The song in this trailer didn't get me as excited as the songs in the other trailers. The ones that were in the Uno and Dos trailers sounded very different from what Green Day have done whereas this song sounded just like any other Green Day song.

Why are there people being confused by an Italian flag when the flag of Lebanon is in the same shot?

I thought that is more confusing than an Italian flag

To me, this is the best. And the song... well I love it yet! :D Now let's wait things to become true

What else would that be??

Do you even know what pop boyband is and how much blink have made fun of them?

Anyway I really like the music. It's something like Green Day would do not something completely new like the other two.And I don't think there is such thing as favorite instrument as many people have discussed in the trilogy thread it's all about how all instruments sound good together not individually but I really really like drum fills so this is my favorite clip so far.

I don't know why how much they make fun of them no, but i call people twats, cunts, assholes when i am one my self. And no their not technically a pop boy band, my main point was their not Punk! I would possibly say their Pop Rock.

I love this. It sounds like classic Green Day. Gahh I don't know which one I'm more excited about now...

That's exactly why I like this song so much. Don't get me wrong, I love how different the other trailers sound, but I always expect Green Day to have songs that sound like classic Green Day, and this one is exactly that.

I'll have to hold judgment til we hear how the vocal track (and perhaps a final mix if what they've teased us with isn't a slice of the actual finished product) turns out, but as compared to 21stCB and even American Idiot, this has a MUCH crisper, cleaner sound. It's not overcompressed, it's not overmixed -- it's a very lean, clean, pure sound that hasn't been crammed into a tin can like so much of 21stCB was.

That being said, here's one thing I am hearing in this clip that might be what integrates the newer sound with the "old" Green Day..... Listen first at 14 seconds in and then again at 25 seconds for comparison. I think you're hearing the Gretsch at 14 seconds, but then at 25 I *think* you might be hearing one of Billie's Les Paul Jr's. 'Til now we've heard nothing but the new Gretsch in the teasers as far as I'm aware.

Anyway, if you still don't like it, listen to the clip again but this time with a good set of headphones on, and crank it. On my laptop's cheap, tinny-ass speakers I concede it seems plain (crisp, yes, but plain). Put the headphones or good earbuds in, though, and it's like you're going scuba diving in the music -- the whole damn thing lights up. Mike's bass line in particular just blows everything away. He takes that line all over the place, weaving it in and out of the lead guitar as if his bass were French-kissing Billie's and (presumably) Jason's guitar parts. And Tre's percussion has a PUNCH PUNCH to it that we haven't heard this clearly in AGES. Even with YouTube's crappy compression, if you give it a good listen you can hear that there's all sorts of stuff going on in this music that we've never heard from Green Day before.

I think that's one key takeaway from all of these trailers -- with 3 albums and 36 solid tracks, there's going to be something in this for just about ANY musical taste. :) The stuff you like, you're gonna love, and the stuff you don't like is still going to be quality material that's worth the space they're giving it in the set.

That's exactly how I think. I fully trust Rob when he says there is not a single song on the trilogy that would be considered a filler.

Of course it is impossible that we all will find each song extremely awesome, but there's no way that someone with common sense for quality music will find even one song to be bad or uninteresting.

Though I do notice that the guitar sound in the Tre trailer is kind of more comparable with Warning, but a little bit more 'alive' and present. It's so fucking awesome.

Um, just a random question. But why is there a tree man jumping out of a bush? And who is said tree man?

Oh yeah...awesome trailer too.

Tree man is Tre :P

Yay so much wonderfulness . Especially the surfing, skateboarding, and tree monster

Can't really judge the music when it's just a small clip and just an instrumental, but I like the hint of classic Green Day sound in there. Elements of that sound are present on all their albums so I'd expect nothing less than to hear it on these ones too. But since this is the "epic" album that small clip could really turn into anything in the full song. There might be a lot more to it.

I found this the best trailer! It was the funniest and I actually like the song in this one the best!

I can't wait! and lol at the tree man

He's alive?! :woot:

Oops, shouldn't have said anything! Pretend you never read that! :P

Anyone else think that there has to be some kind of documentary coming out at some point? They wouldn't film all this footage just because of these 30 second clips. I don't know is this discussed before in this or any other thread, but just saying. And that tree man clip is great!

Actually, I read somewhere that Billie Joe has Italian ancestry and Adrienne has Lebanese ancestry, so maybe that has something to do with it? I don't know. :ermm:

Anyways, awesome trailer. I love how the song in the trailer seems like it's somehow a combination of all of their previous stuff mixed with a new sound altogether. :D

Really? I didn't know that.

So:

Italian flag = Billie

Lebanese flag = Adrienne

California = Pretty self-explanatory

Now we know everything. :D

Yeah, I wish I could remember where I read that, though. But yeah, makes perfect sense to me now! :D

Edit: I don't think this is where I read that about Adrienne originally, but here is her IMDb page that says that she is.

Oh, and here is a quote from Billie Joe's IMDb page about his ancestry:

His father was half English and half Italian. From his mother's side, he is of Irish, Dutch, Scottish, and Cherokee (Native American) descent.
