The Snark Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Hmmm, I've never really associated these two songs. To me, Poprocks is not as slow as Oh Love, and they don't share the same melody. I never said they were the same. They just remind me of each other.
DoodleBob Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I knew this song reminded me of another one that they've done and it was driving me crazy! Last night I was humming it when I realized that my brain kept switching over to Poprocks & Coke and that's the song. They have to same semi-slow yet dancey, happy vibe to them. Wow, I've never thought about that before, but I totally get what you mean. I've always loved their little happy songs (especially Poprocks and Coke), so I guess it would make sense why I like Oh Love a lot.

Now that you mention it, absolutely.
Sixtrix Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Yay! Kill the DJ's gonna be the next single! (most likely) Green Day Rumors Twitter- "Thanks! More evidence... RT "@GDkatie: Kerrang Radio just said that Kill The DJ will be released on the 14th August!" If that's true, and the song is as amazing as I am imagining it to be, then HELL FUCKING YEAH!!
Starred Thoughts Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I think that the iTunes store needs to have an advertisement on the homepage for this single by now. I mean come on, they're advertising a new Kidz Bop album instead of a new Green Day single? How is Kidz Bop even still in business...

Sixtrix Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Maybe they want to go full promotion with the video and rather promote the video on ITunes instead of the single
Starred Thoughts Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I rock out to Kidz Bop hardcore and shit. This. Who the fuck is Kidz Bop? Kidz Bop is an album that comes out every year or so that has a compilation of the biggest hit songs sung by children and the lyrics are changed in some cases to be more clean and kid-friendly. But back to promoting, I completely forgot about the music video. I guess that might make more sense for when iTunes would actually give it publicity.

Aahw that actually sounds pretty cute. It's Fuck Time should definitely be on its next release
AndrewW91 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I wonder if they'll be premiering the video on TV (Vh1?) like they did back with Know Your Enemy. I remember I took the day off of work for that shit...
solongfromthestars Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Aww, the tracklist for the EP. No I don't have to buy it but it's still disappointing.
Malleus Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Aahw that actually sounds pretty cute. It's Fuck Time should definitely be on its next release People get filled with this ridiculous and insane rage every time they are on TV or something and I've never understood why. It's just harmless fun.
TheJedi Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 It's also on Spotify now! finally already bought it on itunes but i like spotify better haha
sampy Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 finally already bought it on itunes but i like spotify better haha I don't even use iTunes, I prefer Spotify too
Pixus Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 It gets better every time I listen to it. I find "Talk myself out of feeling" a lot like " Drain the pressure from the swelling" from Give Me Novocaine, or somewhere near. It's resonating in my head. And, the solo is amazing.

One other takeaway my wife though of when she heard it last night -- "talk my way out of control" -- he's talking himself into taking that daring leap, essentially talking himself into losing control.
Annie, get your gun Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 So another different song will come out as single in England? Nothing special for us too, spanish-speaking people?...Ok... I'll be more than happy with the release of the 3 records here then, that's all I ask.
desertrose Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 "Hi we're Green Day. Check out our new single, 'Oh Love'. See ya a Summer Sonic." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJZ5Lwpz6Ik

Pinheadstern Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 OH SO GOOD! so fucking pretty . makes me wanting more and more and more ...... feeling greedy !
DannyDirnt Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Check this out. Walmart will be releasing an Exclusive CD - EP on Aug 14. But you can preorder your copy NOW online for $5. Tracks will be: “Oh Love” “American Idiot” (Live) “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” (Live) “21 Guns” (Live) “Know Your Enemy” (Live) You're welcome! Oh crap! They could have put some old songs instead of the same overplayed stuff
warding_off_regrets Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Count me in as one of the people smitten with the song. I can't wait to hear it live - the chorus will be goosebump inducing. I also love it as a closer for ¡Uno!, with "tonight my heart's on the loose" as a perfect summation of his mentality as he enters the "party." So excited for everything to come
