Todd Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Warner is trying really hard to market so they make three albums worth of profit. Even though GD only gets paid one albums worth.

OT but does Green Day not get paid on commission also? Labels are so weird. If they sell 3 times as many albums in the next year, even if they're different albums, they should still be getting paid more than they normally would...

They only count as one record contractually. Warner is just trying to keep the guys with the label for as long as possible. They'll still get paid properly for however much the records sell individually.

Killsometime Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 I've watched CSI NY and I like it so watching this and hearing new green day day songs will be awesome.
Smoothed Out Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Wow, that's pretty awesome. I'll tell my Nan, she loves that programme.
InsideOut Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 http://www.cbspresse...s/view?id=33192 The action takes place when the CSIs race to catch a shooter after Lindsay (Anna Belknap) is injured during the attempted murder of a political candidate (guest star Neal McDonough). The music includes songs “Stop When The Red Lights Flash,” “Amy,” “Night Life,” “The Forgotten” and “Kill the DJ.” “My ultimate goal was to tell a story without dialogue, and Green Day's music and lyrics beautifully accompanied the visuals making it a very special episode,” said CSI: NY executive producer Pam Veasey, who wrote the episode. “We were stoked when we found out CSI: NY wanted to use our music instead of dialogue to narrate the first few acts of the episode,” said the members of Green Day. “It’s the first time something like this has been done on the series, and we are blown away with what we’ve seen.”
Heather. Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 That's a lot more intriguing than I was expecting... I figured the music would be faded, sporadic background noise. The fact that it's narrating the episode is so exciting. And those songs are so diverse, I can see how it would work. I'm surprised 99 Revolutions isn't used seeing as it's a political episode, but whatever!
Uno1Dos2Tre3 Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 The Forgotten's gonna be in it ... Now I don't know if I should watch the episode. I mean it's the last song on Tre dammit.
InsideOut Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 That's a lot more intriguing than I was expecting... Agreed! I really wonder how Nightlife and Kill The DJ will fit into the episode.
LittleBoyNamedTrain Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Hm. Not too sure about hearing bits of Amy before Dos is released. I'm looking forward to hearing that properly, in full.
lizziebix Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 This sounds so much more interesting than a normal CSI ep. Can't wait!!
Annie, get your gun Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I saw today new season will be here in November I'm looking forward to the episode! Edit: Amy!
suicidexmakeover Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Green Day..... Green Day everywhere....

The Snark Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I stopped watching this show for awhile, but started up again this season because there was nothing else on. Sounds like it's going to be a great episode!
Todd Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Well, if the forgotten is on twilight and csi, then its probably gonna be a single!
Sixtrix Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Well, if the forgotten is on twilight and csi, then its probably gonna be a single! There's a chance but I wonder if they already have decided what the singles will be on Tre. I really can't wait to hear how those songs will be narrating those few scenes in the episode. I actually thought they would use the songs in the background during an investigation montage or something like that (which I was pretty stoked for already) but this is much much more interesting! I really wonder if Dos! will be the unexpected best album of the 3. Most of us are mostly looking forward to Tre, thinking Dos will be (just) a nice garage sounding album. But if even CSI NY is using a few songs from Dos, and most of the new Green Day songs that will be used in the episode are from Dos, that could be a small hint that Dos could be more awesome than how we already are imagining it.
Dori_Epiphone Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 My Hope is that the forgotten is a very sad song
Todd Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Someone gonna dvr this and then rip a high quality song for us?
Dalya Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 So where'll we watch this episode? My Hope is that the forgotten is a very sad song My Hope is that the forgotten is a very sad song Well, the title itself describes the way you want
Femme Gauche Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 So where'll we watch this episode? Well, the title itself describes the way you want Not necessarily, it could be really upbeat-sounding (though lyrically probably not). I've always been looking forward most to Dos, personally xD.
