Heather. Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I hear it on the radio almost every day now that the alternative station is back. I've only heard it on mainstream radio once or twice though.
Clockwise Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I'm really connecting to this song on a higher level, now that I've had so much time to sit with it. I feel a lot of it is just about living life, about maybe wanting to live life to the fullest, and sort of struggling to break free.
DecanoLP Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Damn, the song is out for about a month now and I have to admit that I really start liking it... The chorus with these amazing harmonies is catchy as hell and the nice simplicity of this song makes it a pretty cool album closer in my opinion I can't wait to hear it live.
lizziebix Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 It was #18 on VH1 Top 20 Countdown this morning. Need to remember to vote to get it into a higher slot next week!

99 Revolutions Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Just for you info, there was already a clean version I know, I've heard it plenty of times when I was little and it was my fav. song I was more or less trying to say that there is always somebody that goes, "a song with the word 'America" in it, it MUST be a good song about 'merica!" But I guess I worded it weird, sorry.

angry_robot Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Y'know, I feel like I finally got into that song. I had this two crazy drinking-party nights this weekend and when on friday evening I stepped out from my house to go there, Oh Love came out on shuffle and fit in situation perfectly, exactly what Billie said, preparation for the party!
DannyDirnt Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I also like it more now. My ranking now would be like Let Yourself Go > Oh Love > Kill the DJ but I like all of them.

Heather. Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 5th week for Oh Love at #1 on the US Billboard Rock charts! And last week it had debuted at #100 on the Hot 100.... in its second week, it has jumped all the way up to the prestigious #97 position It'll be interesting to see how playing Oh Love at the VMAs affects its mainstream success.
Edwood Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 5th week for Oh Love at #1 on the US Billboard Rock charts! And last week it had debuted at #100 on the Hot 100.... in its second week, it has jumped all the way up to the prestigious #97 position It'll be interesting to see how playing Oh Love at the VMAs affects its mainstream success. How do we know for certain that they will be playing Oh Love at the VMAs? Is it because they were playing it in the commercial? In order to show the general public that UNO isn't made up of power ballads, I believe they should play either Stay the Night or Kill the DJ. The VMAs are going to be a huge promotional opportunity, and I don’t think they should waste it by playing the slowest song off the first record.
1039SweetChildren Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 It'll be interesting to see if they continue to push "Oh Love" with the VMA's or move onto another single. I think they gotta stick with the single now and hope it takes off because throwing another song out there might get a little complicated. Especially since a first single from Dos should be right around the corner time-wise.
Guest Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 They should do a medley of a few new songs, that would be awesome!
DannyDirnt Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 I hope they don't play Oh Love. I'd like them to play Kill the DJ or Let Yourself Go.
Heather. Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 I swear I saw it confirmed or heard Billie say that they did plan to play Oh Love at the VMAs. That doesn't mean they will, like in 1995 they were supposed to play Basket Case and they played Armatage Shanks.
Soroush Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Billie always says that VMAs is about chaos and Oh Love really doesn't fit that. the best choice is KTDJ as far as I can see
crazyeyes Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 For a while, everybody seemed to be wondering why Green Day would release a closing album song as a single. To me, now it starts to make sense because of its sound. "Oh Love" sounded different, but not too unfamiliar to past Green Day songs (at least to me). It seems like each new song they release/leak is a little more different from what people are used to the band producing. It's like the band is trying to ease everybody into their new direction.
Annie, get your gun Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Billie always says that VMAs is about chaos and Oh Love really doesn't fit that. the best choice is KTDJ as far as I can see Yes! I'm really hoping they can play that!! It would be so awesome
icyfire34 Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Yes! I'm really hoping they can play that!! It would be so awesome I def agree, but this topic is leaning to the VMA's now
warding_off_regrets Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 I swear I saw it confirmed or heard Billie say that they did plan to play Oh Love at the VMAs. That doesn't mean they will, like in 1995 they were supposed to play Basket Case and they played Armatage Shanks. A few days ago I would have said "Nah, they wouldn't do that type of thing anymore." Then I saw the video from Rock am See.
