Alan86 Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I think the the message of the song can be summed with the lyrics "oh life Oh life Please don't pass me by" Well thats what seems like to me. Kind of a like we should live every moment of our lives and not let anything hold you back or put things off.
The Grohl Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 This really is a lot better than that shitty No Doubt single... Just saying BURN!
ash.loves.gd Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 When I found out Oh Love was the first single, I was a little disappointed. From the recording at Red 7 it didn't really sound like much, granted I only listened to it once and skipped it the rest of the time. I heard it this morning and my initial reaction was, "it's alright". Then, I listened to it again and something clicked and now it's on repeat as I'm typing this. I'm just happy I don't have just the "Oh Love, Oh Love" lines stuck in my head once I found out it was the first single, now it's the whole song. What do the rest of y'all think? I think you pretty much nailed it. I could not even possibly add anything remotely analytic after that +1 rep to you
WhiteTim Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Could the stop when the red light flash be the first song on Dos? Since Oh Love is the last track on Uno and mentions the song?
Guest Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I actually love it! It's insanely catchy! I wasn't at home for 2pm, so I used my friend's iPhone in a coffee shop. People gave me funny looks for getting excited, oh well.
Sarcasm Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Your thinking that, at age 20, you have fully matured... is proof that you have not. Billie is 40, not 20.
green day is Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 lol people complaining about autotune! i bet every artist use it. yall didnt even know what autotune was since kesha You obviously don't know what autotune is either, considering you're comparing what Ke$ha does with it to how it is in this song.
Hermione Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Just wondering why he sings "Dont stop when the red light flashes" haha, why not? Cant stop hearing it! Haha I love that! Little shout-out to another song
perfectpitchrob Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Could the stop when the red light flash be the first song on Dos? Since Oh Love is the last track on Uno and mentions the song? According to one of those recent interviews, "Lady Cobra" is the Dos! opener, although having "Stop when..." as the opening track would make for some clever continuity.
Bastard of 1967 Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 For what it's worth, I just listened to the new No Doubt single. I think Green Day fans got the MUCH better end of today's deal. I've really enjoyed No Doubt's stuff in the past, but their new single is one *serious* WTF. I shut it off after about 2-1/2 minutes.
Guest Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I shed tears of joy. After almost 19 years this band still overwhelms me with happiness.
kellista Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 My radio is using a GD ad too! Tre says " Were Green Day and we've got a new single for you called Oh Love" the Mike says "World Premiere". Then radio dude says they'll play it at the beginning of every hour!
SynthwaveTrooper Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 nope. i was expecting a little more up beat.
Soo Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Got home from work and listened to it straight away. On the first listen, I was slightly underwhelmed to be honest. Have just listened to it again and I am really liking it more already. I like the beginning, before the vocals come in, I actually like the way BJ's voice sounds and the guitar solo is pretty nice too. I know there were several songs on 21CB that I didn't really like at first but after seeing them live, that changed. Possibly people that aren't too keen on it just now will change their minds once they have heard the song in a different context. Overall, I'm just happy to have a new GD song to listen to. Going to listen to it through my headphones now.......
Sixtrix Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 It was om the radio again a few minutes ago and they let the Dutch listeners vote for the song by asking what mark they would give it out if 10. The average was an 8, which is pretty good. But most voters gave it a 7 while they were not fully satisfied with the song. But because it is Green Day they gave a 7. Well, I think that is pretty damn good!
WalkingContradictionPL Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 17 pages? No, definetely too much to read. This song is awesome! I can hear in it both The Beatles and AC/Dc influances. However, I don't except that I'll hear it in the most popular radio station as they don't play rock. Only shitty pop which I can't stand.
Florence Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Oh love, oh love Won't you rain on me tonight Not really sure what he means, but apparently he wants to be wet I love that interpretation. haha
1039SweetChildren Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 It's on iTunes!! But I can't click it! If you click Buy Song directly from the search results, you can purchase the song! Just did!
Harinezumi Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Does anybody think that line is a The Who reference? Only love Can make it rain ... Love, reign o'er me. Love, reign o'er me, rain on me. *edit* Oh crap link. Goddamnit.
beejeezee Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I love that interpretation. Florence not everything has to be dirty
X-Saint Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I just bought it on itunes and I'm listening to it through headphones........EARGASM!
