Yeah, they should reword it.I don't think any of Green Day's member would think that is right. But yeah,we should definitely make some petition for them to expand contests and IC things,at least for Europe.Europe is an important continent and they have lots of fans here.

They have lots of fans worldwide. I think every fan is just as important.

Yeah,I think that too. What I meant is that they'd get already many many more questions of they made them available for Europe. If they made them available in Asia...well,it could be good to have them available in Japan or China as well.

I emailed them once saying that they should change the wording of "A one year membership is $20 and gets you..." "...Periodic contests with exclusive prizing and random giveaways" if they're not able to deliver it to those outside the US. I suggested they could add "where applicable" or "for US members". They emailed me back saying they won't be changing it because they sometimes have early entry contests for shows in different countries. Well that's a load of bollocks because they don't have them every year or in every country and they know full well that when people read that they don't think it just means an early entry contest. If they won't even do so much as be honest about what they can and can't deliver on the sign up page then tbh I don't hold out much hope for them actually trying to find a way to deliver it.

I think it'd be great if more people emailed them when they do unfair/misleading things though! If they can't offer contests to everyone for legal reasons or whatever then fine, it just annoys me when they're not honest about it.

I think fans should rally together and do something more public.

can I just point out that the q & a is open to all members to submit questions to. this is not restricted to members from the US and Canada!

as for the whole thing about the competitions, this IS being worked on by Artist Arena and members frustration has been passed on time and again, as has any other problems.

this is the responce the admin made on the forums recently about the competition issue.

"hey there! we've posted a response to this question many times. there are different sweepstakes rules/regulations for every single country out there. we've tackled the US and now have international counsel looking into us being able to offer sweeps outside of the US. we really wish there was an easier way around this. but there are some really strict rules when it comes to this stuff for every country.

please know that we are doing EVERYTHING we can to try to open these sweeps to more countries. if you could hang on for a bit longer, that would rock. we know we are getting close.

if you'll notice... even some US states can't participate. sweepstakes rules are that intricate!

thanks for your passion... we are definitely working on it!!!"

I know the Q&As are worldwide but whilst they're very cool, I wouldn't have paid $20 just for that. I can't even think of something I want to ask Mike and to be honest I wasn't interested in the Adrienne one. Other members were but that still isn't what they signed up for. Great if they're working on it and no the laws aren't their fault, but they should still remove the misleading information until it's done, or at least edit it slightly. 'Working on' doesn't mean done, it could be another two years. Maybe the sign up page should just warn you that because of laws, ability to participate in contests may be affected by location.

But they still have my money, I renew it every year just in case so... yeah.

How much is it? 20€ a year?

And to be honest,I don't know what I would ask Mike, but I'm interested. My idol could response one of my questions if I was an IC member, and that would be awesome.Really,I think it's a good idea but they should bring more interesting things.

20 dollars, which is about €15.

I guess it would be pretty cool if I could actually think of something to ask him.

I'd probably ask him if he has ever had an argument with Billie or Tré,or if he ever had anxiety in a tour or something.Or how he got all that determination.Or if he's going to sing any part besides backing vocals in the trilogy.Mike Dirnt is an epic man, sure we can make some epic questions for him.

Wow, nice questions!

Wow, nice questions!

Thank you.Actually those are questions I'd make him because he is my idol.I'd ask him what happened, and what he did,so I know what my idol would do in those oh-so-relatable situations.

I hope a Q&A with Tre will be next. And then Billie!!! :runaround:

Or this system would work:

Mike would answer the questions in late May/early June

Tre would answer the questions in July

and Billie would answer the questions in August

and then Uno! comes out in September... So that it would be something every month in anticipation of Uno!

I would so make an IC account just to ask Billie questions.

I'd probably ask mike how often he still writes songs. And if so, if we're ever gonna hear them.

But IC is too expensive for what it's worth. :)

EDIT: Actually I'd also like to ask him about how the band evolved to letting Billie Joe exclusively doing the talking during live shows. It's an understandable move, but it must have been weird the first few times Mike didn't get to say anything.

That's an amazing question. :o I've wondered about that...I mean, I love Billie, but Mike, Tre, and the Jasons are just as awesome. I'd love to see some friendly bantering back and forth, co-op storytime (so Billie wouldn't have to tell the same ones over and over), shit like that. It would definitely make concerts more interesting.

My questions aren't the best, but hey. It's worth a shot. :P

Yeah, someone should ask that.Anyway I was hoping Mike would talk in this tour, since they are back in the oldie style.Really I love it when Mike talks,he somewhat makes things I don't understand seem interesting.Anyway does he have something different in his pronunciation of words,or some kind of accent? He has something different than for example Billie, and I love it,I wanna have that too

That's because he's soft spoken and so calm... :shy: The "quiet one" of the band

Well,I have that too,I'm axtremely laxed when I'm calm,so I talk kinda slowly.Anyway...doesn't he pronounce the s' and maybe t's as well in otehr way?

"Do you usually enjoy it when fans are just meeting you randomly on a pathway or something".

I second those two questions.

I don't know... he does? I never payed so much attention to the "t's" and "s's"

I'm gonna ask Mike what his favorite drink from starbucks is.

Oh...well I don't know but he's got something I love in how he talks :P

On topic,I came up with a new question.Just as an idea for people, since I'm not an IC member. How about asking if he ever defended Billie in a fight or got in a fight for him? That would make a good story, some retards wanting to hit Billie and Mike popping up and finishing them xD

1 more week to submit questions! :)

And I guess it's pretty bad that Mike only answers the top 10 questions.

Posted

Yeah, but I guess if you were Mike you wouldn't like answering like 130 questions.20 or 30 questions would be nice, though.

I know he wouldn't answer over a hundred, but as you said, a little more would be better. Still, it's better than nothing. WAY better. :)

I think I'm going to submit this one:

"It's a common critic that you've gone silent in the last two Green Day albums, but I'm sure you still have some great basslines (like Longview or J.A.R.) in your mind and I've even seen you doing slap recently! Why is it that you don't make the most of those abilities of yours in Green Day songs? I think you're a much better bass player than you normally show, you should show the world that!"

Does it sound too much like a critic? What I'm trying to say is that I love the way he plays, but I'd like him to explote his abilities a bit more in Green Day songs, not only follow the guitar (like in BOBD and 21 guns and so on). Would anyone want to enrich my question, or put it in a better way, please?

I'm also thinking in asking him if there's going to be a kickass bassline in any of the next albums.

I don't think you're using the word critic right - in your question it should be "critique"....i think? and yeah it sounds a little negative so probably doesn't stand as good a chance  try softening it up a bit
