QueenOfSuburbia Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Why not? That would be so awesome. Keep wanting more and more new Green Day stuff! Can't help it hehe
GDInsaniac Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 I think there has to be a ton of footage, and there is enough for a documentary, but I think they won't release anything. It will probably be like HLAHG and be like an indie thing that won't be released to the public.
beejeezee Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 I think they might, maybe as a bonus dvd with a three-cd box set after Tre is released.
netty Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Greg Schneider is the one doing all the videoing. I`ve not been told that they intend to release a documentary but it must be a possibility. I can`t see them having all this filming done it they don`t plan on using it for anything more than the teasers.
1039SweetChildren Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 I really think we'll be getting webisodes from now till the release dates with a bunch of the footage... and I'd imagine a DVD with a doc would come with a box set of all the albums at some point in the future. Just my guess.
Sarcasm Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 If there is gonna be anything, it's probably gonna be a semi documentary/concert DVD/blue-ray, and since that came out 2 years after AI, the logical time for it to be released is well.. 2014/15

schesney Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 what if they split up the video into three parts (even if the songs were recorded in different orders to the track listing on the albums) and make a deluxe version of each cd release
Hermione Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 I get the impression that they like to film a LOT of stuff (Green Day shows, Foxboro shows, in the studio etc) not necessarily intending to release it but just to have the footage in case they ever wanna use it or even just for their own amusement. So I reckon they'd probably be filming while making the album whether a documentary was planned or not. However since in this case we've heard that they might be planning a documentary and we know they have loads of good quality footage I guess there must be a pretty good chance that there'll be one.
Harry Potter. Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 So I'm sure we'll get it this time and also I hope it's sold with Tre Wow, good point! It would be cool if they would have like a deluxe edition (or if I was in the company releasing the album I would call it Tre 'Cool Edition') and have it with the documentary. But not to be jerks, they should release the documentary seperately, too.
GuitarPunk94 Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 if they release a documentary, when would they release the dvd? normally a band makes 1 album and then maybe 1 dvd about the album..but if gd release a dvd with uno, its kinda weird coz dos and tré wont be released by then..and if they release the dvd with tré it would be also weird coz the first part of the trilogy will be released 4 months ago then
Jaymee!! Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 The funny thing about the videos is that they started being released literally a day or two after I'd spent a week re-watching Aerosmith's making of Pump documentary over and over. I had pined to Aska about how amazing it would be for Green Day to do the same thing...and voila! I do think it's a very real possibility that the footage is going to be used for a full-length documentary.
schesney Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 but about the deluxe edition thing, that is the reason that i am sometimes hesitant with preordering albums
Psycho Britney Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 It would be amazing if they did this. However I'm not convinced they will. Like Hermoine or someone said GD generally seem to record these things for personal use. It was just frickin cool that released those teasers!
Danish Idiot Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 A documentary would be amazing, or maybe if they released a special edition of the albums, with "behind the scenes" footage. That would awesome.
bollard_11 Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 I believe the footage is too professional and too well done to be hidden from public viewing. Judging by the teasers I believe a making of the trilogy is coming. However I would not expect it to surface until after Tre's release. I would imagine a single DVD release separate from the albums or a deluxe edition containing everything. Plus Mike did say in an interview last year about there being filming done for a potential documentary/making of album featurette
July21 Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 i don't know, but i think it'll be released after the world tour

The Grohl Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 A green day documentary would be awesome, especially if it's about the making of the trilogy. I think it would be interesting.
