The Trilogy Albums: ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tré!

I hope each album has a theme, but not necessarily a connecting storyline. I was thinking that because of the pun on one two three and Tre being sorta the mascot for crazy motherfuckery for the band that maybe all the crazy motherfucking songs about making out and all that other bad ass stuff will be on Tre and the more serious oriented songs will be on Uno and Dos. I have no idea though, they are pretty regular titles so they could just be something to give the trilogy order.

maybe iTre! will be the album the quote "it's the first time we've ever sang about fucking" is related to?

so since we know about the albums now...does that mean no more studio updates? :S

I was worried about this too, I really hope we still get updates, especially because there is still so much we don't know...

i hope there will be no storyline. i´m fed up with stuff like that. AI and 21CB is enough.

and i think the three albums are not just because of the money. in 2013 the AI movie will be released and i think AI movie is made for money reason (but this is off topic)

i wonder if there´s a main subject on the albums or if there will be a storyline like in AI or 21CB

Based on the songs played at the secret shows, I don't think there would be a storyline on the three new albums.

I have trouble containing my unbridled rage whenever I even think that some people would think that they are doing this trilogy for money. For one, they're fucking rock stars, so they probably already wipe their asses with $50 bills. Secondly, they're definitely the last band to pull something like this for reasons other than creativity or too many enjoyable and quality songs.

Can I just say, we definitely chose the right band to be obsessed with. My mum is, and has been for a long time, obsessed with Bay City Rollers. My dad just read out the list of their previous band members. There must have been at least 30. I was like, whatever happened to "no one leaves this band unless it's in a coffin"?

still depends on where you buy the cds. i usually buy them when i go to "mediamarkt" but i know mediamarkt is sometimes very expensive...

I usualy buy them at Saturn.

I do think the price for each individual album will be competitive with other major album releases, because there are SO many people, other than GD, who are paid by the album sales. And remember, they have to cover the cost of the studio time. If the $$$ doesn't come in, they're less likely to get the backing for stunts like this again... You know they don't front the cash for this all themselves (benefit of being on a major label)... Green Day is a business...

We'll probably get a 'special release' that includes all of the trelogy after all three have been released for a bit of a discount (unless they include additional content).

They are certainly not in this for the money.

In anticipation, I started to save money for the albums and the tour months ago! WOOT!

Back in December 1980 The Clash gave us their triple album Sandinista! an epic 144 minute dose of punk, reggae, rockabilly, folk, dub, rhythm and blues, calypso, and rap.

Now Clash imitators Green Day have announced that they’ll be releasing their own triple album epic, except they’ll be releasing it as a three album trilogy.

Last June Armstrong revealed on Twitter that they had begun work on “a tonne of new songs” and hinted at the their current direction by posing a series of questions including “What would [rock photographer] Bob Gruen do?”, “What would Best Coast do?”, “What would [u.S. Bombs singer] Duane Peters do?” and “What would Elvis Costello do?”.

I think a main theme is always a good thing, it makes each album sort of special, like a movie. It's much better than a bunch of random songs unrelated to each other just stuffed in an album. I'm not saying it has to be a concept album, we kinda had enough of it, I think. But at least a main theme would be nice.

glad that mike finally used twitter ^^

and the sound tré does at the end of the 4/4 vid...thats his music influence for 'his' album ¡TRÉ! xD

That would be awesome if Tre has a hidden track song in the end of each album in the trilogy, like All By Myself in Dookie :woot:

Just at the end of ¡Tré! would make much more sense.

Has a band ever done something like that before? I can't wait to hold them in my hands!

Billy Talent released a trilogy of three albums...1 album every three years I think

and Angels And Airwaves released love Part 1 and Love Part 2..

i don´t think that you can call the billy talent albums a triology. the fourth album will be released this year...

PLUS, I don't think it was the main point for BT's 3 albums to be a trilogy. I bet they just didn't have any other titles to think of.

Yeah, but that's not the same in my opinion since they haven't released them that close to each other. I was relating to this short break of only two months between each of them.

I have to agree. Hopefully they'll have their own themes round about.. because as you already said, it makes each album a little more special.

What I'm really wondering about is, how many songs will be on the albums.

But I think they once said in an interview that the fourth one will be called Billy Talent X and won't be a part of the first three albums like they are together.

But that would be predictable, and we all know green day are not predictable...
