NickD Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 I love the TV Yellow. And always have had a soft spot for the double cutaway. If I wasn't in so much surgery debt, I'd contemplate it, to add to the collection
jayjaded Posted August 21, 2012 Author Posted August 21, 2012 I have the Les Paul Jr. in ivory and I love it. I have the Mike Dirnt P-Bass and have learned to love and appreciate the bass riffs that Mike plays. Last winter I saved up enough to buy the j-180 and it's fucking great as well. AND as the maker of Blue replicas on BJGuitars.com I, of course, have several replicas of Blue. So, yeah, I was DEFINITELY going to buy the new sig guitar and actually came on here right now to start a topic to see why those pages were removed. I can't even find any info on them when I google it. What gives??? Talk to me about the j-180. Any vids of you playing it on youtube? I am in the market and im in between a guild d-40 and Larrivee DRE05 But now im thinking about this one. nah its the epiphone reissue that was limited edition, was about $800 I have 4 of them - sunburst, tv yellow twice (the UU plant and DW plant) and a korina one. They all have had the p-100s swaped with Gibson p-90s. You really in the market? We could talk.
billiejoephil Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Talk to me about the j-180. Any vids of you playing it on youtube? I am in the market and im in between a guild d-40 and Larrivee DRE05 But now im thinking about this one. There's no demo or review as such on YouTube. I got the J-180 for Christmas and it is an awesome guitar indeed. The sound is amazing, it's crystal clear, loud and warm. I also love the Fisman pickup it has, gives the guitar a nice resonance and provides an overwhelming performance when plugged into an acoustic amp. The only downside of it is the fact that you have to take off at least 2 strings to have enough space in order to change battery. But that hasn't happened to me yet, and I've played a lot with it. As far as the looks are concerned, the Gibson J-180 is unbeatable. It's the most beatiful guitar for me personally, the moustache pickguards look great and don't influence the natural sound of this beauty at all. Summing up, I'd definitely recommend the Billie Joe Armstrong J-180. It's a great guitar which is an investment ladting for a lifetime, provided you handle it care. I hope I could help, if there's any more questions, feel free to ask!
billiejoephil Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Wow, still no info at all (!!) on the new Billie Joe Junior. I thought they were going to release it on August 20, I mean srsly: what the heck?
Kevin RP Dirnt Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Still nothing about the guitar?? I've been searching everywhere, even for some news or something. Nothing on Gibsons page, nothing anywhere else. I'm just crazy for DC junior guitars, and I seriously want it so baaadly If anyone knows anything, please, please, tell us
Kevin RP Dirnt Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Hey guys!! Still nothing yet 30 mins ago y decided to make a "desired" BJA junior guitar, single cut, and that could seem pretty nice Added new pick guard and adeline skull, not the proper one, but as the one billie has in his white junior double cut special By the way, image quality is quite low, but anyways, hope you like it!
billiejoephil Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Apparently, Guitar Center will have BJ's new signature guitar in stock in September. I saw some pictures of their new magazine/catalogue or so in the net which advertises the new Billie Joe Junior. Hopefully there's more info soon!
Jet Taman Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Here it is: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Gibson-Billie-Joe-Armstrong-Signature-Les-Paul-Junior-Double-Cutaway-Electric-Guitar-108266008-i1628172.gc
bjafan129 Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 There is an article in the new Guitar Center magazine that has pics of him with the guitar along with Mike. They talk about the trilogy along with Billie's newest guitar. I wonder if it has Billie's signature on it like the last junior the made for him?
Justin Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 How different will this sound to the previous signature LPJ? I dont know too much about the double cutaways
Kevin RP Dirnt Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Anyone knows when it will be available in europe??
Kevin RP Dirnt Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Les-Paul/Gibson-USA/Billie-Joe-Armstrong-Les-Paul-Junior-Double-Cut.aspx
LudeBoy Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 this guitar is not as good as the last junior. they are being made poorly and aren't using rosewoods for the fingerboard, they are using granadilllo. they also don't come with a case anymore just a gigbag.

Josh100_3 Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 WILL THIS BE AVAILABLE IN AUSTRALIA!? Yes I had to write that in caps lock...I've wanted a yellow les paul jr for ages.
yourguitarbuddy Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 I have no idea about any technical guitar stuff, but oooohhhhh pretty yellow. I like yellow. Me too
Jet Taman Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 WILL THIS BE AVAILABLE IN AUSTRALIA!? You wouldn't be able to order it through Guitarcenter.com and have it shipped to you?? If not that's bullshit that they wouldn't send it internationally. In all seriousness, if worse comes to worse, I'd be happy to be your middle man to get this guitar to you. As the owner and maker of BJ Guitars (Blue replicas) I've shipped all over the world including Australia among other countries and continents (visit my website and you can see the map of everywhere I've shipped) and hopefully I've established myself as a trustworthy business. If you would like me to be your middle man I'd be happy to somehow get the guitar to you. I'm in no way, shape, or form trying to get a profit off of you, it would be just to help you out. Message me if you're interested.

SetOnOverdrive Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 The main problem I have with this straight off the bat. Where is the free hardcase? (The other signature has one). Yeah, "I just spent $1200 on this new guitar. Let me go put it in this soft case." I highly see me, or anyone else, doing that.
CameronM. Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Beautiful guitar. cost about the same as a reguler double cut too though(shame I want one ). Oh well I can live with out it (as long as there are some at the South Portland GC) until I finsh my self made one. Just need a finish color (PM me with a suggestion if you want) then I'll start the build during the school year. Hey guys!! BradGreenDay Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 wish i could buy this.... LOOKS SOOOOOO NICE!!!!!!!!!
HeroesandCons86 Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 I personally think his other line of juniors were better, i don't own one ( i wish though) but this one does still look SUPER cool its one of the leading punk guitars back in the seventies the sex pistols used one (etc) and i think its great how it can come out of billies name. if i had to rate the to lines i would rate single cutaways 9/10 and double cut 8/10 don't get me wrong they both sound amazing but the other ones take me on this one
billiejoephil Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 I wonder how that new fretboard sounds in comparison with the regular rosewood fretboard.
Rusty Hart Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 i want Les Paul Silver Sparkle Junior that awesome
