Sanity Loan Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Yes that is 100% true... you know what i mean though yes? I do. Just can't jump the gun.
Fuzz Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I think there's much more here musically than Know Your Enemy. It is simplistic, but not in a way that makes me feel it's a cheap song.
TheBasketcase Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I love Billie Joe's voice here, but idk about the chorus, I'm not that into it. But still, I know I'll be into it & I love Green Day so much! I actually like the chorus and the verses are what I'm getting used to haha but I do love the song!
beejeezee Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Guys, this is basically the Know Your Enemy of this record. Catchy as fuck song, even if there's not much going on lyrically or musically. Except Know Your Enemy didn't have me jizzing in my pants.
alaniluau Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 And now I have to go out in the world and function normally all day? That voice! That catchy melody! That guitar at the bridge! I can imagine someone hearing this on the radio and thinking, "Whoa, the singer of this band almost sounds like the guy from Green Day."
The Pedestrian Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 To quote Tre Cool: "Jeez....." IT’S NOT FUCKING AUTO-TUNED!!!!!!!!!!! Billie hits that high “in love" in the live recordings (which to me is the best bit of the song).
Kitty Purry Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 why are people complaining about the lyrics i find it very billie joe? People like to bitch dont they
whatshername0303 Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Oh love and Green Day were trending on Twitter in Canada a couple minutes ago... Now it's "Green Day and No Doubt". I know it's a little bit off topic, but I wanna share this.
Harriet Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Not sure how I feel about it yet, I think it'll grow on me. It's catchy as hell though, and the solo is awesome. The lyrics don't inspire me. Not sure about it as a choice of single cause it's 5mins long, and I think based on the clips we've heard in studio videos they could have picked a more upbeat song. But I reckon that'll come out closer to the album's release. I look forward to buying it anyway. This song is gonna be so fucking powerful live.
Sanity Loan Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 What would be the meaning? I know it's off-topic, but I hate not being able to get the meaning of song lines, and this is one that I can't get. Sacrificial suicide: Someone is more or less killing themselves/sacrificing themselves when they commit to a religious institution. Like a dog's that's been sodomized: Sodomy is butt sex... so it's like you're getting fucked up the butt when you commit yourself to a religion. It's very anti-religious... and I like it.
Silent Duck Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Oh love and Green Day was trending on Twitter in Canada a couple minutes ago... Now it's "Green Day and No Doubt". ... Must be photoshopped, Nickelback aren't trending too.
99 Revolutions Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I have no words to describe how much I love this song (I would put a heart smiley except im on my phone) I keep hearing "choosers" as "cheezit" XD Guys. Im in love.
Sarcasm Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Must be photoshopped, Nickelback aren't trending too. Nickelback<3 anyway, for the music video, I'm hoping to see stuff get fucking smashed and destroyed. No matter what the theme of the song, I wanna see energy directed negatively on breakable objects.
Kitty Purry Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 hahhaha billie joe always sounds whiney and nasal i dont what the hell people been listening the last years
Pallidpallas Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 To quote Tre Cool: "Jeez....." IT’S NOT FUCKING AUTO-TUNED!!!!!!!!!!! Billie hits that high “in love" in the live recordings (which to me is the best bit of the song). Absolutely. I hear no auto tune and its not needed anyway. He can and does sing like a motherfucker. I hear echo and reverb, and augmentation.
Beathe. Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 The song is okay, maybe I'll like it more after a while. I wonder what the musicvideo is going to be like.
Nele Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I think it's a bit like when Know Your Enemy came out. First I'm excited as hell for a new song, then I only think it's decent and when the album comes out there are going to be lots more songs I'm going to like better and I'm going to ask myself why I was worried about the quality of the album.
Ritz Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Oh love is awesome as fuck ! I loved the lyrics, the music is awesome. The solo is cool and funky ! Billie sounds awesome no doubt ! The bass is great, the drums are good ! It exceeded my expectation. It tooooo good , just fucking awesome. I'm still shaken up and not being able to type correctly and steadily ! Green Day effect !!
sauser Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I don't like the way of it's EQ, billie's voice sounds a little bad on the bridge, too much chorus and reverb. The sound is totally different of AI, 21stCB and all the others albums, I thought that the sound could be like a Warning sound, but it's completely different. Not sure if I dig it.
Kitty Purry Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 we still have songs like Fuck Time, Stray Heart, Carpe diem, people you dont have to worry if dont like this song there are still 36 left!
Heather. Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 The only reason this won't be a radio hit is because it's 5 minutes. But No Doubt's new single is 6 minutes, so at least we're not as screwed as they are, the dumbfucks
