I would love it, but I don't think Emily's Army is gonna happen unless it were during the summer leg of the tour. Three of them are still in high school, and one is going to college!

Fever Charm could be a possibility. Seeing MCR open for them would be amazing, but highly unlikely since they're pretty big themselves. From what I've heard about them, I'd like to see Mystic Nights of the Cobra. Of course it would be so cool for the Network or the Foxboro Hot Tubs to open for them. :D

Joan Jett. I saw her open to the Foos, and she kills all. Shw knows how to rock. Seriusly

Let them, I say :P I was a bit unsure about them when I went to see them, I just went along for the craic and I like their music, but I was very pleasantly surprised :D I'd love to see them again and opening for Green Day would be spectacular.

Sorry for offending you, "gerard's angel" I'm not concerned about the pit being 'too rough' for me, but I'd rather get to enjoy a show than not be able to breathe and be constantly pushed for two hours like I have when I've seen MCR. and yes I realize that GD and MCR's fanbases overlap a lot but in my experience MCR fans are a lot more aggressive. also, I prefer to see MCR as a headliner. I like seeing them play longer sets and in smaller venues where the experience is more intimate. My Chem can easily afford to do their own headlining tours and I think it'd be great if Green Day brought a smaller, less well-known band along on tour.

LOL are you really going to stoop to mocking my username as a way of defending your honor? If it makes you feel any better, I go by GreenDayAngel everywhere else on the internet, but I couldn't use that name when I registered here since it was already taken. So I changed it slightly to reflect my second favorite band instead of my first. But if I was ashamed of either name, I wouldn't have used it.

Now, to the point: In *my* experience, MCR's audience is fairly tame and made up, primarily, of females in their teens and 20s with a smattering of parents and boyfriends thrown in. And I'm not just saying that to be a dick; It's a ridiculously noticeable majority of women compared to men. Even the band knows it. Green Day pits, on the other hand, seem to have a fairly even mix of adults, children, men, women, etc.

Out of the 10 MCR shows I've been too (which includes the first time Green Day and MCR toured together), I would only class two of them as having been particularly rough, which were the two homecoming shows they played at Starland in 2011. But Starland is a really small, cramped venue as it is; and it was the first time they had played their homestate in years on top of that. I can't foresee having the same problem in a big arena where people can spread out more. So, yes, from my perspective, your fears seem to be somewhat unfounded.

However, my biggest point lies with the fact that, if you don't enjoy being "constantly pushed for two hours", then you shouldn't be in the pit for any band at any show. Because pushing and shoving is what happens in pits. It comes with the territory. So if you can't enjoy a show that way, then you need to either buy a seat ticket or, at the very least, have enough common sense to stand all the way on the side or back edges of the pit where you won't get squashed (in which case, you also don't have to worry about competing with line campers for a prime spot).

Now, if you prefer seeing MCR as a headliner, that's fair enough. For my own part, I've found that I generally enjoy them just as much no matter where they are in the set, so it doesn't really bother me much (and the prospect of collaboration, like Davey Havok singing Holden Caulfield with Green Day on the last North American tour, is always exciting) . For that matter, I also think it'd be cool to see Green Day do a co-headline with No Doubt, since they're both promoting albums currently.

If MCR and Green Day toured together, and I got to see it, I could die happy. 30STM would be awesome too. It would be cool if Mayday Parade did. Or We The Kings, but neither of those bands really fit in with Green Day that much. Rise Against would be awesome too.

okay. I've had shitty experiences seeing MCR and you haven't. and just because their audience is comprised of females doesn't mean it won't be rough!

I was just explaining that the pits I've been in for their shows have been a lot rougher than any other shows I've been to. and I'm not some wimpy kid who isn't used to getting pushed around. I've had my share of bruises and battle wounds and I have a great time in the pit at most shows. but at MCR I had people clawing at me and trying to hurt me in order to get in front of me. That's what I meant. I said I wouldn't care to see MCR open because of what their shows have been like for me.

I think my ava shows what band I'd like to support Green Day.

But putting that aside, I think Rise Against would be awesome also.

Yes! I Saw her 3 years ago and she was amazing.

La Vida Boheme.

Yes, right, 'cause that could happen. But it'd be swell if it did.

Prima Donna or Social Distortion

I would spontaneously combust due to immense delight if it was Rise Against or Millencolin or Flogging Molly.

Posted

Alkaline Trio. Oh the fangirling that would commence.

Masked Intruder,Teenage Bottlerocket. I really hope green day would return to there roots and have bands open for them the way they had years and years ago like The Riverdales,Pansy Division,Tilt, and etc. But a band like Alkaline Trio be nice to see. I'm sorry since American idiot they have some of the worse bands ever open for them, Prima Donna was on of the worse, actually i'm wrong they had even worse then that.

Complete fantasy but I would pee everywhere if Bad Religion toured with Green Day again, this time in reverse order, this time I am out of diapers.

I'd cum if they got on before GD. But they've been really quiet lately..

They're supposed to be recording a new album this fall, but they'd be awesome to see open. They're a bigger band in their own right, I'd say same size as AFI, and that worked pretty well.

Well in my opinion I think it would be really amazing if Pansy Division toured with them again! But I don't think it will happen.

I also would love Franz Ferdinand, they were awesome in 2009.

And I agree with everyone that wants Alkaline Trio, I would be so happy if they toured with Green Day.
