Annie, get your gun Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 iTunes has deals with labels/artists that guarantee "iTunes exclusive" bonus tracks for albums. So, at the very least, it's 100% positive we'll get at least one extra song from that, even if it ends up being a cover or a live track. I didn't know that... good to know, then I'd really love at least 2 b-sides. I don't care about covers, I want GD original stuff So until July 16 I'll be :lazy:
Red Lights Flash Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Question: Do we usually get official lyrics released with singles? I don't really know. Last time, they bought domain names such as www.eastjesusnowhere.com which shows the lyrics. However, I'm not sure if they released those with the first single or right before the album came out. We definitely had all the lyrics in advance though.

Yeah, last time we got all the lyrics in advance...I think because of the secret shows they were doing, as that was around the time they got posted. They may do that again this time, or they may not. I have noticed that a lot of bands have been putting out these "Official lyric videos" with their lead singles, so maybe Green Day will do something like that for "Oh, Love" and then we'll get the actual music vid a bit later. If neither of those things happen, though, then I imagine we're stuck waiting for the album liner notes.

Do me a favour and try knowyourenemy.com (don't you, kids)

They bought domains for all the tracks on the album, I believe they existed before the album came out. And yes Danny, they were dropped again pretty quickly (one year? two?) and one or some were apparently picked up for other uses
adrocker Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 1 week to go!!!!! Im really excited to hear what the songs will sound will sound like, ive been good and ignored all the videos/recordings. Been hard trust me!
Todd Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Really? Cool, I didn't know that. Do me a favour and try knowyourenemy.com (don't you, kids) Wow. Why? Why? Knowing your enemy has nothing to do with that? Why not a different domain name?
whitechristmas Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Really? Cool, I didn't know that. Do me a favour and try knowyourenemy.com (don't you, kids) I was not expecting that AT ALL. I tried ohlove.com out of curiosity and it looks like a Korean dating website of some sort.
RAGE Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 that awesome moment when the single ''Oh Love'' come 10 days after your birthday !!!!
Anja Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 I still dont get how a week before release there is no video, no lyrics, no artwork, no nothing.
Kaddi. Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 I still dont get how a week before release there is no video, no lyrics, no artwork, no nothing. I know, right? Isn't a new single usually on the radio a few weeks before it's officially released? At least the music video is out before the single as such. Or am I wrong?
Sixtrix Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Well they will be promoting a trilogy not just one album. God knows what the fuck is awaiting us
Sanity Loan Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 I know, right? Isn't a new single usually on the radio a few weeks before it's officially released? At least the music video is out before the single as such. Or am I wrong? Yes, you are wrong Now-a-days, the digital single (like on iTunes and Amazon) comes out the same day (or around the same day) as the radio's release. With music videos, it's a shot in the dark as to when those are released. Sometimes at the same time, or a couple weeks after.
Mary Daze Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Well they will be promoting a trilogy not just one album. God knows what the fuck is awaiting us True. I'm listening to radio all the time because I don't want to miss anything But, you know, it's Green Day. You really never know with these guys...
DannyDirnt Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 So we may not be getting the physical release on 16th? If so, maybe I should listen to the digital release on YouTube till I can get the physical thing.
Hellcat Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 I have noticed with a few bands of recent. The Gaslight Anthem for example, made their new single 45 available for streaming for a few weeks, then it was released on iTunes and the video soon followed. I take it with Green Day, they are going to wait until the release date to unveil it.
Mary Daze Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Question about singles is general: Are they released on the same day everywhere or is it the same like it is with albums (being released a little early in most countries in Europe) ? If so, then there could be a chance that you can download Oh Love a little earlier if you're using the German or UK iTunes store.^^
Kaddi. Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Yes, you are wrong Now-a-days, the digital single (like on iTunes and Amazon) comes out the same day (or around the same day) as the radio's release. With music videos, it's a shot in the dark as to when those are released. Sometimes at the same time, or a couple weeks after. Oh, my bad. I somehow thought that KYE was on the radio before the actual single was released, but I must have gotten confused there. Anyway, I still think it's weird that it's not even mentioned on Amazon, neither have I heard anything about a new GD single on the radio yet. Seems like they're going on with their really bad promotion.
WhiteTim Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Amazon doesnt normally have pre orders for digital singles... I doubt there'd be a physical copy of the singles with the shape of the industry they're trying to get rid of cd all together i wont be shocked if 2013i is the last year for them. The best buy near me has allready got rid of ALL their cds said more stores are going to be doing the same
RAGE Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 oh crap i forgot where can i hear the single?!?!?!? :runaround: :runaround: :pinch: :pinch:
RAGE Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 I still dont get how a week before release there is no video, no lyrics, no artwork, no nothing. actually there is an art work http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=420136048030130&set=o.250500578330737&type=1&theater
sampy Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Great artwork! According to the traffic lights on the cover, how about Stop When The Red Lights Flash as b-side? That pic really reminds me of that song title.
pucky Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Wow, if that is the artwork, it's awesome! But I think the official web of Green Day is being a bit delayed with this kind of information lately...
