And what better way to do that than with some retina-searing colors and goofy faces? I can't put my finger on what it reminds me of, but it makes me happy and that's all that counts.

They are the same pieces of paper like in the trailer. These teasing bastards! :angry I'm wondering if all three album covers are going to have -the same green background, -if they are all green & pink, but with a different pattern in the background, -or if they all have different colors.

That's all that matters.

It's probably gonna be dirty and rough songs, at least that's what I'm hoping for, judging by the cover.
InsideOut Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Wasn't really sure what to think when I first saw the cover, but it's slowly growing on me. I can imagine people in the music store being drawn to this album simply because of how eye-catching and loud the cover is. Definitely looking forward to seeing how the music matches with the art.

It's not the worst, but it's really boring compared to some of the other albums. I'm still really iffy about it. To quote a friend of mine: yeah, i mean i couldve done that in paint As much as I like it, it really is pretty boring, especially if you're comparing it to something like Insomniac's cover.

My experience was similar to alot of the rest of you guys - first time i saw it i was quite shocked, and i didn't really think it looked like a proper album cover. Now that i've seen it a few more times and thought about it i'm really starting to dig the bright obnoxious colours and D.I.Y. feel about it. It's definetly different than anything GD has done before and it's definetly eye-catching!! (plus think of how cool it would be once all three are out to have a picture of each band member on each album! - if they decide to do that of course..)

Here is a comparison: The top one is American Idiot that I have skewed in Photoshop The one below is the Uno font unaltered I'm not complaining, I just wanted to point it out. It was the first thing I noticed when I saw the cover

I definitely prefer this approach where it's obviously meant to look like that, over Awesome as Fuck which kind of looked shitty and fan made but like it really wasn't meant to be that way.

It's like that magenta color you never want to use in an older version of Word. haha Exactly this I wish it was a different color but that's just my personal preference... Other than that the cover's really grown on me and I can't wait to see the other 2.

What I do love though, is that it looks very different from anything they've ever done or I would have expected them to do. At first I was really hoping they wouldn't be on the cover because all I could think about was the cover for warning and how meh it is. But this is so wild and crazy that I think it will really work, especially considering that it's going on the first part of a trilogy album, which is a wild idea in it's self for Green Day. This just makes me all the more excited for the covers of Dos and Tre!

I was making layouts for my site that looked almost identical to this back in the early 2000s, which can't be a good sign, haha. ... And why did they have to use the same bloody font as MCR's last album?

I like the concept, but I don't like the flashy pink, even if it reminds me Awesome as fuck. And there's no symbol like the yellow circle on nimrod. or the handgrenade on AI. It's simple. It's not my favorite, but I begin to like the cover after seeing it a few times. I can't wait to see covers of Dos and Tré!

It's nice that Green Day want to evolve or change a bit, but it's not my most favorite cover, but I still think that over all it's pretty cool I'm not really a big fan of the new Green Day logo...
