Green Day in the Sunday Times' Culture Magazine

We had heard that "See You Tonight" might be the Dos opener. Sounds more like something that would fit the description. The secret show set lists look like they might be accurate, but there were only 36 songs on there, not including "See You Tonight." Methinks that's #37 and also the song in question and for some weird reason was left off those lists...

Ok thanks for that- had totally missed that- looking forward to See You Tonight then.

Rusty James is probably a reference to the book/film Rumble Fish.

Great character.

Well...that's not that big of an accomplishment, considering the first thing that pops up when you google Rusty James is Rumble Fish's Wikipedia page....

The article also mentions the "extraordinary" Dirty Rotten Bastards, which I believe is the song Rob Cavallo compared to Jesus of Suburbia. Consider me blindly excited for that thing.

Why do they have two completely different songs with the word "bastards" in them?

Why not replace bastards in one song with bitches.

I vote for Dirty Rotten Bitches as the name change. All in favor say aye.

That's so weird, when I was doing Graphic Design in college a couple of years ago, we had to design a front cover of the Culture magazine and I did mine on Green Day and a feature all about 21st CB which was their newest album at the time

That just confirmed Rusty James as being Last Gang In Town. Thank you for this! Now i'm glad i pre-ordered UNO because that track rules.

I feel way too victorious that I knew that track list was fake the whole time. You know, unless there's some lost Simon and Garfunkel song that sounds like Fuck Time.

If "See you tonight" is the simon and garfunkel-esque song they're talking about, and I'm pretty sure it is because of the leaked tracklist having it as the opener, maybe the song "Oh Girl", (one of the songs played live last year which also has that slight simon and garfunkel sound to it) was renamed "see you tonight"! The song does have the lyric "maybe I'll see you around". I hope I'm right as "Oh girl" is a really great sounding song!

Interesting theory there! [but also makes me remember how badly I wanted them to record 'Dreamcatcher' which I liked more than Oh Girl]... either way I'm excited. I remember when the journalists were listening to the albums and tweeting, one of them mentioned a song on Dos sounding like Mrs. Robinson. Not sure if that person was referring to the same song though

Edit: Listened to Oh Girl again, and it's totally a S&G-esque type song that could very well have been renamed See You Tonight. I'd be excited to hear it.

Well, it is not entirely impossible.

In the style of Simon & Garfunkel it would probably be something like "Oh lady, lady it's intercourse time"

But then played on acoustic guitar

I can imagine that all too well.

I had no idea the UK writes it as "lacklustre." You learn something new every day! Thanks for the scans!

Bear-hunting  Mr. Colbert wishes the band would do this!

And from the Japan video blog, you can definitely conclude "See You Tonight" (Dos opener from the leaked tracklists) is the one described to be like Simon & Garfunkel.

When i went looking for this the girl in Dunnes said "is there something in this weeks mag cos a lot of girls and guys have been asking for that paper this week and we are totally sold out?!" Haha!

Thanks for posting the scans though...i checked every shop and couldn't get it.
