WestboundSign! Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 This is gonna be so, so awesome! I literally can't get all this into my head.. there's so much happening in the Green Day world in the next years!
ThibautDookie Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Really excited for the second dvd, i hope that there will be some rare footage from the band, some rare interviews, and of course i hope that there will be some making of of the videos of Basket Case, When i Come Around and Longview !!!!!!!
Karol Oliveira Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 I was sure they would release one documentary, but TWO... IT'S FUCKING AWESOME!!!! Also, the fact that "It's not going to be the sitting down, head shot of me going 'we started out blah blah blah,'" is also great! The 'interview' format is so overused and is cool to see that they're trying to innovate not only their music with the trilogy but also with the documentaries! Now I hope they make an announcement of a special bundle with the 3 albuns + the trilogy documentary. Plus, we're having a Pre-Dookie documentary!! I think that now it's going to be difficult the announcement of the release of HLAHG. They're already releasing two movies in 2013, why another one in 2014 (as it was said). Although, you never know with Green Day. I don't like Sam Bayer and I don't like most of his videos, besides American Idiot and Holiday, but I really like what he did with "Bullet in a Bible". So, his involvement with the documentary(ies) might not be so bad.

Bastard of 1967 Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Green Day is also reuniting with director Sam Bayer who shot several of the band's videos, among them "Jesus of Suburbia." OMG the fucking American Idiot Dream Team *is* back in the house! for me its more like GD is on the top of their creative progress..they must be rly sure that the 36 songs are epic and they take a high risk with releasing a trilogy in such a short time + the TWO documentaries now. Didn't you know it's the end game in their incredibly well-orchestrated plan to make it into the Rock hall of fame on the very first ballot?
WorryRock02 Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 fucking amazing! Two documentaries?? ans Sam is back???!!!! so wanderful day
DannyDirnt Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 The band has already issued a couple of trailers for the albums that feature instrumental versions of two of the albums' tracks. Would it be overanalising if I get from this that one of the tracks got scrapped? Also, that of the band being shot performing in clubs in the pre-Dookie one too... does it mean that we'll finally get official good quality recordings from 1989-1993? I'm begging for I Was There! I was thinking: They make a pre-Dookie documentary that contains performances. Therefore, more people gets to know their old stuff. So, that along with them going back to old style can only mean we'll get more 1039-Kerplunk stuff in concerts!!
Raven93 Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 How can people say Sam Bayer did terrible in making Green Day music videos ? Go and look at the AI era videos again and you will see the hard work he did on making the effects ... Etc.. Etc. Same as bullet in a bible - worked his ass off getting/picking the right shots to make it more dynamic Speaking of bullet in a bible - After the 3 albums and 2 documentaries we will all be DEMANDING that the release a live album in the future because that's what we are like But we have 2 documentaries coming out later ....... We can take that one and call it a win
DoodleBob Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Ermm... He also did Boulevard of Broken Dreams... And Holiday... And Wake Me Up When September Ends... And Jesus Of Suburbia... And Welcome To The Black Parade by MCR... And Famous Last Words... ... ... He is awesomely amazing... How can you say you didn't like his videos... This. I love Sam Bayer's work. And how can you not like the JOS video? And Welcome To the Black Parade is so kick ass. One of my favorite videos ever.
whatsthisshitfor Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 If this turns out like heart like a hand grenade, I may flip someone's titties. But, It probably won't be like it. This is just getting too good.
bollard_11 Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Sam Bayer, what we can see from the making of videos is that he is a complete ass. But god dammit he is an awesome director that always does a great job so I have every hope for this.

Alan86 Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 I also dont like some of Sam Bayers work. The Videos where Sam brought in actors and added dialogue really do suck. That is WMUWSE and JOS, but its just the acting parts. WMUWSE is the worst for this, however I think the edited version of that video which cuts out the rubbish acting sequences is actually really good. As For AI BOBD and Holiday, I have no problems with those He also made my Favorite Music Video ever. Smells Like Teen Spirit
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Cool! I quite like the look of all the trailers, I'm excited to see the documentaries
WestboundSign! Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Cool! I quite like the look of all the trailers, I'm excited to see the documentaries Totally agree. The trailers have been great. If they keep that style, these documentaries are destined for being awesome. In general.. there are three albums and two documentaries to be released by Green Day in the next year or two. That's so much - and unbelievably amazing. I've never heard about a band releasing this much in such a short period of time!

Tubbie Head Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Ohhhh MY 3 albums plus 2 documentaries? And then there's the AI movie too! HURRAAYYY
ModernDuke Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Tim Wheeler! Based on the fantastic White Stripes documentary he did, these Green Day ones are going to be great.
WestboundSign! Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Me neither. Green Day will make me poor in the next few months! Haha totally. But it's so, so worth it!
alienlifeform Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Ermm... He also did Boulevard of Broken Dreams... And Holiday... And Wake Me Up When September Ends... And Jesus Of Suburbia... And Welcome To The Black Parade by MCR... And Famous Last Words... ... ... He is awesomely amazing... How can you say you didn't like his videos... well i really don't like at all... and green day has a lot of good music videos, but in my oppinion, none of them was mede by sam bayer... and Bullet in a bible sucks either

Smells Like Teen Spirit Which if Kurt didnt do a last minute edit would've been fucked off but seeing Sams edit was so fucking unwatchable fuck him he also destroyed Nightmare On Elm Street....
Cris. Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 I don't like Sam Bayer. I hate what he did to the videos of Wake Me Up When September Ends and and Jesus of Suburbia... and also BIAB (seriously, why did he even have to actually be on the video?). So I'm a little concerned about what he could make of these documentaries... But still, even getting something that could be ruined (at least for me) because of Sam Bayer should be a lot more interesting and entertaining than getting nothing.
solongfromthestars Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Without the acting WMUWSE was actually pretty good, but yeah, I hated JOS. The other stuff he's done is okay though. Well whatever, this is still really exciting!
