Clayish Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 This song did not help to make me think that Uno will be an awesome album. It's mediocre at best like most of the other songs I've heard so far. I'm really not one of those people who bash Green Day for trying out new stuff, but I just don't think that the new songs have the same quality as their older ones did. Couldn't agree more. Let Yourself Go has been the only great song, with 3 pretty mediocre songs.

Especially when the band says these are suppose to be the best songs they've ever written. I'm starting to think they only said that to generate hype. They tend to say when they release their new album like any other bands. As I heard, they just said that we have the best time of our lives, and going epic as fuck. I didn't heard about the beset songs though.

It looks like Billie wrote these songs just to put out as fast as he could. Maybe I am wrong, but he is a great writer, and it's hard to see quite boring and repetitive lyrics from him. Neon Light Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Reminds me of All the Time, which isn't such a good thing. It's one of their only songs that I will almost always skip. However while I don't think it will be a single, or played live, I think it will work as an album track.

I love the new styles they're exploring and am just genuinely excited for the trilogy.

I said that I use critic reviews as a way to set my expectations, so that I won't wind up being disappointed with an album. Jesus, a lot of you people don't seem to pay attention to anything, you just generalize and warp it. My comment wasn't related at you or infact anyone - I was just giving my opinion about it .... "Nah, fans will like anything that has our name attached to it!" That is one way to see it, but I highly doubt the band is resting on their laurels with this trilogy. They just worked hard to create a new album (but ended up with three) and when you got more songs to offer with a great variety of songs there will definetely be mixed opinions. It's just that the albums have something to offer to everyone. Maybe not a full album for everyone's likings, but they don't write songs so they know for sure that a big percentage of the audience will like it. They feel good about the new songs, but that's never a guarantee to have a great selling album or an album that is liked by a wide audience. Apart from this I think it is great how you strongly show your opinion, obviously because you care. I just hope you will find some songs on the new albums that you will like a lot, because you at least deserve that as a fan of course. And it always sucks to be disappointed. I've had that feeling with the last two albums of The Living End.

Everyone was digging the songs when it was first released and how professional they sounded. It also was the first time Green Day released material in 5 years so everyone was loving it, and those songs were just fantastic.

I think these records will be better than American Idiot, and I know that's not a popular opinion but it is mine. I'd listen to Foxboro over AI any day. I'm really excited that Green Day are making fun/dance-y music. I would not be happy with another concept album. Right now I personally need some cheering up and this music is doing just that! Green Day have done the 'serious' side of things and I'm over the moon that they are writing music with silly or simple lyrics that put a smile on my face. After all if you want some 'great lyrics like on American Idiot' you can always pop that record on. Me, I like change.
