Prisca Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 what time did you guys get in line? I got in line like around 11 a.m., I think. Or 12. One of those times. We (my cousin and two other friends) were within the first 100 people in line, for sure. The people at the front, like the first few had been there since 8 a.m. though, if i remember correctly.
-Billiejoezee- Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 i got in line at 3 p.m and ended up being right in front....
foxboro1234 Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 hahah wowDon't you guys think that if it was in a few days at nokia it would have leaked?
Prisca Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 hahah wow Don't you guys think that if it was in a few days at nokia it would have leaked? i have no idea what to think anymore! i just want BJ to tweet something again! i'm starting to get stressed/nervous  damn my responsibilities!
-Billiejoezee- Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 i just checked the calender and i don't think there's anything booked for friday/saturday. I mean, is there anywhere else bigger than the plaza to host a free show? the plaza holds about 4,000 people.

-Billiejoezee- Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 this is the nokia for those who don't know how it looks
stylesmanifest Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 do you guys think there would be an age limit? i hope if there is, they say soon so people don't travel so far and find out they can't even get in. that's just evil.
Raven93 Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 this is the nokia for those who don't know how it looks Is that the place where green day performed the new year thing a while ago ?
-Billiejoezee- Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Is that the place where green day performed the new year thing a while ago ? yup. do you guys think there would be an age limit? i hope if there is, they say soon so people don't travel so far and find out they can't even get in. that's just evil. I hope not... and if there is, i hope it's like last free show. 16+... even though that'll be fucked up for the longer fans.
stylesmanifest Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 yup. I hope not... and if there is, i hope it's like last free show. 16+... even though that'll be fucked up for the longer fans. would they tell you before the show, or would you find out once you get there? hah
Ratchet Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 would they tell you before the show, or would you find out once you get there? hah hope Billie Joe's nice to you guys and lets you know in advance, especially if some people are already there and have already spent money on a plane ticket and accommodation. And when when i say that I mean I hope he tells the age restriction (if there is one) soon :/ Cause I dunno bout you guys who can actually get there, these little things are getting frustrating... EDIT: BUT I kinda understand though why the band isn't saying much because they may not want us fans camping out for days where the concert is going to be freezing our body parts off...
Hanner Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 isn't the LA Film Festival all week at the Nokia Plaza? I really don't think they would let Green Day put on a random free show during a big film fest like that.
walkingcatastrophe Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 No. It makes absolutely zero sense. The bands they have play on that 30x30 stage 25 yards from the movie theater are regional bands that have a teencie following, not a massive national power-house. Forget the fact that it would be the night after a summer (presumably weekend night) at Universal, not to mention the fact that there is a show at the Gibson Amphitheater (CityWalk) on both Friday and Saturday night...Wait, don't forget those facts, those are the main reasons. A concert by Green Day for people just to show up would be a disaster for CityWalk. The most important fact is it's not fortified. It would be virtually impossible to gate off an area in front of that stage and the last thing they want is thousands of people closing down CityWalk. Plain and simple. The ONLY way it could possibly be there is if it is indeed a music video and they spend a ton of fucking money on gating, lighting, staging, and security...etc...and have to get the agreement of Universal and AMC and probably some of the other venues like BB Kings which is right upstairs from that stage. Yet another thing, if it is a music video, why the fuck would Green Day want to shoot a music video in CityWalk? Lol. Sorry, just can't see any scenario where CityWalk is a possibility... I still think without any knowledge (and dammit Ive been checking) that it will either be at a bigger club like Viper or Troub or possibly at the beach somewhere. I have no idea really but just can't see CityWalk. Sounds crazy to me on so many levels. It would crash parking, exiting...too many innocent bystandards would be blind sided with their families and toddlers and shit. I work in the business and I have checked with venues, promoters, management, a friend that works at Live Nation and I can't find out shit. It's kind of crazy. No. It makes absolutely zero sense. ACTUALLY, i was just there saturday and they had a dj and a GIANT area gated off with at least 5000 people, so citywalk IS a possibility
Hermione Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 would they tell you before the show, or would you find out once you get there? hah They'll say what the age limit is when they announce when/where the show is. Pretty certain they've always done that in the past, it'd be evil not to haha (not to mention impractical to have a crowd of people turning up who can't even get in).
daria02 Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 I'm completely unfamiliar with the LA area, but it seems the suggested venues have got loads of space compared to the smaller shows Green Day did recently. Even though it would be "fucking mayhem", as crock6000 puts it, Billie did say "chaos=love ".
Prisca Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 I don't know why I keep thinking the show is over the weekend, it could as the past has shown be any day. This week is all he said. Hmmm. Same! For past secret shows I didn't even attempt to try and get in because I wasn't 18 and I didn't have a car. Now that I'm at least 18 and have my own vehicle, it's driving me crazy! This is just too much stress for a fucking show! lol
Lindsay Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Having it on Friday seems... almost too predictable to me. I can see them having it sometime tonight, Wednesday or Thursday just to throw people off. But aye, I'm probably wrong, just a thought.
Hidingfromcrazies Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 I'm fucking excited!! Who here is in LA area too???? The only venue I know of where you can bring your own booze is Hollywood Bowl, Ive done it before, but that can't possible fit everyone in????? What do you guys think?
-Billiejoezee- Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 So there's a private event tomorrow night at the el rey.... starts at 7 pm and 900 people fit in there... but it's 21+
stylesmanifest Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 would they allow byob though? there's still that.
-Billiejoezee- Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 I don't know...maybe since it's private they would... other events are all ages except that one
stylesmanifest Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 i have a horrible, gut wrenching feeling that might be the place. good lord i hope it isn't. i bought a disposable camera and packed my clothes and everything already!
Hidingfromcrazies Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 No wayI havent been there yet, why is it a scuz or something?
