back to USA. when is that?
Heather. Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 I didn't say she did and I wouldn't assume she would, I was just trying to think of reasons why they would go there and not on Letterman again or something like that Because no one likes David Letterman but everyone loves Ellen Degeneres. They'll still do Letterman. do we have a date? obviously when they get back to USA. when is that? Sometime in September, it'll be.
-Billiejoezee- Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 I really want tickets for this and i'm trying to find out how to get them right now.
beejeezee Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 I really want tickets for this and i'm trying to find out how to get them right now. Get me one! Me and my mom need to go.
ChelseaDagger Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Some girl tweeted in reply to the producer '' If they're not playing Wake me up When September Ends , I'm cancelling the Ellen Show '' she really thinks they would play an 8 year old song to promote 3 new albums... *facepalm* Weird! I know that AI came out in 2004 but that just doesn't SEEM like it could possibly be 8 years old already! It was just weird to see it in writing
-Billiejoezee- Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Get me one! Me and my mom need to go. I'm checking but i don't even know what day they're playing! All of September is booked.
M1KEY Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 I really hope they talk about bullying, it's something that means a lot to both Ellen and Green Day, not to mention to myself.
gerardsangel4977 Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 I'll put this in the same category as Angry Birds Green Day: Dafuq? But, should be really cool. Didn't the guys support that alternative prom for LGBT high school kids a few years back? (And the whole Pansy Division thing of course) Lol, I don't think it's that weird. Green Day have been on morning talk/news programs before. And, tbh, I much prefer Ellen to the more generic ones like Good Morning America (though that outdoor concert in Central Park was pretty cool ). And, yes, I actually remember Ellen tweeting around that time that she had gained even more respect for Green Day after seeing that they had helped sponsor that prom.
Heather. Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 And, yes, I actually remember Ellen tweeting around that time that she had gained even more respect for Green Day after seeing that they had helped sponsor that prom. Thanks for pointing that out: https://twitter.com/...tus/11000674373 March 24, 2010: Ellen DeGeneresVerified@TheEllenShow @GreenDay, I've always loved your music and now I love you more. http://su.pr/1vRYP0 There's also footage of Ellen Degeneres clapping at the Grammys in the Driven documentary
No Rhyme Or Reason Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Yay, I love Ellen! Her show is always good! Is this the first time Green Day's been on Ellen's show? I hope that she interviews them after they perform, she usually doesn't. I've only seen a legit interview with the performer once, I think. But it'd be nice, since her interviews are always different and funny. Crossing my fingers! It's exciting to see Green Day get back into doing television appearances. First Ellen, and surely some late night shows like Jay Leno or Jimmy Fallon will be announced soon too, right? Can't wait! I love seeing Green Day on TV all the time
Mar Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 UM OK MY TWO FAVORITE BANDS JUST LET ME DIE HERE YOU GUYS
greendepent Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Always loved when they perform on TV. Hope someone records that. Probably they make some Letterman and Fallon. Letterman is always special. You know what I mean PD: Do Carson still in air?
Burnout98 Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Awesome, Ellen's a great show! Looking forward to this
Nemo. Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 awesome news but who is that woman? i've never heard of her before.
Sixtrix Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Really awesome news! Does anyone know how it usually goes with musical guests, if they also get interviewed or if it's usually only a performance? I've only seen bits of interviews from her show on youtube, and they are always great and pretty funny. I also remember always watching her sitcom Ellen, which was silly but funny as well. They recently started broadcasting her talk show on Dutch tv, I just need to find out if those are new episodes or older ones.
