Isabel Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Wait, is this whole thing about a secret show just a joke or is there some genuine truth to it? And if so, eh, source? Also, if the Billboard interview regarding the US tour going from November through December/January is true, then surely the band won't be making an appearance at any of the musical dates in London?
Requila Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Wait, is this whole thing about a secret show just a joke or is there some genuine truth to it? And if so, eh, source? Also, if the Billboard interview regarding the US tour going from November through December/January is true, then surely the band won't be making an appearance at any of the musical dates in London? The only trustworthy source we've got is a status update from Trè's Facebook, which says: Getting ready for the first leg of the Trilogy tour....let's rock JAPAN, UK, GERMANY, FRANCE, ITALY, and USA...for now...your town soon!! I love this shit! ... and later a comment on that status by Trè: keep checkin in, I will drop hints to where we may play (secret style) or I may forget and gloat about how cool it was the next day. ???? So yeah, there's probably something coming to the UK, but we don't know when, what or how.
Hero_Of_The_Hour Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Yeah basically i'm guessing it will only be a secret show as there just is no way they can tour in what remains of this year and i guessed it would be between Japan and France but i have no idea and am guessing no one else on here does either...if i had a clue i would give it as i feel (as little as i am on here grr lack of decent internet...grr being broke grrr world grr) as though you guys are my friends and at the end of the day Billie/GD are gonna announce things in advance of tickets going on sale anyway so 20 gazzilion randomers/scalpers will be sitting with their fingers on the refresh button when/if tickets do go on sale...it wont be one of those free shows where every second counted and secrecy was paramount to success. So if knowing 2-3 weeks in advance of a scalper means we/GDCers can prepare (if there in fact is anything to prepare for) mentally/financially to pack and run for this then i feel we should all share and cut the shit basically. There is zero advantage in not telling at the very least the damn month if someone knew...hence i feel nobody on here really does ; )

Isabel Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Ok, so I don't feel so bad about selling my closing night tickets then
Davepalooza Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 One day i will get home from work and there will be information about a secret show or a UK tour..
~ Walking Contradiction Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Maybe they will play in a quite big club, like they'll do in Japan on the 16th (1500 people) I don't think they would go to England just to play a concert for 300-400 people...at least I hope so or maybe 2-3 concerts?
TheJedi Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 cant Green Day just release all tour dates now. i hate waiting o.o
sara_gd Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 But yes, Green Day turning up for the final show and either playing a few songs at the end or a secret show somewhere would make my year. Still holding on to a tiny bit of hope that St.Billie might make an appearance for the final UK shows. PLEASEEEE? you'll be disappointed on one of those, but definitely not the other don't worry truth. and exactly, no musical dates it seems So......???
Karen. Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Well, if they're gonna go to England, they might as well come to Ireland too. In fairness. I just can't figure a way for this supposed secret UK show to be on a weekend, which totally counts me out. Going to be very frustrating to be so close for once, but yet so far.
LittleBoyNamedTrain Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Could Green Day be playing here? I'd like to think so. EDIT: I'm talking about the post from August 7th.
sara_gd Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Could Green Day be playing here? I'd like to think so. Interesting. It's in September acording to this> http://www.thedrum.co.uk/news/2012/08/07/mtv-hold-mtv-crashes-manchester-event-september so I think it's very possible!
gmcloughlin Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 They played the World Stage during the last tour. I'd say this is a real possibility!
~ Walking Contradiction Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 A major music star is to headline a top secret gig in Manchester. The city is joining forces with MTV to host the free event next month. Organisers are promising an international headliner for the gig, called ‘MTV Crashes Manchester’ – but details are being kept under wraps until nearer the time. http://menmedia.co.u...ews - RSS Feed)
gmcloughlin Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Do we have any idea what date this is on? Can't do any harm to check out flights.....
farley drexel hatcher Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 watch it be like rihanna or justin bieber or something haha
gmcloughlin Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 i don't like manchester The only time I was there was for the GD gig in June 2010, and that was incredible. No problem going back!
Martyn Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 The only time I was there was for the GD gig in June 2010, and that was incredible. No problem going back! Actually now that i think about it, it was pretty decent tbh! Got sunburned and all - great weather surprisingly
sara_gd Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 So......??? Could you answer that, please? Can we expect Green Day/Billie appearing in the AI musical in December, or not?

Maybe right, maybe not but that's what I think ( as much as i would love Green Day to play )
Martyn Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Could you answer that, please? Can we expect Green Day/Billie appearing in the AI musical in December, or not? Personally, i'm expecting no + have heard nothing of that sort.
gmcloughlin Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 ^Aren't Green Day supposedly gonna be on an American tour from November - January? I doubt Billie will pop over to the UK to be in the musical on one of his days off.
