Any musician who plays on a Green Day song/album always gets credited for it. For example Jason Freese is credited in the 21st CB booklet for the piano he played on the album. All Jason White being credited here shows is that he played guitar on the song. That's awesome , since he's never played on a studio recording of a Green Day song before. But it doesn't mean anything more than that.

Exactly. There's a difference between playing on an album, and writing the music for it.

Have we found out what shows the live songs are from yet? I haven't been on in a while.

Agreed. But even if he has contributed to writing the music, again all that would mean is he's now contributing to writing the music. He's already a part of Green Day without being an "official member", doing one more thing doesn't automatically make him one. Unless they say he is or he starts acting like one there's no reason to make assumptions that he is.

^ Having Jason on the cover of the dvd would make absolute no sense. Is nice (and right) that he appears on the credits for all his contribution, but the dvd is the making of the trilogy, is not exactly something that needs another theme; like UNO, DOS and TRÉ with Billie, Mike and Tré.

Or perhaps a photo of all four of them. Would be a perfect way to officially announce they're a foursome now if in fact that's what they consider themselves to be.

I was scrolling down iTunes and I noticed that Oh Love has 87 plays. I know that's not that much, but god damn, it kinda is. I guess I'll just bump it up in anticipation of the music video which better kick ass!

Video premiere and 30 minute interview on next Wednesday:

Green Day are about to unveil their "crotch areas" on MTV.

Yes, next Wednesday (August 15), they'll officially premiere their brand-new video for "Oh Love" on MTV, then stick around for a 30-minute interview with MTV News' Sway Calloway on MTV.com. It's all part of "MTV First: Green Day," and it kicks off at 7:49 p.m. ET.

Following the "Oh Love" world premiere, the music video will go into immediate rotation on MTV Hits and mtvU, and will debut on AMTV the following morning.

"Oh Love" is, of course, the first single taken from the band's upcoming trilogy of albums — ¡Uno! ¡Dos! and ¡Tre! — and the video was directed by the band's longtime collaborator Samuel Bayer, who has directed clips like "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," which won an armload of Moonmen at the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards, including Video of The Year.

As for the song itself, well, it's a bit of a departure from recent Green Day hits, mostly because, as frontman Billie Joe Armstrong told MTV News last month, it's not some heady, politically charged number. Instead, it deals squarely with matters of the heart ... not to mention a few other vital areas of the anatomy:

"'Oh Love' is kind of like leading with your heart and not necessarily with your brain as much," he said. "And [also] kind of maybe losing your mind, and shooting a little bit more from the crotch area."

And you can catch all the crotch-centric action when Green Day debut the video for "Oh Love" during "MTV First: Green Day," airing Wednesday, August 15 at 7:49 p.m. ET on MTV! Users from outside the United States can watch by visiting OhLove.MTV.com simultaneously.

The 30 minute interview is going to be shown on MTV.com as opposed to the actual TV channel. That wasn't mentioned in the news post, not sure if you were under that impression.

Of course MTV can't dedicate even a 30 minute program to Green Day on TV anymore.

Yay, I'm excited to see the Oh Love video!! And it's great that we get a 30-minute interview! That will be the most so far!

(At first I thought it said 3-second interview.... I wasn't impressed. Then I realized I was misreading it, haha)

So if Oh Love's video premieres on Wednesday, does Kill The DJ still premiere the day before that on Tuesday?? Seems a little odd, but idk. And then I guess Kill The DJ's interview would come out some days/weeks after that?

I'm confused.

Of course, we can't see that video in the UK.

Can someone put it on Youtube, please? I'll give you a big hug. I know it's only short but it'd still be nice to see it.
