Sixtrix
Who cares that??? I just care about my favorite bands, not music industry, top charts, radio stations or MTV. That's why we love internet, don't we? Oh love is a good song for me, I don't care about general audience Well what I mean to say is, when I know a new Green Day song will be premiered on the radio I have to listen to a pile of junk till they finally play Green Day. It's just literally depressing what you have to go through to listen to the music that's topping the charts these days. It won't hurt to add even a bit of good or decent rock music with real instruments and no technical special effects added to the vocals *cough*Katy Perry*cough* in there
No Rhyme Or Reason
Rock music as a whole just isn't popular right now. I can't even tell you the last time I heard a rock band on any pop stations or anything like that. It, sadly, doesn't really surprise me Oh Love isn't doing good on the charts right now given what's considered popular music these days. It's sad that according to the general audience and radio stations Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry are the best artists to offer music around this time. With that kind if bullshit it's clear that the music industry is kind of beyond repair. I mentioned this a few weeks ago about rock music: Rock music isn't totally irrelevant now. In the last year it's kind of, slowly been coming back. Like Foster The People's "Pumped Up Kicks" and Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know" - they're kind of rock-ish. Certainly more than most popular music in the last couple years. Even Adele's songs have a rock influence. I think rock music is making a comeback, it's just kind of getting a slow start. It just seems that people are a little less interested in super pop songs like from Lady Gaga and are starting to have more interest in more raw sounding music. I hope Green Day will push it over the edge to a real popular interest in rock again. If any band can, Green Day's it. Plus, even 3 years ago when Lady Gaga was EVERYWHERE (it was king of annoying, like I couldn't escape her, haha), Green Day still got a hit single out of 21 Guns. So it's possible despite the less-than-ideal musical climate. Rock music is (maybe) starting to come back. Like with politics, music seems to swing back and forth with what styles are popular, and the dance pop thing can only last so long before people will get sick of it. Considering the emergence of more rock-based sounds in the last year, I think it's starting to shift back over in the direction of rock, and hopefully Green Day can help with that. And see lots of radio airplay, album sales, and awards in the process I don't think the music business is beyond repair. I mean, just 10-15 years ago, people like Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys were all over the radio. Then it started changing and became more pop rock by the early/mid 2000s (when I started getting into music). The music on the radio was really good for a few years there in my opinion, hence all the good rock bands I discovered between 2004 and 2006 (such as Green Day!). And the music industry as a whole has always had good and bad decades. They might bounce back, or they might fall even farther behind and become obsolete as new ways of getting music out there emerge. I would love to see Green Day do well on radio, and with album sales and awards. It just makes me more confident that people can have good taste in music, and it makes it easier for new people to discover GD and their music and fall in love with them (like I did 8 years ago) and become a lifelong fan. I feel like it's more than just me appreciating great music. It's like their music is being recognized for the awesomeness that it is, and I like to see them get the recognition I feel they deserve. They deserve Grammys and high album sales more than a lot of the crap out there, and I want them to have that success - in addition to any self satisfaction they have, and the pleasure all of us fans will have regardless. No Rhyme Or Reason
Ok, I got it. That's why I just listen to music on Internet. Many times I don't listen to the radio, you know? But in the car it's easier to use the radio. Actually, that's why I just make mix CDs to listen to. I only listen to the songs I like that way. Maybe I am just getting old, I don't know, but the music that's filling the radio/tv/charts has never annoyed me this much ever before. I'm not saying everything that's being put out these days is bad. But when I'm at work I am not allowed to put my own cd on, they always just turn the radio on. And I think I just prefer complete silence than to listen to what's on the radio. I'm sure people still have a good taste when it comes to music. I just think the majority is just misguided by recent trends in music. The bigger the image the more interesting the music. I might be wrong, but that's not the essence of music or at least how it used to be and how it started off as.
sampy
Apparently Oh Love is this week's pick for pole called Rautaa vai roskaa? (Rock or Rubbish?) on Finnish radio station Radio Rock. Currently it's 27,91% rock and 72,09% rubbish.. This station plays a lot of Green Day but majority of the music there is metal and hard rock, and the most of the listeners also prefer those genres. http://www.radiorock.fi/node/442982

I found my old cassetes and put it in my dad's old stereo. Music wasn't so bad as it's now. I listen to the radio only in car with my mom and I really want to change the radiostation, but my mom doesn't, so I listen to shitty sounds, songs, whicg are made only of 4 verse, songs, which all ara about sex and they're sensless IMO. I even pray for more pop from 80's! I'm so happy, when my mom put on cd with mix of Alphavile songs. That was pop. It was full of electronics, but it was much better then Nicki Minaje, Pitbull or Flo-Rida. There's still some great pop but not on the radio. To tell the truth I don't expect to hear Oh Love in the most popular Polish radiostation.
Hermione
I never listen to the radio or follow any charts so I'm not that bothered how it does, singles and charts seem to work so differently to how they used to these days that I've given up following them. I hope the albums are promoted properly and well received just for the band's sake but I can't really be arsed with thinking about chart positions and such. Now that it's proper hot summer instead of seemingly endless miserable rain I'm enjoying this song even more. Nothing better than walking along on a nice sunny day with it blaring in my ears

Like they say, they've got nothing to prove to anyone anymore. And I love that attitude! And yes, perfect happy summer song to listen to as much as possible while we actually have a bit of summer lol
Sarcasm
Well it clearly says "Lurker of Chalice" No but seriously, what the hell is that logo's deal. It looks like some kind of maze on expert level. Did you google the same thing I did?

warding_off_regrets
Every night at 9m my local rock station (one of the bigger stations in the Hudson Valley in New York) plays the top 5 requested songs of the day, and last night "Oh Love" was at #1. I haven't been checking or listening for other days, but I imagine it's probably been floating around in the top 5 requests for a while now. GuitarPunk94
i forced my girlfriend to listen to Oh Love today..after listening to it she told me that she dislike the song (more negative things like "the song is way too long (5min), the song is too 'slow' for being a GD song") 5 minutes later i went into the kitchen where she was singing the song..the catchy chorus got her
Ritz
Okay yeah I'm still hooked to the song and now my brother who's 8 years old was humming the chorus. Ritz
A solo cut out as a radio edit ? It takes away the charm of the song ! Especially in the case of Oh Love. The solo is amazing, it shouldn't have been cut out :/
