Mar Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 If this was the rated PG version I don't even want to see the R one. objectifying women for no reason? no thanks the whole thing was just so pointless I'm glad you said it, because I think that's why I didn't like it. I know, as they said, it's about lust, but it still made me uncomfortable.
Dalya Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 The video confused my brain. My feelings while watching it were a combination of me getting angry because it was so boring and pointless, yet fangirling because the entire band looked so goddamn gorgeous. Band looked 10x better ) They could just do a makeup and stand instead of these... women
spark in the night Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 ALSO Who the hell sits on a couch blowing bubblegum bubbles when Green Day is fucking 5 feet from you performing. Bitch get off yo bubble blowing ass and rock out! Zombie skanks
Annie, get your gun Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Tré was just... aaaaahhh BTW, couldn't watch Oh Love yet, am I missing a great vid?
Todd Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I'd love if this was the most successful music video Green Day has ever done because a bunch of 13 year old boys keep requesting it so they can jack off to it. Yes.
Sarcasm Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Which was a pretty bad video too ... making a longer version of the video for a song that was already 9 minutes long? And everything in that video is so exagerated... sigh. I won't rant about this right now, it'd be off topic... but... yes, I never had very high expectations for the video of Oh Love since it was announced he'd be directing it. I haven't watched it yet (thanks Mtv), so I don't want to judge it yet... but let's just say that it wouldn't come as a shock or a let down if I don't like the video. Word's can not express... I won't get into this debate right now, but I highly disagree with the argument that the video being long makes it bad. x)
Mar Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 It seems to me that the "hot" girls are just there to attract the audience. I know they were kinda representing the whole "tonight my heart's on the loose", but other men and even not so hot and tattooed girls could be representing this as well. And I've never really liked the attitude "so, I'm a big rockstar, I can have any hot girls I want and I'll be in an orgy with them tonight", and I get it a little from the video. Same. I would have been fine if it was supposed to be satirical (I never was a fan of the dancing girls in the Holiday video, but I was a little more forgiving there because it seemed tongue-in-cheek) but this isn't.
farley drexel hatcher Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 not even gonna bother watching the video. i'll see it all in tumblr gifsets anyways
holyshitaflyingbanna Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I WAS HATING SAM BAYER BEFORE IT WAS COOL!!!
MariaWhereDidYouGo? Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 The video sucked but the interview was great, I loved it
Samantha Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 OK actual input time: The video is actually pointless but has a great performance aspect which is totally Green Day and perfect It's just great to see them back in action and I love them and yay
Mar Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 As for the video, can anyone say, mid-life crisis? RIGHT?
Heather! Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I'm glad you said it, because I think that's why I didn't like it. I know, as they said, it's about lust, but it still made me uncomfortable. yeah there's a difference between making something sexually charged (what they were going for I'd assume) and just making something as shallow and surface-level as the video actually turned out.
AlissaGoesRAWR Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 If this was the rated PG version I don't even want to see the R one. objectifying women for no reason? no thanks the whole thing was just so pointless I'm glad you said it, because I think that's why I didn't like it. I know, as they said, it's about lust, but it still made me uncomfortable. Maybe that's my problem, too... like, I was waiting for the girls to like rebel and go crazy or something, or just have fun, for the video to have some deeper meaning, but instead the girls just made the whole thing almost awkward to watch...
Dalya Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I agree. They should have been more "green day" type girls. Not just random blande blonde model-types. Maybe there's a deeper meaning behind it, but maybe they're just going to be topless in the R rated one. Meh. It might grow on me. I've sort of lost faith in music videos these days. Even the greatest bands ever are just making mediocre ones. meh. I have played it about 4 times though. Indeed. R could be a better version only if we could see them naked !
Clayish Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I'd love if this was the most successful music video Green Day has ever done because a bunch of 13 year old boys keep requesting it so they can jack off to it.
Karol Oliveira Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 The interview was awesome and it was great from hearing from the guys again...As for the video, can anyone say, mid-life crisis? lol But clips from Kill the DJ, looked cool I totally get the "mid-life" crisis from the video and from the most of the trilogy (from what we've heard so far).
burnout409 Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 In response to all those saying its objectifying women needlessly and comes of sleazy etc! I don't see the problem with having the women in the video i don't think they're being objectified at all! Its Rock N Roll, "Sex, Drugs, Rock N Roll" guys! any Rock N Roll Musician is gonna want and/or have sexy, good looking girls backstage or with them at a party etc, why not! Nothing wrong with it if they wanna be their! Isn't it part of the image people have of Rock N Roll musicians, sitting around, booze all over the place a good looking girl on each arm and Rock N Roll being played 24/7! Although i have to say the video is pretty boring :/ Keeping hope for the R rated version though!
BringMoreKnives Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I think it would have fit "It's Fuck Time" better.
Hermione Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 That video was pointless. I disagree, I think it makes sense with the song. He's singing "tonight my hearts on the loose" and about desire and feeling sexual tension as they put it, so there's the girls there causing the sexual tension and temptation. However, although I think it represents the song okay, I wish they'd executed it in a more interesting way! Good idea but boring execution. From the promo it looked like the band was gonna be doing more acting not just playing the song, but it just comes off as a straightforward performance video with some uneventful shots of the models and a couple of tiny shots of the band members mucking about. The promos also made it look like it was gonna be a bit risque but it was nothing. Could've been an interesting video, but in the event it's just dull. Meh. LOVED the interview though
ltrbmb17 Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Tré was just... aaaaahhh Agree! Can you guys say please!!! What Billie said is he drinking not to be aged???
July21 Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 i don't really like the video.. but i loooved the interview and the short part of the video for kill the dj
Sweet Armataged Chump Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 ALSO Who the hell sits on a couch blowing bubblegum bubbles when Green Day is fucking 5 feet from you performing. Bitch get off yo bubble blowing ass and rock out! Zombie skanks It's a fucking music video not a concert. And you people need to stop hating on Sam. It wasn't his decision to put all of this in the video.

Annie, get your gun Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Agree! Can you guys say please!!! What Billie said is he drinking not to be aged??? Tré said "V"... someone here said= vampire blood No shit, BJ.
