Oh, I am so sorry! I thought the picture was actually the real clip! Ah, you guys will probably kill me now. :P

No worries, it was the screen cap's fault!

I sure hope this interview gets posted on GD's YouTube channel at some point!

The Part 2 of Q&A with Mike Dirnt is up on Idiot Club now.

Yay he answered one of my questions  (the last one :) )

Why's he always playing around with his hands?

Loved the interview, some really interesting questions were asked. And that must have been the first positive comment I heard someone make about Yohannan.

Thanks for letting us know! :)

Interesting to hear him say he had to improve his playing to be able to keep up with Tré and Tré had to dumb down his playing so mike could keep up. It's really a huge compliment to Tré and his drumming ability even in the kerplunk days.

For all of us that aren't members, someone has uploaded part 1 of the interview on youtube. I don't know if I'm allowed to link to it but just search "mike dirnt" and filter it to uploaded this week and you should be able to find it.

MIKE DIRNT SAID WANNABE!!!

Gonna make some girfs I guess. So... now we can post the questions and answers? Because the video has been leaked and I understand only a little parts of what he says.

No links to the interview here please. If it's out there I'm sure people can find it on their own if they want.

Nice interview! I really liked the questions. Now if only the Idiot Club did a Q&A with Billie Joe or Tre...

It bothers me that Mike went completely off track for one of the questions =/

i liked the interview, they should do these more often on tour with the rest of the band (and maybe the Jason's)

I like when he talks about Tré this time

But couldn't someone write them down? It's out there, and I don't understand most of what Mike's saying :(

We're not allowed to have things that are supposed to be exclusive to the Idiot Club posted on GDC. It's up to you if you wanna look for them elsewhere, but I'm afraid we can't have it here.

I loved that he admitted this. I remember on Billie's NPR interview he said it was a big adjustment when Tre joined the band because he was "a show-off" with his jazz background. Whereas Mike implies that he was just a lot better at his instrument than he (or Billie too) was. I'd be interested to know if Tre is still "dumbing down" his drumming style to fit Green Day's style. It makes sense, if you're a jazz drummer, a punk beat is gonna sound different and probably require less finesse. I hope Green Day hasn't held Tre back from brilliance in anyway. Obviously he's a fantastic drummer as is, but who knows what more he'd be capable of if he were in say, a jazz band.

I think it's very interesting too. Id like to think Billie and Mike caught up with Tre enough, but I've always believed that Tre is a bit of a perfectionist with his instrument. That's not to say Billie or Mike are bad cause I think they are all great musicians.

In another way I think Tre landed on his feet by being part of Green Day cause Billies song writing ability has brought Tres drumming to a worldwide audience.
