San Miguel Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I thought someone confirmed that we get Kill The DJ on September 4th...? And since they filmed a video for it already, I presumed it is the next single. For the UK as well as the US. I hope it is, anyway! It's such a good song, and really radio-friendly! I highly doubt Stay The Night would be next though. They haven't really mentioned it. And, I don't know, it just seems too simple and like not enough of a statement. Kill The DJ is different and interesting, but Stay The Night, while a good song, just doesn't sound like something that would suddenly get people interested in Green Day. If people have heard their past stuff and not been interested, Stay The Night wouldn't be a song to change their minds. But Kill The DJ is different enough that it could. I kind of think Stay the Night will be the next single because it's more like what people would expect from Green Day. Oh Love is a slower song and Kill the DJ is so different from what they usually do, that it might make sense to remind people of the 'typical Green Day sound' (if there is such a thing) by releasing a single that is fast and catchy like Stay the Night. i think Let Yourself Go would've been a candidate for a single if it didn't have 'fuck' in it so much. they managed to change Kill the DJ to overcome that but you couldn't surely with LYG. especially with the "you're fucking with my fucking head now" bit

DannyDirnt Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Cool. It's gonna be released mid september if I remember it right.. Off topic: Are you still on the thread What if Green Day? I thought it died, never seen it again

No, that has not been confirmed. If the iTunes deluxe version of ¡Uno! is any indication, Stay the Night will get some form of release before the album is out.
Dori_Epiphone Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I preordered OH LOVE today from amazon.de
DannyDirnt Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I preordered OH LOVE today from amazon.de How can you preorder something that has already been released?
Sanity Loan Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 How can you preorder something that has already been released? Obviously it hasn't been released in Germany yet..... CD singles don't always get released the same day as the digital single.
Raven93 Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Ahh the debate if Let Yourself Go or Stay The Night is the next single ..... Gonna enjoy this
Dori_Epiphone Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 How can you preorder something that has already been released? I preordered the CD (31.8.)
DannyDirnt Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Obviously it hasn't been released in Germany yet..... Not that obviously, but ok thanks.
Sanity Loan Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Ahh the debate if Let Yourself Go or Stay The Night is the next single ..... Gonna enjoy this There's no "single" with LYG. The live video was its release and that's all it will get. "Stay the Night" is the next release - doesn't have to necessarily be a single but it will be a release before the album is out. The iTunes Deluxe version is a tell-all for the tracks that will be released before the album is out.

Singles: Its Fuck Time Lady Cobra Wild One Amy iTRE! Singles: 99 Revolutions Stray Heart Brutal Love X - Kid You don´t even know all the songs and want them here to be singles?! That´s so stupid
Sanity Loan Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Just so everyone is clear, there is a huge difference between a single and a release. So far, "Oh Love" and "Kill the DJ" are single releases, while "Let Yourself Go" is just simply a release.
Soroush Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 to me KTDJ should have been a worldwide hit single instead of being just 4 UK. it really is a catchy number. It could do perfectly well.
