One thing that is supremely confusing me...and I think this may just be a result of poor English translating, but didn't you say in a prior post that your were 15 years old?

Doesn't selling out mean doing everything for money only and going against your beliefs, for the sake of money? If they were going to do that (I mean really do that) ticket costs would not be what they are (they would be double - triple what they are) and there would be no swearing in their music. Ever. I'm not saying they've never cut any corners or finked on anything and got paid - I can't know that - but they are in the business because it is what they love to do. Evidence being in their performances. Yes, it gets them money, and a lot of it. But what that ultimately means is that they can keep playing music.

As for the set, and for leaving after the show... Did you notice how busy they were? How much travel time and how many shows they did? This was a PRE-tour, just to sort of get their feet wet and get a taste for these songs in front of a live audience. I'm willing to bet money that their set would be more filled out on the full tour. I don't think that it has ever been a fully "punk rock" show... It's just been a great fucking show.

And that picture Mike posted... Wow, man. I can't even... I truly do not know how to respond to that. I'm baffled.

They have often asserted that people should just be themselves. I even remember Billie mentioning something about how it doesn't matter if people are wearing jelly bracelets and the like, as long as they're doing it because it's what they like and not because it's what they think they should like.

Ahh, okay. That makes a bit more sense. Personally, though, I don't get why people are so bothered by bands having teenage fanboys/girls in the first place. I understand--though don't necessarily agree with--the complaints regarding commericialism and whatnot, but when people start bringing up the issue of teenage fans, the question marks start forming.

I mean, aside from having to learn to peacefully co-exist with people of different ages and generations on forums and at shows, what's so bad about it? Bands *need* young people to keep expanding their fanbase and stay relevant, and, as others have mentioned, Green Day have always been able to attract that sort of crowd. Hell, they were teenagers themselves when they started putting out music!

Yeah, having a teenage fanbase is a sure sign that they are still culturally relevant, and not just an exercise in nostalgia. When they are no longer able to draw in teenage fans is the point at which people start going "shit, I hope they don't play any of the new stuff" because the only reason they went to the show is to relive the days of their youth :/.

Woah! As someone said before, rips tend to show like that when you're laying in such a position! And just because she may be slim (and not skinny imo), does not mean she doesn't eat enough! Just because someone is skinny doesn't mean they don't eat enough. Some people are just naturally thin.

I eat plenty, but I've always been skinny. I'm not trying to be, it's just the way my body is. Just like my sister, mom, aunts, grandmother - we just have certain genes that give us this body type, regardless of how we eat or if we even exercise at all.

You shouldn't make rude comments whether someone looks too big or too skinny - that just shows ignorance and lack of compassion.

People should be able to be happy with how they naturally are, and others should be able to accept that too.

As long as you have a healthy lifestyle, it shouldn't matter how you look. Be comfortable in your own skin.

Alright,I start to understand what you're talking about, but you can't categorize people after their age. Back in 2008, in fourth or fifth grade we had to read a book in German class ('ways to live forever' or something like that in English) . Anyway, there was this obsessed green day kid who always wore his outworn American idiot shirt.... Blah blah blah... Days later I bought nimrod, so this was the first and my favorite album I ever owned and I'd always prefer their pre-American idiot stuff over AI and 21CB, and for a half year I didn't even know or care how they looked, cause I just enjoyed the, imo, good music. And fuck yes, they're kinda good looking, I can't deny that, but hell, they're all 40, their kids are circa my age, you can't forget that and maybe some of us sometimes seem to do, but that's not my problem, and I wouldn't say I'm fan girling over any member.... And this"oh my god, they're such sell outs" debate is just plain stupid, but that are just my two cents. I don't think I'm the only one my age with this opinion. Fun fact: Mönchengladbach was my first concert ever and, unfortunately, I have to admit I share your opinion on that crowd + length of set list thing.
