This is the facebook page: http://www.facebook....junoxx1?fref=ts

He posted the pic on his wall last night (that's when I first saw it). Whenever I'm on facebook and see a pic posted on that account I always come right here and within 10 mins it's being talked about in this thread.

So, not making any assumptions that this is actually his Facebook account, but just taking it for what it is :-)

Yeah, the thing that's really weird to me is that the page says Billie joe armstrong . As in, only "Billie" is capitalized. What's up with that? o_O.

I've always thought that too. I'm not usually one to speculate, I just think that it would be VERY hard for anybody other than him to be able to make sure that pics hit instagram and that Facebook page within minutes of each other. That would be a lot of work for a fan to do.

if the picture is from a private account but posted by someone else on a public one doesn't make it better. Please refrain from using sketchy sources.

Did Brittney make her IG public? when i followed her account was private

Just looked her up; she's public now. I don't feel the need to follow her though.

That's true. But he's usually good with the fans. I've seen this kind of hostility toward journalists, critics and the like; that's one thing. The lady who wrote the letter that eventually inspired Reject? I get that. But this seems different, unwarranted. I just can't think of a precedent for flying off the handle with a genuine FAN. You know what I mean?

I hate how people keep saying "I would understand this reaction if it wasn't toward a fan", as if Billie knew exactly who this person was, how much of a fan they are, and precisely what the intent and meaning behind that comment was. He didn't. We didn't until the guy made the second post, talking about how he's loved them since '94. But now that we do know that, people are retroactively factoring it into their assessment of their situation and presuming Billie to be some sort of cyber-psychic who should've surmised all of this beforehand.

It's readily apparent, just from things people have shared on here, much less from reading the actual comments section, that not everyone who posts comments to his photos is a fan. And, even then, it's not like fans never say anything critical or rude or completely out of line. On this forum, on twitter, on instagram, wherever. I'm not saying that this particular commenter was in that category, but Billie obviously thought that he *was* and, since he has a hot temper and a foul mouth, reacted accordingly. Misinterpretation happens all the time online--I've sure as hell done it and have been on the receiving end at times, as well--and I just think it's some kind of fucked that people are trying to paint this as something different just because, this time, it happened to be a fan.

The pumpkin with the evil mustache is amazing. What a great line-up!

That one's my favorite!

It wasn't. I stated where it was from, I didn't even know about that fb thing, which is just a fan reposting photos.

as far as i know, her account used to be public. but then she switched it to private, i guess because people starting saving pictures and reposting them online. i don't know whether she switched it back to public or not.

I think he made the rude comment so people wouldn't fuck with him...think it worked at least the pumpkin thread is a lot more comment friendly

He used to be pretty rude and mean to the audience/fans at shows lol. And he's never really been the type to be super nicey nicey to fans as far as I can see, seems more like he usually talks to them the same as anyone so that can include being short with them the same way he might be short with anyone occasionally. He doesn't know how big a fan anyone on there is anyway, he just snapped at someone probably hardly thinking about it. An uncalled for comment yes, but I don't think it's a huge deal.

Green Day have pumpkin fever!

He was much younger in those days! I wrote this up to somebody else who responded and then lost the whole post- he's not a snot-nosed 22-year-old anymore, but rather the self-proclaimed "X-kid." He doesn't have to answer to anybody, obviously. And when it all boils down, I suppose he doesn't really owe us anything. I'd like to chalk up the outburst to frustration/detox but that would ultimately be short-sighted of me.

You know what it is? I met him just once, and he was SUPER nice. People always say, Don't meet your idols. They'll inevitably let you down. I think I'm just trying to dispel that.

I'll give you the bolded part above- if half those robo-comments about making money by taking surveys were true, he would be a millionaire all over again.

But on the other hand, that's why I said it would be a good idea for him to let the Instagram thing go...at least for now. Maybe in the long run this will end up being an isolated incident; I hope it does. It would be shitty if it goes on because -- and I'm not saying it's going to happen, but it could -- people begin antagonizing him just to get a rise out of the guy, and then he blows up, it gets into the "news," and he ends up being labeled just another rock star douche bag.

That's probably looking way too far into the future and everybody who is saying this discussion needs to die is right. So I'll concede to everyone's points and from here I'll just STFU about it. :)

Yeah I'm sure he's super nice to most people he meets. I'm just saying I don't think he's generally extra polite/falsely nice to people just because they're fans. So just as he's probably nice to most people most of the time but sometimes short with them for whatever reason, it's no different with people who happen to be fans (especially when it's just random people on Instagram where he has no idea how big a fan anyone is, rather than at an event where people have spent their time coming to see him so he knows they're fans and appreciates that so of course treats them with courtesy). He's abrupt and rude sometimes, always has been. Doesn't mean it was a nice thing to say, but it does mean it's not a massive surprise or massive deal or something to change your opinion of him over.

I should probably join you in SingTFU, I think pretty much everything that could be said about this has been said.

I checked, and I'm not following her but I looked up her page and the photos were all visible, so guessing that means she's public?

Can we have a rule that anyone can post Brittany's images here IF MIKE IS IN THE PICTURE. There's no reason to post pics of her kids here. I wouldn't feel good if pics of my kids were being spread around. So, if Mike is in the picture then it's ok?

Edit: I guess it's okay if Mike posts pics of kids too (Like the one of his daughter with lipstick all over) because it's on his account
