swoolley Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 http://clashfinder.com/s/reading2012/ Theres about an hour gap between post war glamour girls and pure love, so as everybody had said, it looks like early saturday.
Martyn Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 So Green Day rumoured for NME stage saturday, http://www.readingfestival.co.uk/line-up/artist/post_war_glamour_girls are opening it....no time listed but they have a time at leeds... Green Day 1st or 2nd on...mindblowing this is actually happening! So who will i see there, around midday? gonna be weird seeing green day so early tbh...
hansyhobs Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Last year or so there was an incident where BJA got kicked of a flight for having his trousers to low so it seems they normally fly commercialy. Also just had a thought about Reading. Are there any bands on the line up you've never heard of before? Maybe they're playing under a false name...
silviagreen Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 It's not liike they don't have the money though. I don't think there's any way of telling if they're going to fly to the UK privately or on a listed flight. Maybe they'll fly to France and get the ferry over, how do we know? From what I remember, they usually take private flights only for short distances (2-3 hours of flight - For example when they're touring Europe sometimes the crew go on tour buses and the band fly privately). There's no point in renting a big private jet for a 12 hour flight from Tokyo when they can fly 1st class commercially..
cocoepops Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 You're all so stupid. My magic 8 ball says this isn't happening. GOD.
Isabel Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Yeah, sure didn't they fly commercially to Asia in 2010 when Aaron was with them?
Undómiel Posted August 20, 2012 Author Posted August 20, 2012 Pretty sure they usually fly commercially. First class of course... but I don't think they do private..
Joee94 Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 There's an hour gap on the NME stage on Saturday between Post War Glamour Girls and True Love http://clashfinder.com/s/reading2012/?user=00l5jg.uk&
WillForADay Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Could be longer. Glamour girls don't have a stage time on official website but do on Leeds
Joee94 Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Could be longer. Glamour girls don't have a stage time on official website but do on Leeds Yeah, that was my thought too... I kinda hope PWGG are moved so Green Day have a solid hour and a half or so, I was trying to think of a 45 minute set for Green Day, but I don't think it's possible hahaha
Martyn Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Could be longer. Glamour girls don't have a stage time on official website but do on Leeds well they're certainly gonna get a nice crowd now no matter what time they play!
Amanda Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 not sure if this has been discussed (don't think it has on the other thread) but does anyone have and clue as to the venue? i'm not from London or near, but could be somewhere like The Garage I heard some suspicious noises coming from my garden shed during the night, but shhh... don't tell Martyn.
Martyn Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I heard some suspicious noises coming from my garden shed during the night, but shhh... don't tell Martyn. I can confirm a show in Amanda's shed on Friday night as a Reading warmup.
joshryanoakley Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I can confirm a show in Amanda's shed on Friday night as a Reading warmup. haha are we thinking that seeing as (we presume) that they're playing on a saturday at reading, that the London show could be on friday? Ahhh this is all too much
farley drexel hatcher Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I had Radio 1 on in the background about half an hour ago & they played Kill the DJ & Fearne was chatting about how awesome they are blahblah & then mentioned if you're a fan listen to Zane's show on Wednesday or something. couldn't really hear as I was in the shower, but yeah. this sucks coz I'm off to Reading tomorrow morning (obv a good thing too!) but this sounds like the announcement to me! ... they better not think of announcing a possible thursday show the night before.
gmcloughlin Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 ... they better not think of announcing a possible thursday show the night before. Words cannot describe how devastated and furious I'll be if this happens :angry
hansyhobs Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I don't think Green Day will be playing a particularly long set at Reading, after all the secret shows are to promote their new material so a 45min slot will probably be likely. If they were going to play for 1.5 hours they'd officially be in the programme. When I've gone to secret shows at other festival eg Pulp at Glasto they've not played for over an hour. I think the London show will still be on Thursday judging by the tweet I mentioned in the pervious thread. Did Martyn mention Shepard's Bush Empire? I think he's just BSing but that would be an amazing location nonetheless, it's a lot smaller than Brixton so it can get quite intimate.I think the radio 1 thing will be to do with Reading as the BBC are sponsors. Unless you can only win tickets for the secret London show by competition (like Blur the other week) but that better not be the case because it's a totally unfair way (for the fans) of going about it
Isabel Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 haha are we thinking that seeing as (we presume) that they're playing on a saturday at reading, that the London show could be on friday? Ahhh this is all too much I would actually die with happiness if this was true. I've nothing to do in London on Friday
Hermione Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Don't forget there's a separate thread for the possible Reading show. Let's keep discussion that only relates to Reading in there. I'm constantly on the edge of my seat waiting for news, can't stand it.
