colour_me_stupid_ Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Wooooohooooo an excuse to use a 60's spider man meme
worryrockin' Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 I love when people use "Good Riddance" to mean "Time of your Life" because it soooooo does not mean that at all. It's a big FUCK YOU! The song is fucking called "Good Riddance" for a reason. This! Considering the actual meaning of this song, I think most of us can identify to that while watching this thing when it airs, right? I personally don't give a shit of what they cover though, they have ruined so many original songs already as far as I know.
oda Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 I watch glee too haters gonna hate. Though it's not like i consider myself a huge fan who follows news about them and stuff. Plus i hate Rachel and Finn, and I'm a sucker for Santana.
gloria123 Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 this should be an easy one for them, just copy the way the musical split it up!! i would have like to see them do a song that was a little more challenging at least... i just hope they don't fuck it up to bad!
ifmemoryserves Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 And Fuck them, they're sickening politically correct! Guitarist in a wheelchair? Please, get real! PEOPLE IN THAT AGE SPAN ARE MEAN TO PEOPLE WITH HANDICAPS! yes, because the episode where one of the main characters locked artie (the boy in the wheelchair) inside a port-a-potty and planned on tipping it over was very nice of them. Wasn't the American idiot musical invented to prevent shows like glee destorying green day songs ? of course.
BJA TC MD Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Haha. Now I may actually watch Glee again. I hope they don't murder it. They better do a good job.
kellista Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 The only Glee episode I ever watched was the Rock Horror Picture Show one. It wasn't bad, so I don't think they'll ruin Good Riddance.
AndrewW91 Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 I happen to love Glee... So, I'm excited about this. Don't burn me alive.
Mar Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Butchering songs from my two favorite artists (Jason Mraz and GD). Fuck me. If this were 2009 I may be a little excited ... but it's so fucking bad now.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 I like Glee, and it's pretty hard to mess Good Riddance up, especially with a choir, but dear God, did they aim to get de biggest cheesefest on tv ever? Because that's definitely what it's gonna be I'd like to see it though, I think it'll be a good cover Good Riddance is just about the best song they could have chosen for Glee imo, it's a soft ballad with no loud parts in it. Much more likely to succeed than if they'd picked, say, Holiday, BoBD, or even 21 Guns.
Four. Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 I love Glee too. It's going to be amazing. I hope Puck sings most of it because it's his type of song, and we haven't heard him in a while. (oh nvm, he's probably going to sing School's Out by Alice Cooper)
Smoothed Out Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 My friends are going to be un.bear.able. "Oooooh we're all Glee kids and now your favourite band's been convered hehe" ANYWAY. Next disaster.
Jaymee!! Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 I bet they're just going to use the same arrangement as the cast version at the end of American Idiot. Which, if they do, will be a wonderful thing.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 I don't understand why so many people hate this. Sure, you don't have to like Glee, but they aren't bad singers, it's very hard to mess up Good Riddance (they've even got a ready-made version for a choir from the AI musical), they don't need to change the song at all and I very much doubt they will, and the song already is a cliché graduation song that's covered by everyone and featured on many things. It's the microwaveable meal of graduation songs, and Glee just happens to be a great microwave. that analogy did not work out as well as I'd hoped.
Karol Oliveira Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Michael Scott summons up my reaction to this news pretty well!
Tubbie Head Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 The meaning would be good with him but... I think Finn will get it (Not a huge Finn fan...) I imagine it like, all of the glee cast singing, just like what they did with the AI musical... I think that would be nice... If it's Fin singing I will be very very sad XD His voice is really annoying.
Vrock09 Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Meh, I dont really care if they do it because that song has been used so many different times now in various shows and things....I'm just hoping they do it justice and don't fuck it up.
ganis Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 I watch Glee and I've been expecting Good Riddance to be covered sooner or later, can't say I'm hapy about it though because I know that it will either me sung by Blaine or Finn and I disslike both characters.....
Rianne Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 It was kind of predictable they were gonna do a Green Day song some time. It can go both ways: either they fuck it up, or it's a great success. I'll decide if I like it after I saw the episode.
