Oh Love

Oh love

Won't you rain on me tonight

Oh life

Oh life

Please don't pass me by

Don't stop

Don't stop

Don't stop when the red lights flash

Oh ride

Free ride

Won't you take me close to you

Far away

far away

waste away tonight

I'm wearing my heard on a noose

Far away

far away

waste away tonight

tonight my heart's on the loose

Oh lights

and action

I just can't be satisfied

Oh losers

and choosers

Won't you please hold on my life

Oh hours

and hours

like the dog years of the day

Old story

Same old story

Won't you see the light of day

Far away

Far away

waste away tonight

I'm wearing my heart on a noose

Far away

Far away

Waste away tonight

tonight my heart's on the loose

Talk myself out of feeling

Talk my way out of control

Talk myself out of falling in love

Falling in love with you

Very mixed reaction to it everywhere. Comments on FB, youtube and GDA range from loving it to thinking its just very very average. My Favorite part is the damped guitar in the verses after the first chorus starting with "Oh lights

and action I just can't be satisfied"

I don't think it'll be my favorite song from iUNO! just because i Know Im going to like the faster songs better. And that Clip of "Kill the DJ" was really good.

I may need to listen to it more. There wasn't any part of the song that excited me, really.

I like the palm mutes in the beginning, but Billie's voice...sorry no. "AUE LIUH" If you're going to sing loud with no music in the background, please pronounce the word entirely.

I'm going to keep listening to it. It will grow on me eventually.

But I can say, that my first reaction was not excitement.

It's a good song. Not blown away by it, but loving the personal lyrics over the political. I'm sure there's much better songs on the album, seeing as the lead singles from their last 2 albums were far from the best they had to offer.

The radio station I listen to played it at the exact time it went online. OMG The radio host talked about GD & the trilogy and even knew why the album "Tre!" is called "Tre" :woot: And they said there's an exclusive interview with GD tomorrow morning. I'll be recording it!!! HELL YEAH. OMG

Please do :)

Billie's vocals... that guitar solo... hearing every drum beat....

All I have to say is ROB CAVALLO'S BACK BITCHES. Thanks for not being Butch Vig, you beautiful, beautiful hunk of a producer!

What are the chances Billie ever actually plays that solo himself live and not Jason

Green Day in full power-ballad mode, and it... doesn't entirely work.

Positives:

- The whole chorus into solo section is great, and the one section where the song comes alive.

- It's a fresh sound they haven't tried before, and certainly nothing that would have been on either of the last two albums.

Negatives:

- Almost completely nonsensical lyrics

- The verses seem to have lead boots on. No energy whatsoever.

- Holy autotune, Batman. 2m 57 in particular.

- The official lyrics video is appalling, even as a placeholder. Not only does it draw attention to those lyrics, but it has all the design nuance of a 5 year old who ate his crayons.

I dunno, it grows on you after repeated play, but this doesn't feel like it's going to make as big an impact in the charts as Warner are hoping. It doesn't have the energy and impact of their faster stuff, nor the sentiment of their slower songs like 21 Guns. It feels like an anthemic album closer, but it's exactly that: an album track. Whichever way I look at it, this feels like a misstep :S

I agree with you here.

The verses are bad and the lyrics in them are even worse; no rhymes and very (for a lack of a better word) unattractive words meshed up into something that is on the brink of disaster.

Thankfully the chorus and the solo part are really really good and takes this up to the good level of their songs, but I was expecting a little more.

I agree about the voice part- the AUH LIUH bit really irritated me. But I still love the song and the general melody.

I can't describe the emotions I felt when I was listening to the song.

I had a big grin on my face and got goose bumps. After listening to it for at least 10 times I think it's an awesome and very catchy song!

I'd say he would. It's kind of his signature 'live' solo.

To be honest that was the only part of the song that got me excited. In general it was pretty anti-climatic for me, sadly.

I love it! The guitar in the chorus is a little weak, though

and btw:

"Oh Love" is the first to single to be taken from Green Day's forthcoming '¡Uno!' album, the first of their '¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡Tré!' album trilogy. While the album does not come out until late September, an exclusive EP to be released on August 14, 2012 will feature the single along with a number of other tracks that have yet to be announced.

its so overproduced. his voice just sounds unatural. live it was an ok song. this is just autotune pop/worst of 80s glamrock. and the lyrics?! pretty random.

That's the stupidest thing I've read today.

Yeah... the lyrics aren't the best ever, but there are some parts that do get me "Old story, same old story"... none of it makes any sense, but it still touches me

The first time I listened to it and he said "losers and choosers" I definitely thought he said "losers and Jesus"

People picking this song apart - take it for what it is; a nice warm up single to fill in the gaps before the album. It's not time for a massive belting song yet, it's too soon. There will be another bigger song before the album comes out. It's so chilled, perfect summer song. And the production is incredible

amazon already has all three of them

Yeah but don't greenday.com offer their own preorders with extras and stuff? that's what i want to know about

Very classic rock, loved it!

Expected the reaction, it's a weird first single. It's not gonna set the charts on fire and it's not going to please the "haters". Meh, i'm just glad to have new music!
