desertrose Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Green Day mentioned in KROQ's "Rock's Most Shocking Stories of 2012" Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day Submits to Rehab – All systems in the Green Day camp were on go at the onset of the year, with the Bay Area power-punk trio laying down enough tracks for three full-length albums, Uno!, Dos! and Tre!, which were originally scheduled to be released over several months. As the band were already knee-deep in a promotional blitz around the launch of Uno! when it all came to a screeching halt on September 28th onstage at a Las Vegas radio show. Band frontman Billie Joe Armstrong let fly with a profane tirade towards the end of their set, berating show organizers and smashing his guitar. While Green Day quickly apologized for the outburst on the band’s website, within two days Armstrong had checked into rehab, with word coming out that the singer was dealing with alcohol issues following a year of sobriety. In the resulting fallout, albums sales for the trilogy have been flat without the band able to go on the road to support it. http://kroq.cbslocal.com/2012/12/28/rocks-most-shocking-stories-of-2012-green-day-beastie-boys-against-me-and-more/

PanicAttack! Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 I thought this was random. If anybody out there knows about the Epic Rap Battles of History, one of the guys behind it, Dante, recently covered J.A.R on his channel. The cover itself is acoustic and alright, but I was just mostly surprised cause it was the first time that I've clicked on his channel. It was very random and I didn't know what to expect, as he's not one of the main guys in the project, he does the backing tracks I believe. Anyways, I viewed whatever video was on the front of his page without looking at the title, and didn't recognise it at all until "My friend drove off the other day" came out. He writes "One of my favorite songs by a band I loved very much" in the description, which I take as he either just grew apart from them and used to be a fan, or else he dislikes their current music and style. But whatever, I was just surprised and happy about bumping randomly into it, and thought I'd share it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNRyo3JyliY It leads to me encouraging you all to go suggest them to portrait Billie Joe in one of their battles, they have done alot of musicians, and if there is a fan involved, it might have a shot

This makes me like them even more now. Very cool. Who would be good for Billie to battle against? Justin Bieber?
Davis Weiss Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Becuase a rockstar throwing a tantrum is SO shocking. A punk rocker from the punk rock band Green Day that used to light their instruments on fire and destroy stages had a little outburst. That's just really out of the blue that he would have a tantrum like that. Never saw it coming. (Sarcasm font needed for those who take this post a little too seriously)
