At the obvious risk of everyone here yelling at me...why the actual fuck is Mike even uploading these pictures of his wife anyway? The lip one i have no issue with other than it is irrelevant as a tour update/in any way related to the band and the ridiculous dare picture was simply unnecessary and embarassing (he has three children one of whom is a freaking teen imagine how she would feel about her dad posting shit like this online). I really am missing the point where these pictures are relevant to Green Day/the tour/the albums and at no point do i feel like as fans we need that much access to their personal lives. Somewhere a line needs to be drawn or else Tre might as well take a picture of himself in the bath because hell that is more relevant ...at least he is in the band.

Sorry for the rant i love that they are using instagram...just fail to see why we are getting these silly "check out my hot wife" style pictures from a rock/punk band...it is degrading to see so many wow congrats on such a beautiful wife comments (and i don't care if she obviously agrees/gives permission to him to use the photo)...i mean it's as though she is a trophy wife to be displayed and Mike has really outdone himself here. Sorry but i have lost some respect for both Britt and Mike for this stupidity.

I think you're taking it a bit too seriously to be honest? It's mike messing about on instagram, clearly making it obvious it's a dare/joke. He wouldn't have posted it if Britt wasn't ok with it and even then, it's blurry and you can't even see anything! I enjoy these updates. If it was limited to tour/green day stuff it'd get boring. No one complains when billie posts photos of his family, and they're not relevant to tour. Seems there's always a different rule for mike for some reason.

I understand what you mean! but I think you are overreacting, I think you should really ask yourself why a pic from somebody you probably dont know affects you so much! Its like getting annoyed with billie or anyone for that matter that wears a police hat and makes fun of them, I really dont think its a big deal.

I don't have any issue with that pic of Britt naked. The letter censored her butt and her boobs are covered, so if Britt and Mike had no issues, why should we? And about them having kids, I don't see how that changes the thing.

I'm sorry, but are you serious? Where in the sign up for Instagram did it say that the band could only use it for updates on the tour/album/whatever? It's a new form of social media, a new way to connect with fans, that's all. Hell, Tre had his Instagram long before the trilogy was even announced, look at his, it's full of selfies and random shit.

And "you lost respect for Mike and Britt because of the stupidity"? I'm sorry, what's so stupid about a tasteful picture of his wife? Clearly they both are comfortable enough to share it, so why not share it? I fail to see ANY kind of "stupidity" in it. It's not going to affect album sales, it's not going to destroy Green Day, it's not going to change his bass playing, it's just a fun picture the two of them took and were comfortable enough to share. A couple of years ago some pictures leaked from Mike and Britt when she was pregnant and they both took some nude pictures, so clearly they don't see a problem with it, and neither should we. It's just a picture, nothing more, nothing less.

They choose what they wanna post online and they know best about people in their family and what they will think of them. Mike has posted other photos of his wife which aren't showing her off as a "trophy", so it's not like he's just all "hey look what I'm tapping", he didn't even make a comment like that on the photo of Britt naked, so clearly it's a joke they have going.

To be honest, I'd much rather see Britt's photo posted over and over again than watch the oh love video. Personally, that is degrading and offensive. That is how the band chooses to represent itself in the mass media. Instagram is still a fairly obscure device whereas music videos go down in history. A man posting an artsy photo of his wife, cleverly censored, is nothing compared to 40 year olds trying to touch up half naked models.

Ok so i am not going to spend all day replying individually/arguing because everyone is entitled to their own opinion but i fail to see how you can't see how having tonnes of teens/young people drooling over a picture of your wife (however tasteful/artsy it may be) isn't at all weird?! And actually as i am nearly Britts age rather than say Estelle's i can't fathom how some of you can't understand how these pictures may affect their children? I don't care that he is famous it is fucking weird. Also if pictures similar to this leaked before ...then the word that is important in that sentence is leaked not was posted to instagram and therefore Greenday.com i mean really...bit of a difference. I was only saying how i feel its a bit random ...very very random for a 40 year old to post these kinds of pictures of their wives. Imagine you stumbled upon your friends/co workers/teachers etc (depending on your ages) and don't tell me it isn't a little odd. It's not like im a prude its just that they have young fans and in general i find it strange. I don't get what you mean by stumbling upon a co-workers photos... We don't know mike. Stumbling upon someone's photos who you actually know would freak me out more than someone I don't know.

Sure it effects the kids. Just like billie singing "it's fuck time" would make his sons cringe, and how tre's daughter probably wouldn't wanna see the oh love video. But hey, that's just tre and billie being tre and billie right? That's just them!
