DecanoLP Posted August 19, 2012 Author Posted August 19, 2012 But this is the set from the club show The one that I posted is the one from Summer Sonic which is the first "real" show from this tour.
billiejoephil Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Do you guys really think Green Day would drop Good Riddance as the last song on this tour?
.Holly Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 I'd be really surprised they dropped good riddance completely, but maybe they won't play it at every show. Really excited by the above set lists, it's great they're opening with welcome to paradise. I would personally like to hear more stuff off nimrod, especially the grouch and scattered ;-)
Neon Light Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 I think 8th Avenue Serenade would be an awesome closer for several reasons: 1. It involves the whole band. While the acoustic encore is beautiful, I feel that the last song shouldn't be just a solo performance. Maybe Billie could play a few acoustic before the rest of the band come back for the last couple. 2. It's not too up tempo, so the crowd will not be too pumped up at the end. 3. The lyrics appear to have a "goodbye" theme to them, which fits obviously as it's the end of the show.
Harry Potter. Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 But this is the set from the club show The one that I posted is the one from Summer Sonic which is the first "real" show from this tour. Oh. I'm so sorry, then!
Kaddi. Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 I don't want them to stop playing the acoustic encore, I loved it! And I really love Welcome to Paradise, I'm just not sure whether it's a good opening song.
gd86arg Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 The first "real" show is gonna be in usa in november... Now's just the promo...
Isabel Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I wonder what they'll do on this album tour, re crowd participation...
DecanoLP Posted August 20, 2012 Author Posted August 20, 2012 Last night's set was way cooler. Nice Guys Finish Last and Burnout are back as well and Nice Guys Finish Last closing the main set is pretty amazing. The encore is weird though. Looks like they're getting started Can't wait for the next show!
StuckWithRob Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I don't think they should ever drop Basket Case, American Idiot etc because while they may be popular and overplayed, there's a reason why, because they're damn good songs. I think fans forget how good the likes of Holiday or Hitchin a Ride are as we hear them a lot and favour the rarities like Coming Clean etc
DecanoLP Posted August 20, 2012 Author Posted August 20, 2012 Apparently, the setlist on setlist.fm is wrong No Nice Guys Finish Last, Going To Pasalcqua, Burnout and Geek Stink Breath... Letterbomb and Give Me Novacaine were played instead. Damn, I really hope they start playing more (old) songs in France!
ColinOr Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 I've looked at set-lists from recent shows at Summer Sonic and London and I've noticed that Green Day havn't been playing Jesus Of Suburbia, which is their epic, grand, live song that has been a set-list fixture for the past 8 years, whilst all the other "classics"/"regulars" are getting played. Do you think it'll become a regular song again on the new tour or will it be left off set-lists as it has at these festivals and club shows?
Femme Gauche Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 I think that when you have a catalog as extensive as theirs, you kind of have to cut the ten-minute beast from it, because even though it is awesome, they like to have a little more rounded out setlist.

But they could maybe cut songs like Nice Guys Finish Last and She to make room for it. Jesus Of Suburbia is a much bigger deal than those 2 songs.
Idiotic Tendency... Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Billie has not used Blue in the new shows either!
TheJedi Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 they seem to be playing different setlists on every show, so i think they'll play Jesus Of Suburbia at some shows, of course. i think they want to play as many different songs as possible during this tour, so not everywhere just my guess i REALLY want them to play it though. it's just aaaamaaazing live.
~ Walking Contradiction Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Billie has not used Blue in the new shows either! He played it last night
Femme Gauche Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Billie has not used Blue in the new shows either! Really? .
Harry Potter. Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 But they could maybe cut songs like Nice Guys Finish Last and She to make room for it. Jesus Of Suburbia is a much bigger deal than those 2 songs. NO! Nice Guys Finish Last and She are CLASSICS. Means they CANNOT be dropped.
WhatsUpLucas Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Billie has not used Blue in the new shows either! wrong. They didn't play Stairway to Heaven either they also didn't play bohemian rhapsody.
Femme Gauche Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 But they could maybe cut songs like Nice Guys Finish Last and She to make room for it. Jesus Of Suburbia is a much bigger deal than those 2 songs. She has been a staple for a lot longer than Jesus of Suburbia. I'm not holding my breath for any of the current set list to remain the same. They're probably going to overhaul it completely.
StuckWithRob Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 It is a problem there are so many songs that HAVE to be played (but a good one!) Longview Welcome to Paradise Basket Case She When I Come Around Brain Stew Hitchin a Ride Good Riddance Minority American Idiot Jesus of Suburbia Holiday Boulevard of Broken Dreams Know Your Enemy Along with some new material (what seems popular) Oh Love 99 Revolutions Nuclear Family Stay the Night Carpe Diem etc And the occasional ones, and you see the problem. As Billie said 'I sort of shot myself in the foot with this one's when Zane Lowe asked him about it
WrongWayToSalvation Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Yeah, no need to make a thread though. (But i'll reply since you made it anyway... ) NO! Nice Guys Finish Last and She are CLASSICS. Means they CANNOT be dropped. I wouldn't go so far as to label Nice Guys Finish Last as a "classic". Unless you label every Green Day song before American Idiot as a classic.
Justin Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 If you take the 21cb setlist, you'll find certain songs like "21cb, static age, before the lobotomy, EJN" wont be played much if at all. Then i reckon "are we the waiting" "wmuwse" wont get played much, That basically gives enough room for new songs whilst keep the classics, there is no way "she" or "basket case" would get dropped, they're prominent songs from that era
