worryrockin' Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Marching out of time To my own beat now The only way I know
E!!i Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 You have to choose that by yourself, think about your personal life, what in your life is the most important to you?
Malleus Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 This is a pretty tough question. I think I'd get "You can't go forcing something if it's just not right" somewhere on my torso. I'm probably going to end up with a bunch of Green Day related tattoos though.
Elena Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I either wanna have "To reminisce is to die!", "Read between the lines!" or Rage & Love!" tattoed...yeah i know "Rage and Love" is pretty mainstream now, but it means a lot to me, not just cos it could stand for everything in life ...but also cos my band's called Rage And Love and my band means a lot to me ...and even if we ever stop making music and stop with the band, it'll always be a good memory and i'd never regret that tattoo, it would always remind me of those awesome days where i bought my first guitars and tried to play GD songs on it and all the amazing time we spent in that band, soo i could never regret it...my mom always says that you sooner or later regret every tattoo, but if you get sth tattoed that means a lot to you, i doubt you'll ever regret it ...my parents don't allow me a tattoo cos they think i'd regret it somewhen and just ppl in prisons have that and i'd never get a job then ...seems like i gotta wait 2 years
Holly Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I'm trying to decide on something to get done for real but finding it far too difficult to choose on just one line that means the most to me. I have always wanted Rage and Love considering it epitomises Jesus of Surburbia, my favourite song, and in a way Green Day as a whole for me. But I don't like the fact it is so popular because it wouldn't feel special and individual to me. So, I don't know what to get done. I might still get it somewhere if I can't think of anything better to represent them.
Forever Now Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 First place I would put the lyric on is my wrist or my ankle.
Punk Rock Love Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I have my girlfriends name tattooed on my chest. Above it, I plan on getting "I love you's not enough; Im lost for words"
The Snark Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I've been thinking about getting the St. Jimmy heart/cross symbol with "patron saint of denial" on either my upper arm or calf. Or "destined for anything at all".
Sarcasm Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I'd go for "forgetting you but not the time" from Whatsername. But it should be YOUR decision. BTW, are you coming to the GDC meet up in oslo?
E!!i Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I either wanna have "To reminisce is to die!", "Read between the lines!" or Rage & Love!" tattoed...yeah i know "Rage and Love" is pretty mainstream now, but it means a lot to me, not just cos it could stand for everything in life ...but also cos my band's called Rage And Love and my band means a lot to me ...and even if we ever stop making music and stop with the band, it'll always be a good memory and i'd never regret that tattoo, it would always remind me of those awesome days where i bought my first guitars and tried to play GD songs on it and all the amazing time we spent in that band, soo i could never regret it...my mom always says that you sooner or later regret every tattoo, but if you get sth tattoed that means a lot to you, i doubt you'll ever regret it ...my parents don't allow me a tattoo cos they think i'd regret it somewhen and just ppl in prisons have that and i'd never get a job then ...seems like i gotta wait 2 years but maybe some day the tattoo doesn't mean a lot to you anymore, I'm not against tattoos as you can see but I would never say never, and if one day I'll maybe regret the tattoos (I really can't imagine that now) I'll have to live with it or get them lasered away
Satan Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 well, there;s the classic rage & love (or rebel & saint) As for a line, i'm a pretty big fan of "it's not a question, but a lesson learned in time"
BJA TC MD Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Marching out of time To my own beat now The only way I know I actually really like this idea. I'd would probably go with that too
Florence Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 "There's nothing wrong with me, this is how I'm supposed to be" is a nice line. But it's your decision, like many others have said.
Cre Tool. Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 I think I would probably go for "I was made of poison and blood."
Frank's Penis Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 I'm really not a fan of script tats. So if I ever got one it would be because I was hella drunk and high. So it would end up being "dickhead fuckface cock smoking mother fucking asshole dirty twat waste of semen I hope you die".
Artificial Idiot Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 "To live and not to breath, is to die in tragedy"
Drop Dead Hideous Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 You are your own worst enemy will be mine if I'll make up my mind to have my body tattoo'd
Comic Sans Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 You could get "It's Fuck Time" above your private parts! Lol really nice idea! Any line from "Last Ride In". Brilliant songwriting, that was.
DannyDirnt Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Probably I'd get "When masturbation's lost its fun you're fucking lonely" above an arrow pointing that special part
Elena Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 but maybe some day the tattoo doesn't mean a lot to you anymore, I'm not against tattoos as you can see but I would never say never, and if one day I'll maybe regret the tattoos (I really can't imagine that now) I'll have to live with it or get them lasered away yeah maybe, but i really doubt that would ever happen since my band means a lot to me and i could never regret my band's name as a tattoo ...even if we change our band name, stop making music or even my bandmates and my friendship ends, even then it would be a good memory and also a good green day reference...and even if i'd hate green day somewhen i guess i wouldn't regret that tattoo, cos the line isn't sth like "I love Green Day so much", it could come from everyone ...that's why i'd take those words as a tattoo, i think i'd regret every other tattoo somewhen, but not this ...and i guess if i don't like it somewhen i'm more of the person who says: "Oh well, it's a part of my life and i can't change it" and i won't get it lasered away (also cos that would look worse than before imo xD)...and btw i guess i'll never get ANYHING tattoed, cos my parents are totally against it...and we now made a deal: when i sell my first millions with my band i can have a tattoo, but since that'll never happen, i guess i have to live without one
solongfromthestars Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 "The space that's in between insane and insecure" This is a great one too. I'd probably get the entire first part of Dearly Beloved if I wouldn't have too many words on my body after that, my boyfriend's name and the Viva La Gloria one which I would. I don't want to be covered in words, lol, and there's other things like my book or a Sum 41 line that I might want to get tattooed. I was also gonna get the "St. Jimmy rules" thing from AI at one point. Kind of glad I didn't though. It's cool but it doesn't mean the same thing to me now as it did back then.
