Tashidge Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I'm aiming to get there for around 2 or so. As Bryony says, don't underestimate the fangirls and them getting there at a ridiculous time of the morning.
San Miguel Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Yeah i was thinking of heading down early afternoon and will be travelling by car IF i get a ticket. have to keep reminding myself it's not likely to happen. was just gonna park near a tube station on the outskirts - where are you parking Joshh? the website for the venue itself says you can park right next to it for only £3 but my chances of finding it and not ending up in Southampton or something are slim!! IF IF IF IF IF!
PaulS Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 ^ Do not underestimate fangirls. Remember this open to all ages. I'm aiming to get there for around 2 or so. As Bryony says, don't underestimate the fangirls and them getting there at a ridiculous time of the morning. Yeah, perhaps aiming for when the box office opens is a good plan. Just have these visions of being the only sucker there for the next 4 hours. was just gonna park near a tube station on the outskirts - where are you parking Joshh? the website for the venue itself says you can park right next to it for only £3 but my chances of finding it and not ending up in Southampton or something are slim!! Don't even bother thinking about trying to park near the venue. Seriously. Just go to a Zone 5 tube and save yourself the heartache of finding no parking spaces in a 20 mile radius
Agija Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Good luck to everyone who's going! It's going to be an amazing show. I wish I had any chances to get there.

IF IF IF IF IF! I have absolutely no idea. I figured i would just find the nearest multistory to SB. I have a sat nav so i'll try and get as close to the venue as possible

IF IF IF IF IF! The only problem with that is tubes are really infrequent late at night. If not Swiss Cottage is a good place to park.
Moriarty Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Yeah I'm worried about parking too, as I've been to this venue before and it's the worse to drive around (I was on foot and watched the gridlock), I think parking nearer a tube station further out and tubing in will be easiest as there is a station within 3 minutes or so of the venue.

burnout409 Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Is anyone planing on going and from the Milton Keynes direction? If so if you're planning on driving would a lift be possible? Will provide money for fuel and food/drinks. Even if not driving traveling together? Rather than going alone.
.Holly Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I'm aiming to get there for around 2 or so. As Bryony says, don't underestimate the fangirls and them getting there at a ridiculous time of the morning. Hopefully there won't be too many of them at this short notice. It's a real shame it's still the school holidays!

Remember this is London we're talking about. You could park around Leytonstone Tube Station and then take the Central Line to Shepherd's Bush. Then, on your way back, you'll be right on your way to Norwich.
PaulS Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 ta, will do my sense of direction is on a par with James May at the best of times So long as you don't share a haircut, I'm sure you'll be fine
San Miguel Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 The only problem with that is tubes are really infrequent late at night. If not Swiss Cottage is a good place to park. thanks Bryony - that looks really easy to get to from where i would enter London. will ponder once i know if it's happening or not
Joey Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Westfield is up the road. You could probably park there. Correction, you can because I did when I saw NOFX there a couple of months ago. 5 min walk from venue.
Holly Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I'm aiming to get there for around 2 or so. As Bryony says, don't underestimate the fangirls and them getting there at a ridiculous time of the morning. I'd do it for a Stadium show... Hahaa, all those damn fangirls, it's not like we camped outside for Wembley or anything, Tasha Nah, I would queue from first thing in the morning if I wasn't at Leeds, but then, I am a bit of a fangirl myself.
WhatsUpLucas Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I hope I can get some sleep tonight? Don't get too much though, you can't risk missing the pre-sale/sale.
Daddy. Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I could be there for any time after 10:30/11 and if I wear a certain BJA jacket I suppose we could all queue together. That's only if i'm taking the bus down early, might be getting a lift yet
daria02 Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 If there are a group of GDCers there and I manage to get there would I be welcome to join?
Undómiel Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Don't get too much though, you can't risk missing the pre-sale/sale. Lol. I wouldn't. I'm setting my alarm.
Holly Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I sleep through all my alarms, which terrifies me. Pretty sure I'm not gonna be able to get to sleep in the first place though.
solongfromthestars Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 If there are a group of GDCers there and I manage to get there would I be welcome to join? You can join us if we manage to get there early I really have no idea which bus to get though. I'll wait till we know what's going on with tickets to book.
San Miguel Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 ugh, hope the anxious wait is worth it for all. hope you're all successful (and me too) and i can see you on Thursday!
WhatsUpLucas Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I sleep through all my alarms, which terrifies me. So do I. I set three alarms so that I would wake up at 10 today. Woke up at almost 2pm.
