cocoepops Posted July 16, 2012 Author Posted July 16, 2012 I don't think a whole tour but a couple of shows, yeh
Guest Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I find the O2 Apollo much better than the Manchester Arena. Shame it's far too small for Green Day. They should copy what Blink-182 are doing next week, they're playing the Apollo on the 24th for an "intimate" show
cocoepops Posted July 16, 2012 Author Posted July 16, 2012 They should copy what Blink-182 are doing next week, they're playing the Apollo on the 24th for an "intimate" show The size of the venue wouldn't be the only thing intimate about that show if I went.
Soo Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I love the spectacle and atmosphere of a big outdoor show but arena tours are awesome too! I think if anything happens in September, it will maybe be a couple of shows, announced at very short notice, with maybe a competition to get tickets or something like that.
Mary711 Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Agreed ! I took my son to see GD on the 21CB tour and now I have a 13yo daughter keen to see them. IMO an indoor arena is the best way to see Green Day. BTW I think the needle is stuck in her ipod because Oh Love is playing over and over and over... Personally, I prefer stadiums. The air is better and I like being outside during concerts. But what counts the most is that Green Day is the band who's playing.

Undómiel Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 As long as they come back in some summer, sometime, and do stadiums again.
Smoothed Out Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 They should copy what Blink-182 are doing next week, they're playing the Apollo on the 24th for an "intimate" show Yeah omg, but it'd be blue murder trying to get tickets. Although I was surprised how long Blink's tickets lasted before selling out.
Mary711 Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 If they're coming in September/October I really hope there'll be some shows on Saturdays so that I can fly over for the weekend. Hopefully tomorrow will bring some clarification.

gmcloughlin Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 So, there was nothing in Kerrang about a tour, and we're over half way through July. A September UK tour doesn't look at all likely to me.
Mary711 Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 So, there was nothing in Kerrang about a tour, and we're over half way through July. A September UK tour doesn't look at all likely to me. I agree.
Holly Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 I've just been reading one girls conversation with the Kerrang editor, she's probably a member here, apologies haha, and she's been grilling him about the fact we got no news about the tour in this issue. He kept saying that there is loads of Green Day news and they'll share it as soon as they're allowed, that we need to keep checking the mags, blah blah. BUTTT when she asked if she should keep September open he said, 'depends where you live'. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN. Is he just bluffing to wind us up a bit more? I had kinda accepted that our tour will hopefully be next spring/summer. So what could possibly be occuring in September? I'm sure he just likes messing with our heads.
Guest Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Interesting I don't think it'll be like a full tour then, hence the "depends where you live" Manchester, please, please.

Green Day are in Germany, Italy and Las Vegasi in September. LV is towards the end and Italy is September 2nd. 18 day gap?
WhatserKinx Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Interesting I don't think it'll be like a full tour then, hence the "depends where you live" Manchester, please, please. He probably means the festivals. If the do go to Manchester they had better come to Glasgow
Holly Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Green Day are in Germany, Italy and Las Vegasi in September. LV is towards the end and Italy is September 2nd. 18 day gap? Ooooh, this is true. I was thinking all the festivals and shows were earlier, but yeah they run into September don't they. Interesting.. I hope its confirmed either way pretty soon, I want to book a holiday in September!
Six String Samurai Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 I live in hope that they play a show somewhere up north again preferably Newcastle. they haven't played here in years. but failing that as long as they play Manchester again then all will be right with the world
Guest Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 He probably means the festivals. If the do go to Manchester they had better come to Glasgow Ah, maybe, but I'm sure he'd be referring to the UK? And all the festivals have their lineups announced, I think...
WhatserKinx Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Ah, maybe, but I'm sure he'd be referring to the UK? And all the festivals have their lineups announced, I think... True. But I'm not getting my hopes up, we've been lied to already...
Guest Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 True. But I'm not getting my hopes up, we've been lied to already... I know

I hope its confirmed either way pretty soon, I want to book a holiday in September! Yeah, they did a UK tour in 2009 within two weeks or something like that. Although, I don't think they will because of the American Idiot tour which runs through to December. And they'll want that to have a run on the West End.
San Miguel Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 I live within 2 hours of London (just) so if they do want to some intimate shows in a similar fashion to the secret shows last year i'd be well up for that!! seeing them at Rock en Seine in Paris, but like everyone else i'm still really hoping they will announce some official tour dates soon.
LittleBoyNamedTrain Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Manchester in September would be great.
