WillForADay Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 If it weren't for us you wouldn't even have seen the photos, and the full Oh Love video. After already having everything saved on your computer it's pretty easy to point fingers. But lets stop worrying about sources and all this stupidity, the important thing is making content accessible to the fans! Thanks! I almost don't post in this forum, and will continue not to because of all the hypocrites. To sum up what everyone is saying: FUCK OFF.
No Rhyme Or Reason Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 I personally hope the albums don't leak. I like letting the anticipation build up. And really, it's just over a month away now, I can wait the last few weeks. Especially with all the songs we've been getting to hear! Any more and it would ruin the album! Plus, then everyone would listen to it, and I wouldn't, then I'd have to avoid GDC
Comrade Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Anyone who actively wants the albums to leak is an utter, absolute arsehole. It's leaks like that which hurt sales of music and the industry in general. If they release the music early themselves, they obviously want people to hear it. If some media dick puts the songs on a torrent that its a betrayal of the band's trust and just ruins the surprise and build up to the big day. You guys calling for a leak....you're not true music fans. You can't get what it's all about. In other news, it's great to hear that the songs are getting a good reaction. Also nice to see a band give something back to the media. Those are cool gifts.

WrongWayToSalvation Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 YEAH. Fuck privacy!! Fans are way more important that what Green Day wants! Now let me continue sorting through Billie Joe's trash can. I'll watermark some photos of his electric bill and send them over later. Can you find out what his service provider is?

You guys calling for a leak....you're not true music fans. You can't get what it's all about. When Kid A by Radiohead was leaked on the Internet they didn't mind. They said it was actually a good thing. It's more about the music, less about the money. I'm sure Green Day is already loaded enough, they said that sales don't matter them anyway. They have 3, count em 3 albums coming out. Even if all 3 albums are leaked, the total sales of the albums put together once their released will more than make up for that.
skindogfuss Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 I don't think they got a CD of the trilogy guys... just the discography album coming out later this month...

Fuzz Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Fuck off. He has a legit point. If it leaks, it will likely hurt the band. The record label is spending a lot of money in promoting and trying to make this weird idea of a trilogy a success. Anyone in the press leaking it out would be a dick move. I really doubt theyre getting copies of the trilogy, probably just listening.
Alan86 Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 It's all getting very hostile in here. It's been happening a lot lately actually
ChelseaDagger Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Jennyfer J. Walker ‏@jen_kerrang Just went to hear the new Green Day albums at the Soho Hotel. We got GD goodies, plus Tre Cool came out. Best listening party EVER. Ryan Cooper ‏@_RyanCooper Just been to the Green Day listening party and can confirm that the 3 albums have some bangers!! Oh that's so friggin' awesome!!! Can't wait to hear some album reviews!!!
Comrade Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 What's wrong with someone listening to a leak, if they already have the boxset preordered? Nothing. That is ultimately a very limited demographic. More people would download a torrent than fork out £60 or whatever it was for a boxed set. So no, not nothing. Aaaaaaanyway let's all just agree that it is a good thing Green Day are getting some love shall we?

I really doubt theyre getting copies of the trilogy, probably just listening. I agree with you now that I'm actually thinking about it, I doubt they'd get copies of the trilogy. Also I can't respect whatever point he makes when he says "if you're hoping for a leak you're not a true fan" because that's just balls to the wall absurd. But in all honestly, I don't think a leak would hurt Green Day as much as it would other bands.
WrongWayToSalvation Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 It's all getting very hostile in here. It's been happening a lot lately actually TENSION! We need to have a circle jerk in here.
Clayish Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 In this day and age, it would be NORMAL for it to leak.

I listened to the new Linkin Park album when it was leaked. I thought it was utter shit, however because I listened to the leak I felt obligated to buy a copy. With the trilogy, I already have the boxset preordered, so I don't see how me listening to a UNO DOS or TRE leak will hurt the band.
greendepent Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 What if Uno! leaks soon? That would be cool.
Alan86 Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 TENSION! We need to have a circle jerk in here. Ha. I think people just need to calm down. Internet arguments are very entertaining though

Plus, then everyone would listen to it, and I wouldn't, then I'd have to avoid GDC You won't need to avoid GDC 'cause the albums won't be leaked I like all the surprises too, and what we already get is too much. There's songs I haven't listened, like the preview of 99 Revolutions. It's not too long 'til UNO and I can't wait!! But definitely everything feels better when happens naturally
WillForADay Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 When Foo's realeased Wasting Light it leaked 1 week before. Before end of day Facebook/twitter post by Grohl saying "Finally it leaked, i was starting to think no one cared" (along them lines can't remember exactly) and they posted the stream on there website. Just shows that it's normal they were expecting it and had the stream ready to go. Such a shame it's like this. I personally love opening a CD putting it in having only heard the singles.
Fuzz Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 They're already practically millionaires, AND they said in interviews that sales don't matter to them. They are millionaires, not practically millionaires. No, it wouldn't personally hurt them. They're set for life financially. But if record sales for two albums in a row are pretty bad (21 cb didn't sell well) that begins to have an affect with what kind of risks their record label are willing to let them take and get away with. I think that if the album leaks and you listen to it, doesn't matter if you like it or not, you should buy it. If the whole world thought like you, then yes, no problem.
Carol Ahmed Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Oh boy, why don't I live in England and work there for some magazine? hahaha Brazilian journalists dont get these listening parties... well, not with Green Day records! haha
