Annie, get your gun Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 I have the interview from their arrival, I know there's another one but I can't find it and where it is I can't watch 'cause you know... fucking mtv. I'll try to upload the one I have, it'll just take a while, thanks to my goddamn slow and lovely internet
Tubbie Head Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 The performance was incredible!! I loved it so much! Jason was pretty much on fire! Very good!
whatserbmae Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 The best video I've been able to find from GD's performance is this one, on GD Eulogy: http://greendayeulog...go-no-vma-2012/ I'm a huge fan of Jason, and I was so happy to see him play a bigger part than he usually does! And he did it so amazingly well! I hope this isn't just a one off! I wonder if he sang that part because Billie wasn't feeling good, or if it was other reasons. Nice to see some more of Jeff too! Also, I really wish it was possible to get a version without the beeping. Stop beep-beeping with my head now - what a joke! No HD video download yet? Because the MTV video was US only (as always!), I had a look at MTV Norway and it was surprisingly enough streamed there, but the quality isn't too good though! http://www.mtv.no/se...in-show/episode

I'm spoiled, I know, but I'm just used to there being a download link waiting for me on here the next day
The Snark Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Loved it! The song choice, Jason screaming his lungs out, Jeff getting some camera time, playing in the crowd, how they were set up facing each other, the energy... They blew the roof off that place and made a shitty awards show worth watching. When the crowd rushed them, my mom was like "Aaaaaaand we've lost the singer." Wow! What a performance! So full of energy, exactly what to expect with this band. I absolutely LOVE that Jason was screaming in the song. I really hope we see more of that. And haters gonna hate. The MTV crowd has changed. Rock is NOT popular on that channel at all. Music isn't popular on that channel, period. It's not just MTV though. The kind of music that has been popular for some time now is all pre-packaged, processed, and has an expiration date that never seems to come.
1039SweetChildren Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Telling of the decline of MTV and people's interest in the music scene today, the VMA's dropped to 6.1 million viewers last night compared to 12.6 million last year.

Femme Gauche Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Wow less than 50% of last years viewerage? Although... to be fair, US folks also were watching the DNC... AT least some of us.
whatserbmae Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Thanks Surely someone must've captured it in full HD though? I'm spoiled, I know, but I'm just used to there being a download link waiting for me on here the next day I really hope a HD version will surface, but Viacom seems to be removing everything that's showing up on You Tube before we even have a chance to see it!
blitzkriegdeb Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Telling of the decline of MTV and people's interest in the music scene today, the VMA's dropped to 6.1 million viewers last night compared to 12.6 million last year. The fact that they showed on a Thursday, the same day as the DNC probably contributed to that too. I'm pretty sure it's been on a Sunday like everytime. But more than likely people are starting to realize that the music being shown to us is prepackaged and unoriginal. And, quite frankly, music videos just aren't "the thing" anymore. And if people want music videos, I'll bet anything that they don't go to MTV for it. Think it's safe to say that MTV has dug itself a grave.
Femme Gauche Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Eh, they'll still be online (Mtv I mean). Whatever. At least there's Green Day.
spark in the night Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 I found it on the web, anyway you can see the video searching on youtube "One direction best pop video" I'm too distracted by Billie and Adie talking in each other's ear
Mar Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 EMMA WATSON INTRODUCED GREEN DAY. GREEN DAY DID A BEAUTIFUL PERFORMANCE OF LET YOURSELF GO. GREEN DAY LOOKED PERFECT. Yup. Life is perfect. I'm surprised more people weren't excited about Emma introducing them tbh
Femme Gauche Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 I'm surprised more people weren't excited about Emma introducing them tbh Haha yeah. I loved that XD. But Green Day were so awesome I forgot.
Cris. Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 I'm surprised more people weren't excited about Emma introducing them tbh Nah I was absolutelly thrilled by this as well! I was like "nooo! is she gonna introduce them?... did I die and go to heaven?" The best of two worlds combined. The only way it could have been cooler was if JK Rowling introduced them... but then then Emma is hotter so I can't make up my mind And what a great energetic performance that was! An instant hint with the crowd. And I loved how I almost didn't notice that Jason was helping sick ol' Billie with his vocals They're such geniouses.
Spider Tre Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 speaking of 1D... gained a little bit of respect, but half of it went away when i saw he spelled their name incorrectly lol

I remember reading the Perks of Being a Wallflower when I was in high school. I thought it was highly appropriate they had people from the film introduce Green Day, especially since it's set in the early 90s (at least, the book is. No clue if they changed it for the movie).

Good point, and I think the movie is still in the early '90s iirc speaking of 1D... gained a little bit of respect, but half of it went away when i saw he spelled their name incorrectly lol Oh bless you, Louis
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 emma watson announcing green day. yup this is great. Billie has eyelids? Boom surprise? --------------- Oh my god, Billie is getting mobbed!
bat-chen Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Great performance from the guys The last bit when Billie Joe invited the crowd to the stage I was a bit scared that Billie will get crush
PaulS Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Billie has eyelids? Boom surprise? I don't get it? He is drawing attention to Billie's stye, since incredibly pedestrian eye complaints are now the go-to subject for Green Day fans everywhere. Oh Instagram, what horrors have you wrought?
