Cob Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 He saw their potential and he knew that they could be big one day...and he wasn't wrong. And we know that because the band is huge; had he been wrong we wouldn't know because well, no one here wouldn't even know or care who Green Day was.

That's all very nice and prophetic when stated well after the fact... Anyway, you don't need to convince me, I have nothing against LL.
Zach Perron Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 I was looking through my Facebook, and I saw that James Durbin ( the fourth runner up in the 2011 season of American Idol) listed Billie Joe Armstrong's tattoo sleeves as his favorite!

JIGD13 Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Green Day is included in the Rolling Stone's New Immortals list http://www.rollingstone.com/music/lists/the-new-immortals-20130305/green-day-19691231?stop_mobi=yes
KGLWW Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Green Day is included in the Rolling Stone's New Immortals listhttp://www.rollingstone.com/music/lists/the-new-immortals-20130305/green-day-19691231?stop_mobi=yes I am not sure I really follow this list. The Strokes really? They are a good band but out of all the biggest breakout artists from the 90's I feel like they are the most forgotten. Local record stores don't even have a section for them anymore. It is sad really. And Taylor Swift? I can see some of the pop acts on there but it could definitely could use more rock standards. Taylor Swift is like the poppier and more forgettable version of Avril Lavigne. Avril will at least be relevant for another half to full decade more dating back to 2000. Taylor Swift I give her no more than ten years from her first record. The poppier her music gers the more irrelevant she will become. Nobody in country music even cares about her anymore. Sorry I just think that is a little early to call that. Not that I wish her bad luck or anything.

They are talking about modern artist so Taylor Swift is one of the most popular artists in the world, so I'm sure she will be rembered, but Green Day is 1000000000000000000000000000000000000 better than her
HolyHandGrenade Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Green Day is included in the Rolling Stone's New Immortals listhttp://www.rollingstone.com/music/lists/the-new-immortals-20130305/green-day-19691231?stop_mobi=yes The Foo should definitely be on there.
JIGD13 Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 The Foo should definitely be on there. Yes, They should!
KGLWW Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 The Foo should definitely be on there. And Radiohead and Metallica (tho I am not sure they would qualify) maybe Bright Eyes, Dave Matthews Band, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Chili Peppers (probably wouldn't qualify), Weezer, Rage Against the Machine, Muse, hell even Coldplay, The Killers and Linkin Park... At least they put Arcade Fire in there. I guess you could say some of those bands aren't that active or are just coming back after a long lay off. Chili's and Metallica are already in the hall of fame so that could be why they aren't included.
ollhjr Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/the-ultimate-late-90searly-2000s-poppunk-mashup Here's an interesting matchup that includes some Green Day and every band that followed them in the mid 90's early 2000's.
itz_brittany87 Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I'm watching VH1 and they are doing a countdown of the 100 sexiest artists and Billie Joe made the list at number 61. I'm sure they will repeat it all this week and into the weekend but it kind of caught me by surprise.
