HandGrenade39 Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I love it! I think it's better than Oh Love and Kill The DJ.
WrongWayToSalvation Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 #1 Rolling Stone has Uno! as the #1 album for this fall, and they've been on their dick recently so I'm expecting a good review. 4/5 #2 Don't judge to quickly, but yes, Uno! is on track for being the weakest so far, but we have a lot of tracks to hear. #3 KANYE, not Kayne. #4 Ye da gawd. MBDTF is a masterpiece. I'm sorry, I'm typing on an iPad and I SUCK at touch screen shit. And that is true RS has been revering Green Day ever since 21st CB. Maybe...maybe the label is bribing them..........................?

petros Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Why do you care so much about critics? Have you heard to Warning?
Tubbie Head Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 YES!! I'm loving this song already!! And I'm loving the game too
WrongWayToSalvation Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Why do you care so much about critics? Have you heard to Warning? ....have you heard to Warning? Uh...what? And actually Warning has a higher score than 21st CB, it's their 2nd highest ranked album on Metacritic. And I don't care about critics THAT much. If you actually read my post you'd notice that I said that they help me to set my expectations
holyshitaflyingbanna Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Let Yourself Go>Trouble maker>Oh Love<Kill The DJ This is how is see the released tracks so far...

If you actually read my post you'd notice that I said that they help me to set my expectations I meant the hole album and overal it had the worst critics.Check it on wiki. And I read your previous post but for me it's stupid to set expectations...Listen to the records and if you like those songs ok.If not you listen to whatever else you like
Raven93 Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Who gives a shit what critics think ? Seriously ... All that matters is that you like it not someone else telling you to like it because it got a good/bad review ?
Dalya Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Critics always like stuff that usual people dislike... fact! The same thing I can say about Warning and 21CB which are no way near AI, Dookie, and Insomniac regarding sales...
drugstore hooligan Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Kinda sucks we got half the song. Might as well give us the whole thing now cough
WrongWayToSalvation Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Critics always like stuff that usual people dislike... fact! The same thing I can say about Warning and 21CB which are no way near AI, Dookie, and Insomniac regarding sales... Sales don't dictate an album's quality. And critics liking stuff that people don't like is in fact not a fact. Millions of people love Kanye West, and he gets critical acclaim. Millions of people love Outkast, and they get critical acclaim. Millions of people love Radiohead, and they get critical acclaim. Hundreds of thousand of people love Ths Black Keys, and they get critical acclaim. Hundreds of thousands of people love Arcade Fire, and they get critical acclaim. The only artists that don't receive acclaim are the artists that aren't really that unique, or stand out that much from the rest. A lot of critics have probably listened to music longer than you've been alive, and have assuredly listen to way more bands/artists than you have. I'm pretty sure they know what they're talking about.
Holly Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I couldn't care less if every magazine in the world awarded it 0 stars providing I like it. I love the sound of everything I've heard so far. I've spent the last seven years of my life being bombarded with comments from all my friends and family telling me Green Day are a load of shit, doesn't mean they are. Someone elses opinion isn't going to alter mine. I can't stop listening to Troublemaker, it's fantastic. Yeah, the chorus lets it down a little, but the verses are great.
WrongWayToSalvation Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Who gives a shit what critics think ? Seriously ... All that matters is that you like it not someone else telling you to like it because it got a good/bad review ? I never once said that. I said that I use critic reviews as a way to set my expectations, so that I won't wind up being disappointed with an album. Jesus, a lot of you people don't seem to pay attention to anything, you just generalize and warp it.

Correct me if I am wrong, but what you are saying is that from what you've heard from Uno! you do not really like very much, but if it gets a lot if positive critics and millions of people buy the album, you consider it as widely accepted and only then you can allow yourself to like the album?
WrongWayToSalvation Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Correct me if I am wrong, but what you are saying is that from what you've heard from Uno! You do not really like very much, but if it gets a lot if positive critics and millions of people buy the album, you concluded it as widely accepted and only then you can allow yourself to like the album? No, I said that I allow critic reviews to HELP (not dictate) set my expectations. I start out with leveled expectations. If I hear a song I like they raise a little bit. If I hear a song I don't like then they lower. If critical reception is good then I keep them where they are and hopefully like it. If critical reception isn't that great then I lower them so I won't wind up being too disappointed. Sales don't dictate an albums quality either, but there are albums and artists that receive acclaim and have good sales at the same time. If an album does sale a lot it usually means it's been accepted by the general public, not necessarily critics. The general public listen to music more passively than critics, while critics really analyze the music and lyrics.
Idiotic Tendency... Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I couldn't care less if every magazine in the world awarded it 0 stars providing I like it. I bought an American Idiot bag for school like 5 years ago and people were laughing and saying stuff like green day are shit and they cant even write songs but that never stopped me liking them. I kept that bag up until the end of school. I don't really need to take a bag in to college but when i do i take that one.
Kaddi. Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 This song did not help to make me think that Uno will be an awesome album. It's mediocre at best like most of the other songs I've heard so far. I'm really not one of those people who bash Green Day for trying out new stuff, but I just don't think that the new songs have the same quality as their older ones did.
WrongWayToSalvation Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 This is probably the most mixed reactions I've ever seen for any of Green Day's albums. That must mean something. Especially when the band says these are suppose to be the best songs they've ever written. I'm starting to think they only said that to generate hype.

It's a differing opinion...but you phrase it as an opinion and not fact. Kudos to you!! Along these lines, I have been an AVID fan since Dookie and don't think that any of their old stuff comes close to this. I feel like this is some of the best, most catchy music that they have ever written. Hope your opinion cnages once all the albums are out :-)

oscar is a nimrod Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 What happened to the great hooks green day used to practically pour on us! Sure it will be better on the full album but hasn't really caught my attention yet, bearing in mind all I can really hear are angry birds and it is playing through iPod speakers.

I'm glad it really came across the way I wanted though, thanks. I really hope there will be some songs on Uno that will just blow me away like most other Green Day songs did when I first listened to them. I'm still looking forward to the album, I just can't get super excited about it yet, because I haven't heard a mind blowing track so far. Normally, I would listen to a new Green Day song nonstop for weeks, but with these songs... I listen to them once or twice and then I get tired of them.
