The video reminded be a lot of some levels in Rayman 3 where you had to use a skateboard to go through a platform level, it was kinda cool. These ones. I liked the video a lot, and the song was amazing.

Although the song itself doesn't excite me very much, I love being able to read this thread and feel the excitement of everyone. It makes me so happy knowing that people all around the world are uniting through one five minute audio clip :)

Personally, this song is a little too repetitive for my taste. I keep waiting for it to really kick in, and then... nothing. Maybe if it was shorter it would seem less redundant to me. It's not bad, but I'm not obsessing over it either. I do like the overall vibe of the song, though, so I'll be looking forward to the rest of Uno. I'm hoping that the album will hold on to the raw, yet epic, sound that we heard in Oh Love.

One lyric that really stood out to me in this song is "I'm wearing my heart on a noose". I'm not exactly sure what he means by this, but the phrase just gives me chills. It sort of reminds me of the "holding on my heart like a hand grenade" line from She's A Rebel. I really like the contradiction between a heart, which represents love and passion, and the noose (or grenade), that represents destruction and death. I love Billie's ability to incorporate things like that into his writing.

I think a lot of GD fans are scared of change in their sound, myself included. But this is good.

I guess I'm one of the few who are not scared at all, but, instead, excited.

I listened to it 42 times (If i counted right..)! Who will be first to 100? hahah..

Yeah. big no no. Always listen to tracks before reading reviews from here or anywhere else. I don't like to be prejudiced by someone else's thoughts.

Having their love "rain" on you, in light of tracks like "Fuck Time" might have a nastier meaning than you are thinking.

Sure, I love the idea of the happiness of driving through the beautiful UK countryside with your bo but...ok, ill stop.

You know what would be funny, is an upbeat poppy track like this with just horribly nasty lyrics. Hahaha

Yeah, my head's in the gutter with this one too, especially when I think about that studio video when Rob Cavello says he can see lights shooting out of Billie's titties, and Billie replies "out of my dickhole more like." I think it's a straight-up song about wanting someone sexually so badly, but knowing it's wrong, and trying not to fall in love with the person. In the back seat, a pure sexual experience, "don't stop when the red lights flash." like he wants it in the back seat of a car in an alley, out of control, hard and fast and passionate, and he's keeping his heart in a noose so it doesn't fall, yet at the same time, he's trying to resist.

I think this is the beginning of the mid-life crisis he was talking about in the interview. The first temptation that spins life out of control towards the party in iDOS!

It's like... still only awkwardly available on iTunes. WTF is up with that? You can't click it, it's not available yet... but you can buy it...

I'm starting to wonder about the lyrics

"Far away, far away

Waste away tonight

I'm wearing my heart on a noose"

I'm not sure if this should be seen as something positive or something negative.

"Wearing the heart on a noose" could mean that is like a last resort, the last cry for help before letting go of the heart ( -> "Tonight my heart's on the loose")

On the other hand it could be a metaphor for taking a risk of getting hurt by opening oneself to love and what it might bring, i.e. happiness, joy, pain, hurt (->"Tonight my heart's on the loose").

Like to stop being afraid and start taking risks:

"Talk myself out of feeling

Talk my way out of control

Talk myself out of falling in love

Falling in love with you"

This ending really makes me think it's option 2.

Does anyone else have an opinion of this?

EDIT: Looks like someone thought of the lyric well :D

I really enjoy trying to make sense of songs, but sometimes it is very easy to start to over analyze too much.

I think the whole noose thing just represents the supreme risk of falling in love... you could get really, very hurt (to the extent that you want to kill yourself if it doesn't work out... or maybe if it does and you wind up hating your wife  ) but you're willing to take the risk anyway.

I'm pretty much convinced at this point that Oh Love's uber-meaning is a burning desire to staunch the flow of time so the narrator can live and love to the fullest in a way he hasn't been able to. You've heard of "wearing your heart on your sleeve"...this is a little different: a "noose" is harmless until something else comes along and pulls it. I'm seeing "heart" as metaphoric for dreams, loves, desires, "all the good moments" that you just want to savor forever. The thing that yanks the noose tight, killing all that? Time. "So, Time? Go away. Go far away and rot in fucking hell because I'm tired of you wasting away my dreams. Tonight, my "heart" -- again, my dreams, my loves, my longings -- is on the loose."

And to everyone else who's been making a ton of wonderful posts here both expressing like or dislike of the song -- I've run out of my rep quota for the day for the first time in, like, forever, so please don't take my sudden stoppage of rep awards as anything negative. I'm trying to clap loudly and my hands are now tied!! Thank you all for sharing!

AWESOME SONG! It's like a mix of F.O.D., Homecoming and See The Light.

Um, no. Not even close. But I love your passion!

Does anyone else think 'don't stop when the red lights flash' could mean basically no matter what happens, life needs to carry on

This is genius too. I love it. I relate to this one lol

After that analysis of "don't stop when the red lights flash," I can't stop thinking that this song is one big ode to the pleasures of roadhead.

I didn't have much hope in this song, and it's pretty awesome, so..

"Stay The Night" will shut up the critics :)

I was thinking it was more along the lines of regardless of what happens you should live your life how you want to and to not change for others. But thats just my 2 cents on all of this. :D

Without wishing to over-analyse the song, it's really bloody awful.

The lyrics are horrific. The verse sounds like a ripoff of Free's All Right Now. The solo is lame. The whole song needs tightening up from 5 mins to 3.

Has anyone in the NYC/NJ area heard it on the radio? I've been listening all day to pop/rock stations and nothing... :(

Also, for those who have heard it... what's the radio edit like?

It's good. I am glad they made it shorter for radio without taking away the power of the song.

I actually think it flows better with the shorter version, though it is probably still over 4 minutes

My iTunes isn't letting me download it D: I see it though! I think it's because I'm camping and I have shitty wifi

He's a genius when it comes to underlying meaning.

Dirty little bastard wraps it inside a kitschy poppy love song this time. He even had me scratching my head for awhile! Then "Nzap" (sorry I don't know your name!) came along and blew the lid off the joint for me. Now it's all

That's certainly there in the lyrics -- as we know, BJ can infuse a song with meaning on a whole bunch of different levels.

I think this is the beginning of the mid-life crisis he was talking about in the interview. The first temptation that spins life out of control towards the party in iDOS!

Exactly -- and that's where the "make time fucking STOP" theme fits in so perfectly. And I like that "temptation" gloss you're adding there!

I really enjoy trying to make sense of songs, but sometimes it is very easy to start to over analyze too much.

maybe it's both...the song in general is - at least for me - always switching between positive and negative, so maybe he even meant it in both ways...or in a completely different way that also refects sth positive and negative...

i'm trying to figure out what he exactly means in that songs for HOURS now  ..and first i thought the lyrics are a bit lame and totally easy, though also a lot of nonsense, but the longer i think about the lyrics, they seem to be not as easy as i thought and also start to make sense, though the more i understand about it, the more i realise what i also don't understand - which is quite a lot

...i tell you, this song is genious! (just like their cover artwork, it has to grow on most people first  )...or i'm just totally dumb and don't even get those completely easy lyrics

The lines "Oh love/Oh love/Won't you rain on me tonight" makes me think he's talking about an orgasm. "Oh ride/Free ride" = sex.

Yeah, I'm sick and twisted. Somebody please stop me.

Nothing will shut 'em up.

Not even another damn Grammy award.

Actually I was looking forward to Oh Love more than Stay The Night. :) While I bet Stay The Night will also be a cool song, I think that - judging by the trailer of uno especially - people are expecting something different, and Stay The Night seems like a pretty classic Green Day song.

Either way, I'm looking forward to hearing more!
