Sixtrix Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 the song gets boring somehow. I've listened to much to it (i can't believe that I'm writing that ) Damn, this song really gets better every listen. Love the new sound and everything, that's Green Day how it should be. Funny how the contrast continues
PasalacquaBomb Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Funny how the contrast continues Overplaying is always a problem. Most of the songs I've overplayed were the commercial ones, WMUWSE, 21 Guns, BOBD though. But it's okay, just give it a break.
Hermione Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Billboard just posted this. http://www.billboard...007645552.story It seems to be getting alot of air time for such a new track. Yay! I hadn't even thought about how well it would do in the charts and stuff. Excellent news that it's doing well
petros Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Don't really care about how good songs go on charts but it's good to see that many people care about rock music in general after all...
Pedestrian9394 Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Is it really really awful that I don't like the song that much? I think the instrumental and vocal aspects of it sound fresh and energetic; I dig. But the lyrics bore me, as the more "pop" side of Green Day has never been my favorite. To me, it kind of sounds like something that could have been on 21st Century Breakdown, but got watered down. And I honestly think they're on a mission to find as many random ways as possible to use the whole noose theme. It's getting old. Any way that I've tried to break it down, "wearing my heart on a noose" just sounds super cheesey to me. It's a good single because it's catchy, but I really think it'll be a lot like Know Your Enemy, where people get jacked over a song with a good beat and then realize most of the album is much better. I hope people don't think I'm just mindlessly hating on the song. I'm as excited as everyone else for all the new material, and I'm sure it'll only get better from here.
Todd Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Lots of people dont like it. Honestly, I think this song is old, this thread should be shut down. How can people still be talking about this song?

beejeezee Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 the song gets boring somehow. I've listened to much to it (i can't believe that I'm writing that ) Really? I'm not sick of it yet
Hanner Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 anyone hear the ad on Spotify with Billie talking about the song?
Fuzz Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 anyone hear the ad on Spotify with Billie talking about the song? No! I want to hear that.
Hanner Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 No! I want to hear that. I guess it was more of promoting the song like 'yo go listen to our new song right now' type of thing. I don't remember exactly what he said as I too confused as to why his voice was coming out of my speakers. But then there's a link to listen to the song.
Glynnis Stevenson Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 I seriously love it when Billie, Mike, and Tre are everywhere can't wait to see them perform this at awards shows

How can people still be talking about this song? ... are you for real? It's been out for one week! In that case 'song of the week' is pointless!
Ritz Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 I just don't have the patience to read 3 more pages. :/ I don't know what u guys are discussing but I'd like to say this again that this song is addictive I got to listen to the HQ version, and its quite an experience. Its kinda mindblowing and awesome ! And I just heard that its gonna debut at Billboard at Number 1 which is a great news all in all ! I just can't wait for the video to come out
Alan86 Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Just to clarify and put things in perspective, That billboard rock chart is just for Radio Airplay on rock radio stations. Its not top of the Billboard chart. Infact sales of the single were so poor that it will not make the top 100 billboard sales chart.

Alan86 Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Why do you have to hurt my feelings like this? My Apologies Would it be even worse if I told you that Know Your Enemy did better too?
Sixtrix Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 What era was that from? Warning era. As far as I know it was used on t-shirts back then. I used to have one but it got lost somehow (I think someone took it) Maybe you can still find those t-shirts on e-bay. ..maybe mine is on there too.. I better go take a look
pieterv Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Well, the sales are no surprise. It's been advertised to Green Day fans but not to anyone else.
Sixtrix Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Well, the sales are no surprise. It's been advertised to Green Day fans but not to anyone else. Agreed. The music video will change that a bit, I think
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Well, the song hasn't quite hit the awesome mark with me. I've listened to it three or four times, that's it. It's super catchy, especially the chorus, and that's good for a single and for the song sticking in my head, but I hope this doesn't set the standard for the albums. It's good but it's not amazing and amazing is what I've come to expect from these guys though I'm totally looking forward to seeing this live, it's great to sing along to. Also did I mention that it is incredibly catchy.
Bastard of 1967 Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Well, the song hasn't quite hit the awesome mark with me. I've listened to it three or four times, that's it. It's super catchy, especially the chorus, and that's good for a single and for the song sticking in my head, but I hope this doesn't set the standard for the albums. It's the intro single. I don't think it's intended to be a top seller, it's just intended to say "hey y'all, Green Day's back and they're doing something new". Let's suppose for the sake of argument that Oh Love turns out to be the worst song on the trilogy, whatever one means by "worst". The whole thing's still going to be awesome.
