ltrbmb17 Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Where do you see it announced as that? Here Sorry, couldn't catch it better. SO! DOES THEY MEAN WEDNESDAY OR THURSDAY MORNING???
Red Lights Flash Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 The set of "Oh Love" is totally different from what we've seen on the MTV video, with the interview with the guys. Maybe they already shot "Kill the DJ" video as well... We'll have to wait to know for sure! As I've mentioned when that MTV video was released, you can clearly see that Tré's drumming was definitely not the drumming to Oh Love. It looked like he was playing the riff in the Uno trailer, which we now know for sure is Kill the DJ. Besides, you could also see during the interview that there were two sets. So yes, now I'm 100% sure that they shot both videos there. SO! DOES THEY MEAN WEDNESDAY OR THURSDAY MORNING??? The MTV UK website says that it will premiere on thursday at 1 AM!
ltrbmb17 Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 The MTV UK website says that it will premiere on thursday at 1 AM! Thank you! I just found it! It will be played twice! And it will be 4 and 6AM in my timezone...
Ryan Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Ok...read through most of the posts here (interesting mostly guys have no problem with this video...wonder why?). Anyway i don't have a problem with this video (or the tiny bit i have seen) because i feel it objectifies women (enough music videos do that and i can't spend all day being offended) i have a problem because this is Green Day. A band who have given interviews criticizing these kinds of plain stupid videos in the past numerous times and who i respected (not for their private morals which to be honest none of us really know we all assume and i am guessing a lot of fans think they are angels in some aspects and are sadly mistaken) for their basic views on equality etc. Having glorified whores in your video (and yes that does seem to be Billie at the start) is never what i expected to see from them. It's pathetic pop band stuff that they loathed a few years ago and before you all say "people are entitled to grow and change" i will point out that there is progression and regression and i believe in some senses Green Day are currently experiencing the latter. Songs like Makeout Party and Fuck Time (funny as it might be at a gig) would never in a trillion years have seriously have made an album a few years ago. And for all the people who have defended Green Day instantly by telling anyone who feels disappointed/slightly in wtf mode over this that they are overreacting and there is no way GD act like this in reality as two of them are married etc i remind you all of the interview (i think it was mtv its on youtube) where Mike/Billie said that the concept for the Oh Love video came from the song Makeout Party in which the events actually occured. Check it yourself. Personally this does not shock me and i feel it is nobodys business what they do anyway but portraying this as if it is something to be glorified is a bit sad. All in all i feel confused. It's not just this video...listening to the lyrics from some of the new songs (which sound amazing music wise) im thinking either there is a new honesty to the lyrics or they have changed a lot...either way im finding im having a fan crisis. Songs like "Makeout Party" and "Fuck Time" are awesome because they go back to having an old-school Rock & Roll feel to them. They would have never made a Green Day album years ago because Green Day was not writing true Rock & Roll...the way it used to be. Now they are. BUT EVERYBODY IS MISSING THE ONE THING WE CAN ABSOLUTELY SURE ABBOUT FROM THE VIDEO PREVIEW...JASON WHITE IS IN IT, SO THIS MEANS THAT HE IS AN OFFICIAL MEMBER OF THE BAND!!!!!!

He was also in the video for 21 Guns. And also, I know I'm really late on this, but I only got around to watch the video today, so... Did I just see Sam Bayer?!
Alan86 Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 BUT EVERYBODY IS MISSING THE ONE THING WE CAN ABSOLUTELY SURE ABBOUT FROM THE VIDEO PREVIEW...JASON WHITE IS IN IT, SO THIS MEANS THAT HE IS AN OFFICIAL MEMBER OF THE BAND!!!!!! The fact that Jason is in this video does not mean he is an official member. He has also been in videos for "wake me up when september ends" "working class hero" "21 guns" "last of the American girls"
Sarahnade Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I don't really have doubts on this video, seeing as Sam Bayer is at the wheel. The music videos from the American Idiot era were definitely my favorites so I couldn't be happier that he's working with them again.
Ryan Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 The fact that Jason is in this video does not mean he is an official member. He has also been in videos for "wake me up when september ends" "working class hero" "21 guns" "last of the American girls" Yes...I know. If you look back to the forum topic about whether or not Jason was an offical member, you would see that I was a huge advocate of using logic and reasoning and to stop making stupid assertions based on nothing. My last post was me mocking people who make comments lsuch as that. Ha

Katarina. Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Since we have MTV music (uk) and rocks here, I've seen an ad for Oh Love a few times. Quite funny. Something about Green Day being on the satellite as if they are taking over the MTV channel for a moment I had to look twice though when it said the premiere is on the 15th at 12:something, was it 55? AM? That'd be about 2AM here. Which will be in an hour. I thought that was quite odd, because on the other channel it said it'd premier on the 16th. Well anyway, looking forward to seeing it! I haven't watched any preview/behind the scenes video so this is going to be interesting..

I just listed the those videos cause he had a guitar in them.

Fuzz Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 For those unsure on the time it will air, just look at the countdown on GDA.
ltrbmb17 Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 For those unsure on the time it will air, just look at the countdown on GDA. it would be nice if the countdown give an alarm 10 minutes before the premiere (for those who will be sleeping)

Mary Daze Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Random info about that interview on MTV after the Oh Love music video premiere: that article about Green Day playing at the VMA's said: [...] Green Day will debut its new music video for "Oh Love" Wednesday at 7:49 p.m. ET on MTV. Following the premiere, the band will conduct a 30-minute interview with Sway Calloway for MTV First: Green Day.
