Mar Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Fixed it for you Lovely song! Or poem, or whatever. I know, I know, but it doesn't flow with the rhyme of the song! I love me some Call Me Maybe puns
No Rhyme Or Reason Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 I know, I know, but it doesn't flow with the rhyme of the song! I love me some Call Me Maybe puns It still rhymes and has the same number of syllables. It works!
Ratchet Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 "It's not going to be the sitting down, head shot of me going, 'We started out blah blah blah.' " Am I the only one who find this ironic that Billie Joe's done this already in Bullet in a Bible? XD Sorry if this has been said before... Anyway I'm really excited about this and can't wait to get it
gdpony Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 This is too much! The guys are gonna be everywhere! I can't fucking wait! 2012 and 2013 will be amazing
Clayish Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Sam Bayer's work with GD was fantastic too besides Wake Me Up. Extremely excited for this
Katarina. Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Wow. Sure, three albums is already really awesome (understatement, can't find other words atm). And now we know there will be two documentaries as well? BRILLIANT! This is so exciting. I think it's time to not think about "HLAHG" anymore. I'm really looking forward to getting these two new documentaries instead! Both sound interesting, and I didn't expect one to be about pre-Dookie at all. Again, this is just great. I can feel this Green Day era is gonna be fantastic. Also: "'We started out blah blah blah'," Armstrong says." Funny he said it like that, and not "We started out you know you know you know" That just crossed my mind. Looking forward to seeing Sam Bayer back on board for music videos as well. Now where is my Green Day fund? *looks in sock drawer*
Bastard of 1967 Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Also: "'We started out blah blah blah'," Armstrong says." Funny he said it like that, and not "We started out you know you know you know" That just crossed my mind. Honestly I think it all comes down to that run he had on Broadway and the public exposure that came along with it. Billie seems a lot more comfortable, less awkward and self-conscious, in his own skin now than he used to be. You can see it in his face in the photo from yesterday's interviews that was posted recently....so I suspect it'll show in a lot of the press he's doing for the trilogy releases.
Hermione Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Bayer's music videos are very literal and often over the top. I just can't imagine how that, erm... "artistic vision" will mesh with the simplicity of a pre-dookie documentary, or the whimsy of the trilogy. This. Maybe he's doing some "epic" videos for "epic" Tre. Or maybe he's more versatile than we think. I dunno, just have to wait and see I suppose.
DannyDirnt Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 We're batshit crazy This made my day, I had never heard this expression hahaha I know this is a supremely dumb question, but do you think the pre-Dookie documentary will be in HD? Because back then I don't know if you could get a video with better quality than the ones already in YouTube, I hadn't been born. Maybe the documentary has a poor quality? But the thing I love the most is that the pre-Dookie documentary will make 1039 and Kerplunk songs more popular

I keep imagining those youtube videos with horrible quality. But I think that this documentary will be much better quality. I think they have ways of making the footage look better and stuff, so since it's professionally done, it should be professional quality. But maybe not HD, since we are talking about the late 80s/early 90s. I love that last thing you said though, Danny. I hope people get more into their pre-Dookie music!

I hope so, because no doubt it's just amazing. People just keep dissing it because it's old.

Alan86 Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 There was a Nirvana Concert from 1991 released on DVD/Blu-ray last year so it is possible to have old footage that is HD. However Nirvana were pretty big at the time so I'd imagine the cameras used to film that concert were better than anything Green Day would have had at the time of pre-Dookie concerts.
WhiteTim Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Yeah Alan Nirvana's Paramount show was professionally filmed paid by the record label shot on film cause it was originally was going to be released in theaters
Karol Oliveira Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 I hope to see on the pre-Dookie not only gigs footage, but also something from behind the scenes... off of the stage, I mean.
Schlappy Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 they really have that much pre-dookie footage just hidden away somewhere to make a full documentary? its probably going to be shows mostly id assume, unless they were confident enough to think hey lets video me eating ramen for future generations when we're huge. heh, i wouldnt put it past them... arrogant little punks
The Grohl Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 I wonder if these documentaries will be broadcasted on TV or if we have to spend more money! I'm already broke!
GuitarPunk94 Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 will they also film the festivals and concerts in europe this late august/early september and use this show footages for the dvd as well?
