gmcloughlin Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 I wonder when they'll announce tour dates! Didn't that Billboard article say they would coincide with the trilogy preorders or something along those lines? If so, we'll possibly have dates next week!
Mar Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I wouldn't worry. I don't think GD ever skips Detroit on their tour. And during November-January, Michigan is not that bad with winter weather. It doesn't legit snow dump until February anyway Except this year when the only fucking day it snowed more than a dusting this winter was Jan. 20, the night my friends and I were going up there to American Idiot bastards! But no, you're absolutely right, that's why I'm not too concerned about the weather. I see Detroit being safe, like you said. But I'd really love if they went to Cleveland or Columbus, too, because I wouldn't mind going to more than one date.
Nmd Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I think I was colder standing around for 2 hours outside the St James waiting for Billie back in January last year, than I was sleeping outside Wembley stadium for the entire night! I know what you mean, that cold was ridiculous waiting outside for Billie. I was shaking the whole time and the wind blew my hat away, but still worth it!! I worry I'll actually be physically sick to my stomach with nerves in the .2 seconds between me reading "tour dates have been announced" and me actually looking at the dates to see if they're playing near me, I'm that nervous about them avoiding my area or playing on a bad day. My life. My stomach always does nervous flips when I'm waiting to buy tickets to shows. Streeesssssss.
Undómiel Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Why is there a u in "rumor" in the subject line? This is an American tour we're talking about. Because we don't know when it is. Actually, blame Bryony and her British-ness. True.
Four. Posted July 19, 2012 Author Posted July 19, 2012 True. I approve of the U though! That's how it's supposed to be written. Also, on a more related note, I hope the IC has pre-sale like the last tour.

My life. This. I hope they play somewhere close to me that isn't DC. Virginia Beach preferably. I love the winter, cause at least you can bundle up. In the summer there's only so much clothing you can remove until you get arrested. And plus, at the last summer show I was at, the guys next to me were all sweaty and had terrible B.O. It was so hot for that show, Billie even tweeted about it after.

Yeah, I hope it means the venues will be less awful. Because I'm honestly scared I'll faint from heat in general admission this fatty doesn't do well in heat!

And plus, at the last summer show I was at, the guys next to me were all sweaty and had terrible B.O. It was so hot for that show, Billie even tweeted about it after. I think I was at the same show as you! That day was awful. I was waiting online from 7 a.m. until doors at 6 p.m. in 95º heat and I got sunburnt as hell. By the time doors opened I was dehydrated despite drinking water all day and I was ready to pass out.
AndrewW91 Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Lollapalooza was so hot that I almost died. It was 'ho' as hell... legit. So I can dig some winter shows.

You were at Bristow, VA? Cool. ....yeah, the heat was fucking brutal. Except I was so excited during the concert I didn't mind it as much as I normally would.
Bastard of 1967 Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 A-fucking-men. You guys don't want to see me in the tank top and shorts this heat is forcing me to wear right now because my house won't cool down. Y'all oughta come down here to Texas where it's cooler, less humid, and we've had rain in at least some places. Then get the hell outta here before it starts hailing again next spring.
Schlappy Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Are they going to play songs from Tre even though its not out yet? thats what i'm wondering...
The Snark Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Lollapalooza was definitely hellish. I'm just thankful that they allow you to bring two liters of water with you. I really hope the venues have seating, though, because I can no longer stand being in the pit.
Heather. Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Are they going to play songs from Tre even though its not out yet? thats what i'm wondering... Yeah, was wondering this too. As awesome as it would be to see them before the end of the year, I'd be kind of jealous of those in Europe who get to see them after Tre comes out. Because either way you miss out---if they don't play Tre songs, you lose, and if they play Tre songs, you don't get to go already knowing them and ready to sing-along. Even if they play the same amount of Tre songs in America as they will in 2013, we wouldn't KNOW them, and that's half the fun. It's possible they'll have released a few Tre song singles/previews by the time they're on tour.
DoodleBob Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Just reading that freaked me out. I'm really hoping Florida will get three dates again, but they might get rid of one or two... Same here. I know for a fact they are going to do at least two, though. You can't have just one date in Florida, it's too big. Even just two dates is cutting it super close.
The Grohl Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 There goes all my money...because this year I'm seeing Green Day no matter what!
Mar Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 I don't think they've played anywhere in Indiana since 2005 or before so I'm just gonna keep hoping for a Nashville date, hopefully I'm not disappointed, Nashville is the best place to go to concerts! I certainly wouldn't mind an Indianapolis show (or, depending on how small market the tour is, Fort Wayne) ... if tickets aren't too expensive I may be able to convince my parents to drive me there for a second show!

I wish they'd play an Indianapolis show. Heck, I'd even take Cincinnati or Columbus (or Dayton). I don't think Fort Wayne seems very likely, though. Has Fort Wayne ever had anyone play there?
whitechristmas Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 HOWEVER my city did just get a new arena where I saw Elton John a few months ago, if it's big enough for him to play there I feel like it should be big enough for GD to play there too haha So did my town. My dad's friends with the owner, and he said they're trying to get Green Day to come in January! Wiz Khalifa came here last fall, so I bet we might have a chance of Green Day coming here.
valeriesername Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Meh. Not a lot of big bands came to South Texas a lot. Korn came, and Coheed and Cambria are coming. And I think Evanescence is coming, or already came. Oh, and Elton John came here, too. But it kinda sucks down here, because the only popular music is dance and pop and stuff like that. Their's hardly any venues either. Not even one record store. So I highly doubt Green Day's gonna come. The closest they've come is to San Antonio, so if they plan on going there again, I'm ready for my first Green Day concert!
eastbayweirdo Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Green Day always come to Dallas and Houston. I'm hoping they tour in San Antonio too and I'll go to all three.
fatherotti Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Well my hope for the bay area run is that they add a 3rd show. Normally the bay gets 2 in 1 leg, they could squeeze in one more I'm sure.
Mar Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 HOWEVER my city did just get a new arena where I saw Elton John a few months ago, if it's big enough for him to play there I feel like it should be big enough for GD to play there too haha How odd, my city built a new arena in 2009 and he played there, too! In fact, an early 2010 article about the venue in the newspaper said they were courting Green Day (but then they went and did the outdoor venue tour that I couldn't go to) ... so, maybe it's not too out of the realm of possibility? I mean, I highly doubt it; it would probably be a second leg stop if at all, not November-January. But, you never know!
Four. Posted July 22, 2012 Author Posted July 22, 2012 We don't have any new arenas, but bands normally always come here because we're known for being awesome fans who will love bands unconditionally. I hope they include Canada in this tour.
