beejeezee Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I'm not the only one who misses the "Don't stop under my touch" line from the live version am I?
WhatserKinx Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Well then. 25 it is. I liked 50 better. If I'm not at 100 by the end of the night I don't think I can call myself a Green Day fan anymore
fiercecircus Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Negatives: - Holy autotune, Batman. 2m 57 in particular. Really? I didn't hear it but i only heard the song once so far, in the car. Personally i am excited. It sounded like such a simple song on the Red 7 recordings. I was wondering how they were going to build something out of it and make it single-worthy. But, they did it. I think it's solid as hell.
Vespertine Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 It's the kinda song that grows on you overtime. I heard it one time and loved it though. <3
worldowesme Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Listened to 1000 Hours and Oh Love one after the other. Trippy.
basketcase85 Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I liked it, it's not one of their best but it's definately better than and different to all the crap on the radio at the moment, it'll stand out. Can't wait for the video, want to see how lion costume guy fits into a video for a slower song like this. Maybe they were filming more than one?
Clayish Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 First time Green Day's actual material has disappointed me. This song is one word. Meh. inb4 hate from andres/matt.
beejeezee Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 If I'm not at 100 by the end of the night I don't think I can call myself a Green Day fan anymore well if 2 hours equeals 25 then 4 hours will get ya there.
Sarcasm Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 If I'm not at 100 by the end of the night I don't think I can call myself a Green Day fan anymore Fan card. REVOKED.
StuckWithRob Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 It really has the feel of the second half of Before the Lobotomy to me, particularly the 'tell me the story of your life' bit, like you can't wait to hear what's coming next... so could be a good last song on Uno. Billie's 'yeah' after the first chorus It sounds like The Who or Queen to me, which is good, but not like a Green Day song (I suppose it always was going to be a bit poppy). But can't wait for the new albums!
Sarcasm Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 First time Green Day's actual material has disappointed me. This song is one word. Meh. inb4 hate from andres/matt. Andres doesn't hate, he get's creepy quiet.
Ritz Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 The video is cool. I wish I had brought my 3D glasses xD
Hermione Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I love it . Billie's voice sounds GORGEOUS . The guitar solo is awesome. I love how it all sounds so clear, like you can really hear all the different parts of the music/instruments/vocals. And I love how the song builds up slowly from the beginning. Can't WAIT to see the video and hear the rest of the album.
beejeezee Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 The video is cool. I wish I had brought my 3D glasses xD I have a nice pair in my deks. I should go find them.
Sweet Armataged Chump Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 The video is cool. I wish I had brought my 3D glasses xD not much of a difference.
Amanda Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Andres doesn't hate, he get's creepy quiet. He's too busy wanking to the sound of Billie Joe's voice to care right now.
Mandy_PunkRock Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I really love Oh Love! , I think its a an experimental song, it sounds different, and I like that. One of the many reasons why I love Green Day is because of that, they are a very creative and experimental band, they can make a classic rock song, a punk song or whatever... but their songs always have that Green Day "essence". They are unmistakable and awesome musicians. This guys never disappoint me. The song is very catchy and melodic, I have the whole song stuck on my head, and that's a plus for them. They always know how to make a song catchy, they know how to create music. I must say that I love Billie's voice on this single, is very mellodious and I like his falsetto. The composition of the whole song seems to me great, I really like that classic rock sound, and how the song every time it fills with more guitars and sounds. About the solo, it was one of the best Green Day solos that I have heard in my opinion. I really like that small part "blues/rock & roll" of the solo, it kinda remind me of his guitar solos in 1039/smoothed our slappy hours era. In summary, its a perfect song for my taste. I'm sure that their trilogy would be epic. I'm really happy!
Cre Tool. Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 AMAZING. JUST AMAZING. I mean Green Day has crossed all limits of being awesome. WHY IS SEPTEMBER 25 SO FAR AWAY?
AfterShock Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 he neever pronounce his words properly. I just cant at people complaining about billie singing. Come on! listen to the early albums of green day hahahahahh It's not the fact that he's not fully pronouncing them, that's fine. It's just the fact that his voice is so isolated while doing it - I know these aren't perfect comparisons but the first verses of Good Riddance and 21 Guns it's just Billie and a guitar and he's pronouncing his words a lot better then he does here. I don't know it just kind of bugs me when his voice is like that without a full band
bringonjennifury Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 My heart is literally pounding and I feel like I have suddenly come back to life. THAT WAS AMAZING! Totally new and unique and full of energy! I have only listened to it once so far and it is already running through my head. Ok, must go listen again!
Heather. Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I honestly think this is the best vocals we've ever heard... just so clear and crisp. And I agree that his vocals have matured.... the fundamentals haven't changed, but Broadway DID do SOMETHING to him, and I'm so excited to hear the rest of the album... Oh Love is incredible, and the best is yet to come!
Sarcasm Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 He's too busy wanking to the sound of Billie Joe's voice to care right now. I'm doing it with him. It's a jack-off.
Ritz Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I don't understand the auto tune thingy. What is that? I'm not much of a technical person, so yeah.
Florence Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Did you notice the sexy Yeahhhh in the background of the song at 1:23 -1:24? I love it!
