WestboundSign! Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 For those who want to hear a better quality snippet of "Oh Love", check out this video from the Webster Hall secret show. It's still only a camera recording, but it sounds a lot better than the other recording from outside Red 7. Hopefully it gives you a better taste of the energy of the song without being ruined by all the chatter from the crowd. That actually was the video that made me fall in love with the song back when we first heard about it Only a bit less than two weeks - I seriously can't wait!
Guest Honey Emerald Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 I have not heard Carpe Diem but am looking forward to it. Oh Love reminds me of an older rock sound... like that of "I heard it through the Grapevine" lyrics by Marvin Gaye ... [media=] sounds like a great song as a birthday present ..yeah i seriously give that single to my mom as a birthday present!!...she already knows it, but doesn't know which song and she won't find out until she has the CD (her b-day is one day after the release of the single ;D)
Kristy_TheIdiot Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 It promises a single representative of album and very.. 'interesting'
Ritz Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Hard...to...resist.....must...resist! I resisted, I'm sure you can too
Sixtrix Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 I resisted, I'm sure you can too Luckily my connection sucks right now. I can view this forum on my phone but the connection is too weak to load the video snippet. First time that I appreciate a terrible Internet connection
basKT_case90 Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Hard...to...resist.....must...resist! I know I can't force you to listen to it, but trust me when i say it will be so worth it! I highly doubt hearing this short 17 second sample of the song will ruin your enjoyment of it when it finally comes out. More likely it will make you even more excited to hear it in full come two weeks time. Can you really wait that long? Really? REALLY REALLY?? Go on...listen...you know you want to...
TheJedi Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 how long after the single is released do we use to get a music video?

Haha, you are not helping at all man. Just when I got that little devil on my shoulder to finally keep its mouth shut, you triggered it again to start persuading me to listen to the snippet. You made me kill that little bastard dammit
Heather. Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 I totally forgot that the Webster video was the one where I heard Oh Love first... it got me way excited again, and sounds so much better than the Red7 recording.
WorryRock02 Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 how long after the single is released do we use to get a music video? i think just some week later
Soroush Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 I don't hanve access to youtube videos. plz sb tell what the song is like? Is it a ballad?
Heather. Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 I don't hanve access to youtube videos. plz sb tell what the song is like? Is it a ballad? Not quite.... more power-ballad than 21 Guns---with electric guitar, no piano, and a bit faster.
Mary711 Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 I'm kind of proud that I'm still strong enough to not give it a listen.
DannyDirnt Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 I still can resist quite well. I don't wanna ruin the surprise. I listened to Oh Love once I think, but I forgot its sound completely and I can't remember if I liked it. Seems like I'll be able to wait. I even stopped listening to Carpe Diem, Stray Heart and Fuck Time but it's kinda useless because I remember them perfectly.
WalkingContradictionPL Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 I couldn't resist. I listened to this song many times, so why not now, in better quality?
Mary711 Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 I couldn't resist. I listened to this song many times, so why not now, in better quality? You don't have to resist, it's just what I decided for me to not destroy the surprise when I'm listening to the single for the first time.
farley drexel hatcher Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 It's not gonna kill you to listen to the live versions, you know. It won't make you like the song any more or less in the long run. It's just giving you even higher expectations.
Florence Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 What's up with all those people not listening to the songs in advance? I mean FUCK IT! Some brave idiots recorded songs at the secret shows, risking to get kicked out. It wouldn't make sense NOT to listen to the songs. I listened to all songs in advance and have the crappy Red7 ones all on my iPod. I have no shame. I'm sure it won't destroy the surprise - all you heard was a certain melody, you couldn't understand the lyrics, because the quality wasn't that good. Now I'm excited about the "Oh Love" single and what they did with the song. And of course I'm excited about the Trilogy albums in general. and a huge THANK YOU to the people who recorded songs at the secret shows! btw

It's just giving you even higher expectations. That's true. But it's more the big impact of hearing a song for the very first time. I'm just very convinced that the quality of the live recordings does not do the songs full justice. You might hear the potential of the songs but the crap quality might take away some of the energy or "spirit" in a way. We, who prefer to wait til the albums are released, are just suckers for buying the album and lock ourselves up in our room, put the cd on and open the booklet and read through the lyrics while listening to the songs for the very first time. We rather harvest the strawberries when they are fully ripe, instead of halfway the process when they do not have the full sweetness yet. Call us pathetic, call us what you will

Sixtrix Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 But why did people talk while the other were recording new stuff? In the case of the Red7 recordings: It was recorded outside the venue. Most people were just hanging around and having a chit chat while someone made a recording of what could be heard outside.
