Justin Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 The band played over their allotted time, cutting into other bands' (not very long to begin with) time slots. The thing is this is all pretty irrelevant stuff.... The first band was meant to start at 12, who normally get around 30min slots. Then Pure Love was meant to start at 1.15, so there was a ridiculously long gap before hand planned. (possibly to fit a 30mins GD slot) instead they opened an hour early. That slot most likely would have still been free (changing every bands times around wouldnt have been possible) there may have been a chance of that slot filled with a longer set for "post war glamour girls". So unless someone who is actually at reading can confirm some bands got less time, we can cut saying it was a dick move etc because no one would have been affected at all really. They would have only wanted them off by 12 as "post war glamour girls" would have been waiting, not because of getting less time.
Justin Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 awww what i missed it how do i know when to look out for it? Itll be online by monday im pretty sure
sassafrasroots_ Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 awww what i missed it how do i know when to look out for it? If you press the blue button once you're on red button it'll show you whats up next on each of the options. I think they played it after Murder City on red button, i'm sure it'll be up on iplayer at some point if you don't get chance to see it. It's likely to be repeated on red button over the next day or so though

I can't speak for the details as I have never been to nor am I familiar with the workings of the festival; just commenting/answering the question based on what other people have reported.

Yeah i didnt mean it to come across dickish, but its alot of people reporting it based on assumptions. They finished at 12.20, giving say an hour for the next band to play their short set and the next band set up (which at festivals is usually 10mins for bands earlier in the day as all of the stuff is ready side of stage and they just need to have the audio levels sorted) On the main stage, the first band get around 25min slots gradually going up to about 40 to 50 to an hour, subheadliners only get an hour. Iv never watched an early band on the NME so im assuming it would be between 20 and 25min slots. So plenty of time for Pure Love to have started there set, EDIT AFTER RESEARCH Just to confirm this actually, Tomorrow the first band starts at 12.00, next band at 12.50, so 50minutes for the show and set up Therefore when Green Day finished at 12.20 that have the next band 55mins to play and set ups for the next band. So in theory, Green Day could have played another song

All I wanted to know . They seem to have an appreciation for small bands, so...
